Tatum Hutton is a fantastic college counselor and mentor. My son was accepted at his first choice early decision school (Colorado College) and at every other school to which he applied early action. Tatum has worked with all three of my sons over the past two years. My youngest son first worked with Tatum on SAT and ACT prep. His junior year was academically challenging in some subjects. The first monster Tatum helped me tackle was the SAT. I came to her saying that I would be lucky just to get 2000 on the test. Specifically, SAT math was the biggest challenge for me. Before I had ever taken my first SAT, I took classes from Revolution Prep and got a 590 on the official test. A few months after, I retook it and scored a 610. After extensive reviewing and after many practice problems, my SAT math score jumped to 750, and my total score was 2110, more than 100 points over my goal! I was taking AP Calculus AB at the time of my first tests, and I am currently taking AP Calculus BC. My score improved even though more time had passed between when I had learned the math test on the SAT and the date I took it. Throughout the entire process, Tatum was realistic in predicting the score I would get; even though I did not believe I could do so well, Tatum had faith in me and ultimately, she was right. In the end, from the first time I took the SAT to the last time when Tatum tutored me, my score increased by 250 points. Tatum was also a great help in helping me write essays for colleges. We had less than one month to write my personal essay before submitting it to Stanford University for my early action deadline. Even though there was a time crunch, Tatum was very gracious in that she extended her help beyond the times we met. She was willing to email back and forth with me to edit my essay, and as the deadline approached, she even met with me biweekly. We made it on time for the deadline, and I sincerely believe that my personal statement is the loveliest, most artistic, yet honest, piece of writing I have ever composed. Tatum helped me with supplemental essays for all fourteen of the colleges I applied to; she was very generous with her time and answered my emails almost instantly. When it came time for college interviews, Tatum gave me lifelong skills that I know I will use for any interview in the future. I can't imagine having a better tutoring experience than the one I had with Tatum (Tutor Time Now). I was studying to take the GRE after being out of college for 3 years, so my math skills especially rusty. I had taken a GRE prep course through Princeton Review, but I was quickly discouraged because it moved at too fast of a pace for me and assumed I already had certain math skills that I hadn't practiced since high school! When we started my daughter's 8th grade year she got a math teacher we were concerned was going to be difficult for her to keep up with. We immediately inquired with friends about Tutor Time Now that first week of school because we had witnessed their children's school improvements after using TTN's tutoring service the previous year. We are now headed to high school and the 504 assistance has been set in place so she can begin her high school years with the support she needs.
