I first stopped in to this location after picking up my order from Starbucks next-door. I stopped in to see if they had any frames that I would like. I've also been in search of a new eye doctor. Marco, the gentleman that greeted me was very professional and very accommodating. I made the decision to set an appointment. Today I went in for my appointment, I called ahead of time to let them know that I would be a few minutes late. The staff once again was very pleasant and very accommodating. I completed the paperwork and waited just a few moments. When the technician asked me to come back to do the initial eye exams. The equipment was in an open concept area. There was a woman and man in a business conversation. The man's voice was very loud. The two people were clearly engaged in a conversation related to the business of this particular location and franchise. For the first exam, they were directly behind me talking very loudly. Making it very difficult to concentrate on what the tech was asking me to do and also making it difficult for me to hear her speak to me. We proceeded to the second exam, which was two part. Again, the man and woman were standing directly behind me having a very loud in-depth business conversation. Making it excessively difficult to concentrate on the particular exam for peripheral vision. I expressed my concern to the tech about how disruptive it was and how difficult it was to concentrate. She was very kind and apologized and offered me to wait until they finish the conversation. The man and woman proceeded to the showroom, but were still very loud and disruptive. I completed the second part of the second exam. I once again in a respectful manner expressed my concern over the disruption. And then I ask, is that the doctor? Indeed, the woman engaged in this conversation in the earshot of customers was the doctor. I was so offended by the unprofessionalism I let the young lady know I was leaving. I'm very disappointed that I was compelled to leave as I was prepared to buy a complete frame and lenses for regular glasses and I had a bag of design designer frames that I wanted to get new lenses for. The estimated cost for what I wanted to do Wood would have been well in excessive $2000. I am totally amazed, that someone in this position and level of education, would hold such a conversation in earshot of customers. It was clearly a conversation that should have probably been behind closed doors. Details about the business and productivity are not conversation that should've been in front of customers or employees. read more

I saw Dr. Damani and she was so sweet. I wanted to get a lower prescription than what I actually had and she supported that. I got cute ray ban frames. I need to go back for contacts. They kind of act snobby in the front lobby area. I just don't pay them any attention. My insurance is kind of weird and I think caused some issues with who was paying for what so 6 months after my purchase, I called to ask about whether I was going to be reimbursed. It was a bit of a goose chase, but I think once Ayah (the person who filed the claim with my insurance) heard about the issue, she got on it and let me know they were reimbursing me. read more

Custom Eyes is a really lovely spot and it is truly the most awesomely decorated optometrist office I've ever been to. It is posh, modern, and high tech. The chairs in the waiting area even have outlets so that you can charge your devices. The staff? Friendly with impeccable customer service skills both on the phone and in person. Oh and another added bonus...they have a Kuerig coffee machine for us java lovers The only reason why I did not give them a perfect rating is because there was a bit of confusion regarding my insurance coverage and my visit was more than I was quoted. However, the guidelines and copay for VSP can be very confusing and difficult to calculate. Overall this is a really fantastic optometrist office and I will return. read more

Came in today for an eye exam & I was wowed by the interior decor. Very modern decor, beautifully decorated. There is a chandelier that hangs above the seating area, with separators in each seat for comfort & privacy. Each separator has an outlet if you needed to charge your phone or any other electronic device. How convenient! This office definitely makes sure every visit is a positive experience for every client. Next to the front desk is a Keurig for coffee & a mini fridge under it with water & caprisuns if you're bringing your kids for an eye exam. Grace their technician walked me through the paperwork & insurance coverage with a smile. Very friendly and polite. Some optometry offices are pretty impersonal but I definitely feel welcomed here. The exam room has a large screen where they are able to display my results from my exam, nicely furnished as well. I really like that they were able to take a picture of the back of my eye so I did not have to get dilated. This was a plus because I hate getting my eyes dilated. For my contact lens exam there was also a section in the office they called the contact lens "bar" where the doctor the had a wide variety of lenses to choose from to specifically match my eyes. I loved that they had this contact lens bar because I had my own space to try on contacts. Doctor May was very sweet & friendly as well. There is a wide selection of eye wear from Tom Ford, Versace, Ferragamo to Swarovski for adults. Then a section for children's eye wear. Nice! My overall experience was great, my exam went well & will be back to check up my vision in 12 months. read more

I saw Dr. Damani and she was great. She was very knowledgeable and explained to me questions I had regarding my vision. I would definitely come to see her again. The office is beautiful and clean. They have a great selection of eyewear and the office staff helped me choose a beautiful pair of glasses. The office staff is very professional and patient. I was running extremely late and they were so accommodating. Good thing it was a day when they were not as busy. There was some confusion when I asked about contact lenses, but it has since been explained to me. I have been wearing glasses for a long time now and I must say that their prices seemed a bit higher than my optical clinic in Dallas. I have some Prada glasses that I paid under $90 for with insurance (I called my old office when I left), but somehow spend double the price at their office for glasses that are not a high end designer. I came here for a yearly check up eye exam, even though it's been almost two years since my last exam. Well when you first walk in through the door, the decor is very modern and clean. It's nice and subtle, not too much going on. And the lights are bright in here to have good lighting to view which frames look best on you! Which is good, because all my previous optometrist place has dim lighting in the front. Grace took care of me for the first part, taking my pictures and checking my peripheral vision. Then we moved to the eye exam room, and finished up the first part. Grace did a wonderful job taking care of me. My doctor was Elizabeth May, she finished up my second part of the exam which was the actual eye testing, she was very sweet and courteous. She walked me through everything, and explained to me what was good, and what would not be good. So far so good for me. She did a fantastic job! And Grace helped me pick my glasses, even though I had prescriptions, my visions were already great, and they offered but did not pressure me into getting any glasses. I told them that I don't wear prescriptions much, but I was interested in purchasing a sunglasses! Grace took the time to walk me through each individual glasses and was not afraid to be honest with me. She wasn't pressuring me into buying certain ones that didn't look good but the price was high, she literally helped me go through at least 40 pairs...I'm a bit complicated and picky. Once we decided on these new Ray Bans P, we had Amy fix them for me accordingly. Clients were coming in but they weren't rushing to get me out. Amy took her time to adjust them accordingly and told me what were the perks of having them fitted for my face. Once again I was being complicated, probably cause I didn't know what was best for my face, but she explained to me what and why. I work in customer service so I know what it's like dealing with complicated people, sorry they had to deal with me but they did such a great job with everything! From the second I walked in to the second I walked out! The exam room is ver clean and modern, but still has a homey vibe to it. They have 4 monitors in here, one for the exam, one to view your left eye, one to view your right eye, and one for their information. They also have a chest box full of toys for the kids that come! Which is sweet because you usually only see that at dentist places, but going to get your eyes checked isn't always easy either! Their restrooms are very clean too! Which is a must for me, I've gone to many businesses anywhere, whether it's the doctors, or salons, or restaurants, you can make your judgments on the place based on their restrooms too. Which is really important to me. One thing I also loved about this place is how they have sinks everywhere, meaning they are consistently washing their hands, which is awesome! I wash my hands a lot, and for someone to be anywhere near my eyes I would surely hope that their hands are always cleaned! Overall I'd give this place a 5/5! Awful experience. I regularly go other location. Very limited selection of children's glasses. Unfortunately no one told me in advance. Still have to drive to other location. No records were sent prior to my daughters exam. Not a great experience and excess driving. Them optometrist asked if I wanted them dilated. If we are coming in for exam is that we part of a comprehensive exam. Awful experience today. Pearland experience is much better. We had to wait an extra thirty minutes when dilation was done after the fact. read more

I was referred to Custom Eyes to replace my old glasses w/upgraded prescription. The store is so fresh, clean and welcoming. The staff makes you feel like they know you personally and take all the time you require to make your selection. I knew what I wanted and they actually found a better choice for a reasonable price. Dr. May was wonderful through out my entire eye exam. They had a little treasure chest box inside the room just for my son to pick out a toy which was a plus! Horrible experience with contract doctor. Eye red for 4 months and was prescribed over the counter artificial tears. Advised to come in again and pay another 50 dollar copay to see amp her doctor. Marsha, the store manager was very intolerant and unhelpful. Customer do not come first. Subpar contract medical staff. MD. Appeared to be young and new graduate. Not only was the space clean and super comfortable, but the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, while answering your questions. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Elizabeth May and you better believe I will be telling all of my friends to go to see her. I've worn glasses for over twenty years, so I have plenty of experience with eye appointments. My appointment yesterday with Dr. May at Custom Eyes was the absolute best, by far. Dr. May was extremely professional and kind. What I loved most was her dedication to finding the cause of discomfort in my eye. I will definitely return. Also, the glasses collection is great. I have had a horrible experience at custom eyes and its a shame because my initial office exam was great. I decided to go to custom eyes because they are close to my house and took my insurance. I wear daily contacts and it is over 30 days since my Dr exam and I still do not have my replacement contacts. First, they had to order trial pairs, they didnt have them in stock and when I picked them up I asked, what's the next step? The lady said as long as I didnt call back by Monday and say I didn't want them they would be automatically ordered for me. I waited two weeks and I hadn't heard anything so I called to find they were never ordered. They ordered them that day and said 7 business days until I would get them (which is today) and now they tell me at least another 4-5 days. I will be going back to Lenscrafters, even though they don't take my insurance, they were cheaper and way more efficient. I have never had such a horrible time just trying to get contacts EVER! And I have been wearing them for over 20 years. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place! I came in to get my yearly exam, it had been a couple of years since my last one. The entire process was easy and quick from setting up the appointment, coming in to get my eyes checked, and getting my prescription glasses. The girls at the front Grace and Amy are very helpful and answer all questions. They are very hospitable and have a nice coffee/refreshment area for patients. I love the modern decor of the office, it is beautiful , organized and very welcoming. The exam was very through but easy. They really take the time to look at your eyes and explain what is being seen on the screen. The technology that is used is being and not what I remembered to be (the eye puff test/eye dilation). They have a large selection of eye glasses/sunglasses to choose from. My glasses were ready to pick up in a matter of days, the wait was not long.
