The doctor sent a message to both about my condition and told me to call to set up an appointment with either. The doctor made a follow-up call the next morning to see if I'd had any luck (which I hadn't) and called me again later that day. That's quality care!

Since then, the care has become less personalized and more generic. My new complaint is the new service charge of 2.5% when using a credit card. Supposedly it does not exceed their CC charge and does not apply to debit cards (which I used) but a CC charge is a cost of doing business for the convenience of your patients. This seems like a way to boost revenue and had me grumbling the whole time there. They also stopped taking AMEX which was another kicker. If it wasn't for Dr. Jhaveer and Debbie, I would be looking for another eye doctor.

It's been a pleasant experience from the first day I picked up the phone to call and ask questions from CINDY. Everyone was really kind and caring which made me feel really comfortable . Dr. Scott Segal is a professional at what he does and he was very kind, informative, and caring. I did thorough research into who I should pick to go with for my lasik surgery and I'm glad to have picked him. I'm currently recovering from the procedure and it seems to be going great. Dr. Scott also gave me his personal number in case I have any questions or concerns. All information regarding financing, prescriptions, and scheduling were easy to follow. I went to slade and baker for a regular eye exam and to check on cornea. During my visit I…read moreexperienced typical exam and Dr. Slade he could see the issue with my cornea. I was told that day that the same eye with the cornea issue had cellular issues and may need surgery to repair the cells. They scheduled a follow-up to check on the cellular issue. The cornea issue was a known issue for years. I had not heard of the cellular issue until this day. When I went back a month or so later as recommended for the follow up, the machine that reads the eyes' cells was acting up again. I was there neatly 4 hours for what was supposed to be a simple follow up. They eventually were able to get scans and said cells looked normal and the original scan must have been bad. Then Dr. Slade said my cornea looked fine and I did not have a cornea problem, which was concerning because a month prior he looked at my eye and said he could see the cornea issue. When I reminded him that I have had a cornea issue for 30+ years and he saw it a month prior, he insisted my cornea was fine. In addition, I never received a prescription for eye glasses, so I called to get a copy since I went there for my annual exam. I was directed to go to an optometrist. Mind you, I was charged for each visit. I wasted my time and have to start over with another doctor. Something is amiss. I would not recommend.

I have a serious genetic disorder that runs in my family which causes the lens to rapidly dislocate…read morearound the age of 40. This caused my great grandmother to become blind and my grandmother almost lost her vision. When I was referred to Dr. Koch half my zonules were gone and my lenses were actively dislocating. Dr. Koch suggested an approach that was different from the surgery my mom and grandmother received - one that involved putting a new lens in the normal place it would be (as opposed to on top of the iris) and held there by two rings that are sewed to the sides of my eye wall. Dr. Koch saved my vision and he is my hero! He performed extremely complex surgeries on both eyes. Not only is he one talented and amazing surgeons but he also possesses a gentleness and calmness matched by none. His bedside manner is superb! I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Koch and words constantly fail me when I try. He is the best.

Dr. Koch SUCCESSFULLY treated my LASIK induced complication known as macrostraie. The large folds…read morein my cornea caused extreme night vision problems making it very difficult to drive at night or even be outside after dark. I was terrified to have the invasive surgery required to fix the macrostraie, as with any surgery it came with additional risks. Dr. K was patient while I hesitated but took a firm stance on the best approach to permanently fix my problem. He always responded timely to my e-mails filled with questions and never rushed the many office visits throughout the 9 months it took me to gather the courage for the surgery. Dr. Koch is an AMAZING surgeon! He meticulously placed A LOT (too many to count) of microscopic sutures in my cornea at the exact positions to straighten out my cornea properly, a procedure that I believe he invented. At my last check, up he was absolutely delighted (big smile) at the improvement in my vision and the health of my eye. Dr. Koch truly cares for his patients and is extremely passionate about his profession which also involves teaching the students at Baylor University. If you are enduring a vision problem, I highly recommend Dr. Koch! He is the BEST! I am his patient for life and would not trust the care of my eyes to anyone else. Dr. Koch will always do his best and I truly admire his work ethic, skilled hands, knowledge, and intelligence. He restored a quality of life to me that I doubted could return.... which is HUGE.
