I was concerned the Subaru EyeSight might be impaired with the windshield tint, however, after 2,000+ miles, it works flawlessly - day or night. Even though the factory tint has heat reflection, the added tint especially ceramic tint 50% on the windshield is a total game-changer. Took a long road trip to Death Valley and was so grateful to have additional protection. The dashboard stays cool in the hot sun as well as the rest of the vehicle. Steve does a fantastic job. Groupon up seller!! Please Read!! Beware of the add ons and uosells!! They don't answer the phone or return calls. I had to get an appointment by going in then waited 2 weeks. Yes, Groupon says "high end" vehicles could cost more, well that means $100 . Groupon says "choose tint" , + $100 just to go darker on front 2 windows. Windsheid strip +$50, (reduced it to 25 after I told him I was originally quoted $20) I was uncomfortable with the situation at check out time, and felt duped by these guys. . My car looks good, but it's not what I wanted since I couldn't afford the upsell on the darker tint. Had this been explained earlier I could have cancelled and gotten a refund and gone to a non-Grouponer, paid less and they would have come to my house! I hope this helps someone else. read more

Rip off. I wish i could give zero star. Horrible experience dealing with those scam people. Don't Go especially you are women! They have service called "windowshield tint" for $130 which Groupon did not cover so I paid. The guy who answers the phone told me I could choose any tint I want. That's a lie. When I got there, they told me that I shouldn't even put any tint on because it's "illegal" and try to put almost clear plastic on my windowshield. Not to mention, zero Covid-19 safety practice done at the place! The place was just nasty. They try to save money and keep air conditioning set like 80 degrees in the whole garage to waiting room. The 2 guys working there, none had face mask on. There was a dirty bottle of hand sanitizers siting on the counter. That's it. They obviously do not consider your safety at all. The waiting room seating is not even enough to keep customers 6 feet apart. They forced me to choose the tint "they" think "right" for my car, refused to put the tint I wanted. When I called back to request to re-do, the guy hang up the phone. I wasted over $270 for horrible service practices and poor tint job. Look at the rest of my reviews, I have NEVER posted anything below a 3 star review before! I bought a Groupon to have 5 windows tinted. I have an old 2 door car with t-tops so I called to see if I could do the door glass (2 windows), the back window (1 window) and the t-tops (2 windows, totaling 5). The gentleman I spoke to said they don't reccommend tinting t-tops (because excessive heat build up can cause the glass to explode) but they could do it. I made several calls to t-top and sunroof specialists and posted on a car forum asking for opinions and a few days later decided I would take the risk. I called on Thursday to set up an appointment for the following Wednesday. When I called to set up the appointment the gentleman I spoke to said the don't reccomend tinting t-tops, I said I would take the responsibility for the descision and then he said they would not do the t-tops. I had heard that from another place I'd contacted about tiniting so I let it go. The gentleman then said that my car's backseat is small and dificult to work in so there may be an upcharge, they'd call me back the next day if that were the case (that would have been Friday). The weekednd came and went, then on Tuesday, 5 days later and the day before my appointment, Jimmy left a voicemail saying there would be a $70 upcharge (on a $120 Groupon, so a huge mark up!). I called back at 1pm and got their voicemail, I left a message saying that my Groupon was for 5 windows, since they were only doing 3 windows for me (the door glass and back window) that I felt and upcharge was unfair and to please call me back. It is almost 24 hours later and they still have not returned my call. I have also tried to call them 5 more times between yesterday afternoon and today, they are not answering their phone and their voicemail is full. I would be cautious using these guys. They have poor communication and in my case tried to spring an unfair (in my opinion) upcharge on me less than 24 hours before my appointment. I would have loved the chance to discuss this with them, they did not return my call or even answer the phone now. Seems like they are not interested in talking. read more

My car reeks of cigarette smoke because the installer take smoke breaks and then brings the smell back to the car. I notice it each time I get in after it sits parked. I am allergic and have had respiratory issues since I picked up. TERRIBLE QUALITY: Oh, did I mention they also have almost a dozen bubbles? It's been a few months since I had my windows tinted. I wanted to give the tint a little time to cure. I have to say, these guys did an awesome job! Like so many others, I had a Groupon deal. I made my appointment and showed up on time. He showed me my options and even had a couple cars sitting on the lot with two different tints applied. I chose the appropriate one, left me keys, and he set out to work. Got a call later that afternoon when it was ready. The car looked great and I left with a big smile on my face. I should have done it years ago, the car is a 2004 and I bought it brand new. I can't believe the difference in time it takes to cool the car even on the hottest day. Don't go here!!! Again DONT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES HERE!!! Dropped my truck off at noon to get 5 windows tinted and was told by the owner "JP" to come back at 5pm. Shortly before pick up I was notified that he messed up and had to re do all the windows so he needed another hour. Every hour I was given some excuse and that he needed another hour, this went on all the way till 10pm when I finally Got fed up and went to the shop to discover all the doors were closed and no lights on. I called the owner "JP" and said I needed to get a key off my key ring and I'll come back in the morning. He then told me he wasn't at the shop and went across the street but will be there in a few minutes. He than rides up on a bicycle and hands me my car keys!!!! I immediately put them in my pocket and walk towards the entrance of the business plaza to find my truck parked right where I would have scene it entering the complex but it was not there when I arrived earlier. I opened the doors to find a duffel bag full of clothes, window cleaning supplies, rags, and trash scattered in my truck, also the interior reeked of cigarettes, My gas tank was almost empty but it was full when I dropped it off and to top the entire experience off only 3 of the 5 windows were completed. On Monday, 6/30/14, my son and I went here to have his 2013 VW Jetta's windows tinted. We had an appointment at noon. Upon arrival, the owner advised us that he had to let an employee go, so he was short a man and was running behind, but he expected to finish the car about 3 PM. I expected this and my son and I were planning to kill time at Ikea. When we arrived back at three, the car had just been started. The owner estimated another hour, so we headed down Baseline to Mickey D's to kill the time. Arriving back at 4 PM, the car was still not ready. I was slightly miffed....but I "settled up" with the owner before leaving my son at the shop to fend for himself. I had a "Deal Chicken" discount voucher for the tint. The owner was friendly, personable, did not seem to resent the half-off voucher, and did not try to up-sell me. I considered that to be very professional. When my son got home, I examined the tint job. I am extremely meticulous and will notice even the slightest defects by service people. The tint job was PERFECT. Not a single flaw. He even cut perfectly around the 3rd brake light. My son said that when he got the car, the owner was helpful and friendly, and painstakingly explained the care of the tint and the lifetime warranty. I see a lot of negative reviews of other tint establishments on Yelp. Arizona Custom Glass Tinting does an excellent job and does not give customers "attitude" like some other tinters. 1 Star because I didn't even get an appointment. This review is more for the owner so he is aware his "boy" is turning down jobs. My situation was I drive a fleet vehicle and was ticketed because the tint was too dark. I came here to have the old tint removed and legal tint applied. Once I told the boy the payment would come from Knapheide (an upfitter/manufacturer) he stated he didn't want the job, never heard of Knapheide, but I could come talk to the owner in 2 days. Here's the kicker, we have several other vehicles needing the same work done that this bozo is missing out on because Desert Shield in Tempe agreed right away to do it for just $70. Shoot, I'd pay that myself and take the check from Knapheide but Jr. here was too busy to even consider options. Your loss. read more

They do good work and they're one of the cheaper shops around but the service sucks. They schedule appointments and claim they'll have the car for an hour but end up having it most of the day and never let me know they were running behind. Very annoying and inconvenient. I would have recommended them to friends and family but it is seriously a pain in the ass to do business with them. Communicate, and keep your word. It's simple courtesy! Bottom line is... with all the shops in town to choose from, next time I would look elsewhere even if it meant spending a little more money. read more

I took my car into Custom Glass Tiniting to have my windows stripped and retinted. After picking my car up I noticed that I had no dash board control functions. When I called back I was told that they forgot to tell me that my car battery died and they had to put it on the battery charger. The battery was fully charged and I had not had any issues with it when I dropped my car off. I contacted Infiniti and was told that when the battery is fully drained the car's computer go into an energy saving mode and I would have to bring the car into the dealership to have my computer reset at a cost of $135. I was also told by 2 repair shops that Infiniti was the only place that could do the computer reset. I looked at the paperwork I received from Custom Glass Tinting and there was no written disclaimer or written warning regarding the use of a battery charger or the possibility of this situation occuring. I talked to the owner of Custom Tinting and he indicated that they kill batteries all of the time because the key has to be on accessory in order for the windows to open and close. Apparently, as I was told by the owner, it was my fault for not alerting his employees that since they were doing a strip and retint the time on accessory might cause the battery to drain. I have no idea how that would have been my responsibility. The owner refused to accept any responsibility and was not willing to make any financial remuneration for my cost to have Infiniti reset my computer. I would not recommend this company for their business practices. The Infiniti service technician indicated that along with draining my battery my audio system was compromised as a result of the power surge that was created when the battery charger was attached to my car battery. The battery should have been removed from the car and then put on the battery charger. read more

Got a Groupon. Not a good experience. Long wait times like others have complained about (check out the hidden reviews at the bottom that "are not recommended"). We were told 3 hours but it took 7. After 7 hours the work should have been "quality". It was not. And the tech (not sure what his name was), was actually rude rather than being apologetic. Hell he could have been the owner for all I know. A couple of the cars looked ok that came out of there. So I guess its a gamble and if you want to wait all day and be scolded when you ask "how much longer will it be?" then its a good place to take your vehicle. read more

READ THIS REVIEW!! DO NOT SKIP OVER IT!!! I brought my car in to get tinted and had a horrible experience. When I got my car back there were multiple hairs pressed between the window and the tint. Aside from the hairs on 2 out of the 5 windows, EVERY window had TONS of dust bubbles all over. I am sure these weren't moisture because I waited a week for the windows to cure, and you can literally see the pieces of dust/dirt trapped in the bubbles. I am very disappointed by how horrible the tint came out, but I make the hasty assumption that they will gladly redo my windows so I bring my car back in. When I tell the guy about the hair in the windows he tries to get me to admit that I have been driving with my dog in the car, and that's how the hair got stuck in the windows. First of all, I don't have a dog. Second of all, how would driving with a hairy animal cause hair to become trapped between the tint and the window???? Not only is this completely illogical, but it is now apparent that he is going to do everything he can to get out of fixing his mistakes. I reiterate that the hair in the windows was not from me and is completely unacceptable and he became extremely jittery clicking his pen a million times per second before walking away without saying a word. Could it be anymore obvious that he's scrambling for reasons as to how I must be responsible? Eventually, I get him to agree to fixing the windows with the hair, although he is adamant that he will NOT be fixing the windows with dust as "that is just part of getting your windows tinted". Are you joking? I have had my windows tinted on four other cars the last nine years and they all came out perfect, no dust and no hair. Was I just the luckiest person on earth the previous four times, or do you just take zero pride in your work? I'm fairly certain it's the latter. Then came his last-ditch effort. Despite the fact that he seemed to remember me the entire time, now that he's agreed to redo the windows and sees I am empty handed he demands my receipt to prove he tinted my windows because he does not recognize my face and think I might be pulling a fast one to have him fix someone else's mistakes. Pathetic. Luckily for me, I save my receipts. He eventually works on the car and calls me when it is ready. I show up and examine the two windows that were supposed to be fixed to find that one of the windows still has a hair. Not only is this situation frustrating beyond belief, but it is in almost the exact same spot as one of the previous hairs on that window. I would have been under the impression that he simply did not work on that window but the other hairs were gone. Was this suppose to be an improvement? All in all, this place had unprofessional customer service and even lower quality of work. From having their paperwork littered with misspellings like 'chooseing' and 'disapear' to the way the man who seemed to be the owner treated me as a paying customer, there's no hiding how terrible this business is run. Finish it off with continuously getting hair tinted to my windows, this place is a mess and I will never go back. read more

Dropped the car off at 10 it was finally finished around 6. During that time they drained the piss out of my battery. Of course I didnt find this out until after I got home and my battery immediatley died. I called them to alert them of this and it seemed to kink my radio sysem. They offered for me to drive back to check the battery and stereo. They then informed me the battery had died and needed to be jumped. Funny no mention of this when I picked up the car. The main guy was cool about it and apologized. There is no reason to run my sterero while working on the car or have the key in the ignition the entire time tint is being put on. I talked to the owner Bob about the situation his lack of understanding and compassion and respect for his customers is appalling. He has no accountability for himself or his employees. The battery fiasco turned into a weekend ordeal and he would not assist with any of my additonal costs.The battery had to be replaced after testing and recharging at auto zone the battery had been fried! Somehow its my fault his employees drained my batter for 6 hours and drained of every last drop. If you have a problem he isn't going to help in any way. The tint job is actually good. The owner was really kinda nonchalant about the whole situation like he couldnt give a sh*t. Claimed they needed to run the windows up and down while doing the tint job. What nonstop for 6hours? Don't think so I've Had at least 6 cars tinted in the past and never had a battery issue. I see other complaints online with same issue. Pretty sure they leave the car running and use the AC while doing the job and blast the stereo the whole time. It's obvious that's what their doing. The owners excuses were a slap in the face and ridiculous to anyone with any common sense what so ever. Stop disrespecting the cars you work on and your customers. Awesome service! I'm very OCD so I watched the whole process of them doing the tint, they were very thorough and made sure no bubbles stood out. When Jimmy finished he even allowed me to come check out the tint before they drove it out shop. I saw some scratch in the tint (driver side door) and without hesitation he took the whole thing off and re-did that door's tint (HUGE PLUS, again because I am very OCD). I appreciate their patience with me since I can be persistent in perfection. Definitely going to refer people to their shop and do business with them in the future with other cars! read more
