This review of Shaded Knight is long overdue. I feel it is important to review this business as I am tracking the progress/progression of how the window tint on my Toyota Yaris hatchback is holding up. This window treatment was done approximately a year and a half to two years ago. The team works out of their garage in a residential home. It is a family-owned business, the brother is the Hands-On technician and owner and his sister is the chief administrative officer. Nick, the chief technician and owner was 100% professional, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I was impressed with his articulate communication skills. He and his team tinted the windows on my hatchback. The entire process took about 4 to 5 hours. I paid for the darkest ceramicwindow tint you can get in Arizona because of the torrid summers here. The job cost me about $450. I tipped Nick and two other techs $50 each. I was elated upon taking my car home when the job was completed. A few weeks later I noticed bubbling in a few windows that were tinted. By bubbling I mean it appeared as if the tint was watermarked by small circular patterns scattered throughout my windows. I followed all the post window treatment instructions ( I was not allowed to roll the windows down for the first few days. I was advised not to touch the film from the inside of the window for the first few days.) I complied with all the instructions but my windows still developed these strange circular patterns that appeared like air bubbles throughout the windows. I also noticed that the film was cut unevenly on the margins on the very top of my windows. Not all windows were affected by this it was just a few windows for the film was cut unevenly. I felt a bit guilty for bringing this up and it felt like I could be overreacting at first, however I did pay a big chunk of money to get the tint done a So I had to set the bar higher . I contacted Nick and he was so gracious and explained to me why this could be happening and how common this problem is. He offered to fix the windows and even offered to come to my house and work out of my garage, which he did do. He had another teammate named Amanda came over to look at the damage and they fixed it. The only problem is that they only agreed to fix four out of five windows that were affected even though the warranty that they offered me clearly stated that I can come back anytime to have these windows repaired should there be a problem. I cannot remember how many years the warranty would cover these defects I would have to look but I can tell you that I called them the company to request repair just weeks after the job was completed. I was really bummed out that Nick refused to fix my back window even though it also was affected. He did not honor the warranty detail. I came to accept this as he would not repair the a prevention Windows if I did not agree that I was okay with not fixing that back window. It appears that the tent is holding up pretty good on the four windows that were repaired. My back window still has air bubbles in there but it's functional for the most part. Nick mentioned that my car was older (2015) and because of this I can expect to see more of those defects on the car. I wanted to get to the bottom of what could be causing these air bubble like defects and neck stated that it was just residual dust that may have been on the windows prior to them applying the tint. However I do feel it the company's responsibility to clean the windows properly before applying the tint. I tipped the team members generously, which is why I don't understand why and take the time to cut the film properly and honor the repairs according to warranty. On the website I see a lot of fancy expensive cars being tinted by this company, I can't help but thinking that because I drive a cheap little car, that they rushed through the job. I give this company three stars because of how accommodating they were to come to my house to make some repairs to my vehicle. However, I cannot issue them 5 stars because they refused to fix the defective window tint in the back of my car. Honestly, I am still bummed out about this. Again the only way that I could get my windows fixed is if I agreed to get only four of the five windows repaired. I really needed those windows repaired and it was afraid that nobody else would do it so I agreed. Following the repairs, Nick and his sister informed me that I would need to contact the manufacturer of the window film if any future problems should arise. This came as a surprise considering the fact that I was told in the beginning that they would fix any problems at any time as many times as the problems arose with the window tint as long as it was covered during the warranty period which I believe is 2 years. If any problems come up now I would have to visit another window tint company and pay full price again for something that could have been repaired during the warranty period. Don't be thrown off that the shop is in a garage. They are as professional as it gets. GREAT service and extremely friendly folks. Absolute professionalism! I called to gather some information and ask questions about having my wife's '17 Subaru Forester tinted. I was greeted and very helpful and informative by their employee (Edina, can't recall her name?). After asking various questions I had initially chose the standard film, but decided to go with Nano-film to give my wife/family ultimate protection. All the questions I had about their products was greeted with a plethora of knowledge to help me make the decision. Scheduled to have them complete the job in my garage, and was given instructions to ensure proper tinting. On the day of, I was called to confirm the appointment and confirm the tint request. Nick was super informative and helpful, and I ask a lot of questions. He was very upfront and easy going. He even checked my other vehicle to confirm the shade and type of tint on my other vehicle that had dealer option tint. He went above to ensure I was informed and took great care and craftsmanship to ensure I was getting the value for my money. The tint came out stunning, with no bubbles, dust, or any defects! Honestly since having moved to AZ in 2010 I've never had he need to tint my car windows since I've always had them tinted, but recently I bought my first new car that had no tint and was looking around for a legitimate shop and everything I came across had some type of negative review or owner responses that were unprofessional. This company did the windows in our 2017 Chevy 4WD truck. We bought it in CO and it's BLACK. So hot inside.
