They also tackled a battery drain issue due to quiet a few accessories and buttoned up some odds and ends. I just want to say how disappointed I am in this company. I bought an ICON golf cart new in August 2020. It was a great experience. Now, two years later, I sent the cart in because I thought there was an issue with the batteries. The cart was returned promptly, but I noticed a few things that were wrong. First, the battery bar is now broken in two places. Second, there is some kind of wax? adhesive? (I don't know) dripped over the front of the cart. I cannot get it off. I emailed them asking about the battery bar damage and no one responded. So, I emailed a second time and got a short message - I can call service. To me, they couldn't have cared in the least bit. So I called service and it was deny all knowledge. They'll fix my cart, but I'm going to pay for the repairs. Hayden was his name. Obviously, I won't be returning, nor will I be referring anymore friends. I'm just really disappointed in how I was treated, especially having purchased the cart there. I guess after they make a sale, it's tough luck and they don't care if they damage your cart or not. Wow. Just wow. read more

I bought an unusual cart from Custom Golf Cars a little over a year ago. They had taken a 2015 E-Z Go cart and changed the appearance to resemble a Jeep Wrangler. Looked great. It had one lithium battery in it which the salesperson person informed me was the way to go. No maintenance on the battery and a seven year warranty. It did not have a rear seat, but the company added that along with some other accessories I wanted. I paid for these upgrades of course and was anxious to get it delivered. Approximately a year before I had a heart operation and had a stroke during the operation that left my left side paralyzed. The cart became my escape vehicle where I could go to the golf course and follow friends during their rounds. The cart initially had large knobby tires on it that looked cool, but the golf course personnel told me I could not take the cart on the grass with the aggressive tires. Back to the cart dealer. They graciously replaced the knobby tires with ones acceptable to the course. Now I am ready to rock. Unfortunately when I took it to the course and followed my friends who were playing, the cart died on the back nine. The battery gauge did not function, so I could only assume the battery had no juice. The next day the dealer picked up the cart and subsequently informed me that they were getting in replacement gauges and that the onboard charger was not functioning in, so even though I had the cart charger plugged in when not using the cart, the battery was not being charged. In further discussion with the dealer, they suggested that one lithium battery may not be adequate to provide enough battery life to accommodate driving the cart to the local course, using it for 18 holes and returning home. They then added at my expense a second lithium battery and replaced the onboard charger with a used external charger. Now I am really ready to go 18 holes in style, right? Nope. over the past several months the cart has left me stranded either at the course or on the street four more times In addition to the cart losing functionality at the worst time,?other issues surfaced. The safety latch that secured the golf bag to the cart failed, in the process dumping my golf bag and clubs in the street, damaging an expensive staff bag and several clubs. This happened not once, but twice. The dealer replaced the bag holder, so problem resolved. Not so fast. Remember the battery gauge issue. The dealer sent over a repair guy (really a good kid) to put In a new gauge As he did not have the needed tools to do so, once again the cart was taken back to the company's Sun Lakes store. When I got it back, gauge installed, but LED light no longer worked. Back to the shop went the cart. To ensure that the golf bag would remain secured to the cart, I asked the dealer to change the location of the bag holder on the back of the cart. When the cart was returned two days ago, the bag holder was repositioned and the LED light working. Planned to take the cart yesterday to the golf course to putt, as the left side paralysis precludes a golf swing. When I turned the key in the ignition, the cart would not function. When I do not use the cart I always leave it plugged in and the new gauge said I had battery power so what gives? Called the dealer. While waiting for the mechanic to come to the phone to discuss the problem, I tried the key again. This time the cart actually worked and I told the mechanic when he came to the phone all seemed well. I went to the course and when done putting went to the cart to return home. Cart again was dead. Gauge showed 98% battery power remaining, lights functioned but cart would not move. What to do? Dealer now closed (after 4:00). Somehow I managed in spite of a paralyzed left side to push the cart two blocks to my home and into the garage. I left a terse message to the dealer telling them that I have had it with the cart and all it's problems. Owner called me today and we had a less than cordial conversation. He stated that he has bent over backwards to satisfy me. To a large extent I agree with this. I have found their customer service and sales personnel to be very willing to help with the cart issues. The problem is this cart seems to always have issues. Given my physical condition and age (78) I cannot keep pushing this cart home when it quits working, nor should I have to. I have requested if the dealer's owner to refund my money as the cart is really a lemon. He volunteered to replace the expensive lithium batteries with acid cell batteries Like that is the problem. This cart has been in their shop almost as much as it has been in my garage. At the cost of over $11,000, I expect to have a cart that is reliable and functioning. What I have is a cart that looks good, but too often doesn't function properly. I would like to think that my situation with this cart is atypical of working with Custom Golf Cars. A few weeks ago I wrote a review on this company regarding a golf cart I purchased from them just over a year ago. The cart had a myriad of problems requiring many hours with the dealer to repair said cart. In each instance of a problem tearing its ugly head, the company and its owner (Todd) were quick to address the problem. I ended my first review with the question .....wrong cart or wrong company? I now have my answer. Todd tracked down the problem I was experiencing with the cart, repaired it and followed up to ensure it was working , so I now have the answer to my question. Right cart and right company. To be honest, my initial review was based on my frustration with the cart, not Todd or his staff. Every person from the company that I dealt with from Todd, Kayla, Cody and Jimmy were professional, knowledgeable and ready to help. I have and will continue to refer cart buyers to Custom Golf Cars due to their handling of a very unusual cart scenario. By the way, Todd did not pay me to add this second review.
