As a dog savvy owner I was beside myself when I realized that I now own the most challenging dog that I have ever had. I knew that I had a very energetic breed (border collie) but this one is very different than others that I have owned or worked with. His energy was expected but his sneaky aggression towards people and car/tractor chasing was a eye opener for me. On day one working with this dynamic duo I was pleasantly surprised and felt hopeful that I would be able to conquer this little rebel. I have done their one on one training, working on any and all issues that I might have come across during the week, along with helpful hints and words of encouragement I always end the class with the utmost confidence that my dog and I will be a team that others will envy. My schedule had become very hectic and unpredictable and I did not want to stop the forward progress that we were making so I have been sending the boy to "boot camp", which really means that he gets to hang with Chandler and Kendall for the entire day, participating in all the events that they have scheduled for that day. It has been wonderful!!! He gets to socialize (safely) near and far with other dogs and people of all shapes and sizes along with visiting many different training locations. This has really boosted his confidence and his "fear growling" has just about disappeared. I look forward to future sessions cause I know that we have so much more to learn. I started working with Custom K-9 Service Dogs about July 2019, after adopting a 3 year old rescue from the SPCA/Humane Society. Overall, he was a well- trained dog, but I needed help getting him to walk on a leash without dislocating my shoulder (sounds dramatic - but is accurate). Kendall and Chandler helped me set goals BEYOND just leash training - Clyde is able to accompany me into dog-friendly stores and restaurants, heels on walks, and has been able to run off leash on local trails without getting into any trouble. Most recently, he stopped jumping on people when they walk in the door, and has taken up some agility with Kendall and Chandler leading the way. I have participated in one on one sessions with both Kendall and Chandler, group sessions with other dogs working on social skills, and their wilderness first aid courses (a potential life saver for avid hikers like Clyde and I!) My dog's confidence has skyrocketed - he's no longer scared of soccer balls or vacuums, and my confidence as a handler (and in other areas of my life) has increased. read more

I am a disabled veteran and medically retired police officer. My service to my country and community has left me broken in ways most cant see. We hired Chandler and Kendall upon recommendation from a friend of a friend to help us curb some behaviors in our rescue dog. I have now recommended them to 3 more friends. The fact that they would come to our house was a big plus for us....their fees are very reasonable and fair, especially since there are two of them! K & C were always easy to communicate with via text, they were even available by phone when I had a pressing question for them. K & C have an immense knowledge of dogs, my husband and I learned so much about the habits and instincts driving some of our dog's behaviors, which in turn helped us in how we reacted to him. These folks are amazing! They are very good with out pit bull puppy and our older pit bull. We've only had one session so far and it was great- lots of good tips to help train our puppy to be a good dog. Our house is much more calm now and we could not be more thrilled. They responded quickly when I asked for info and came to our house for a VERY reasonable rate to train our pups. They are easy to work with and I can text with any questions in between our training sessions to make sure we stay on track. They gave me lots of notes taken during the training session so that we know what to work on for next time. I highly recommend this couple! read more

Kendall and Chandler were amazing! We brought our 1.5yr old Pit Bull rescue to them as we wanted to be responsible pit bull owners and have a socially acceptable pit bull since we didn't know much of his background. We only had three sessions with them and saw an amazing difference in our boys demeanor and self confidence. Kendall and Chandler have been wonderful with our Golden Retriever. We started a few months ago and Shelby is doing very well. Indoor and outdoor behavior has improved significantly. Custom K-9's knowledge about both human and K-9 behavior is the real difference for me. They explained to us our dog's behavior in a clear manner that has allowed us to effectively train our dog. They also make our training sessions fun by performing our sessions in different places and scenarios. Kendall and Chandler are our dog Mindy's special friends! They are always on time for our training sessions, and have taught us how to keep Mindy safe, under control and happy, as well. Kendall and Chandler are professional and very knowledgeable regarding dogs that are fearful and barking aggressively. We went through the BAT training with Chandler. He helped identify our dogs body language and gave us tools like, changing routes, keeping distance, and at the correct time to work with leash pop, praise, treats, etc. We highly recommend them.
