I recently tried out Cut after being extremely unhappy at my last salon. The whole experience was wonderful and really healing after the bad one I had elsewhere. I filled out a questionnaire online and Meliah text me the next day. They got all the info about my current hair and what I was looking for including pictures. Luckily, I was able to get in only a couple days later when Camryn had an opening. From the moment I stepped foot in the door I felt so welcome. The space is clean, inviting and friendly. Meliah showed me around and took me to my station where they had a bottle of water and chocolates from the fudge shoppe. The little details were so sweet! They also were featuring a local artist, I love seeing local businesses support each other. Camryn listened to my whole hair history so patiently. She spent over 4 hrs getting my hair back to where it needed to be. Even though it was after closing by the time she was blowing me out she never once rushed or seemed annoyed. She still took the time to give me the style I wanted even giving me a tutorial on how to blow out my bangs. My hair looks fabulous! I finally feel like myself again postpartum. I don't know why I went to a chain for years thinking it would be cheaper. Cut had more affordable prices, a better atmosphere, and talented hairstylists. I made my follow up appointment before leaving (not forced on me at all) and am looking forward to my next visit after years of dreading going to the hair salon. Love Danielle and Peach! Unfortunately I moved to the south 2 years ago and haven't found anywhere to match the quality of cut or service that you receive when you walk through the door of CUT. I still go to Danielle whenever I am home. Better show up on time though (probably early) cause Danielle is usually booked. If you show up late and expect the same service you are saying your time is more important than all her other clients. I gave this salon three attempts. They go through staff frequently. I worked with different people each time and their cuts and color proved inexperienced. Worst haircuts and color I have ever had. My last visit was awful. I made sure to call and requested a stylist who had experience with razor cutting, I was assured that she did. Went for my apt day of and sat in the chair to consult first. I Tell the girl that I want my hair razor cut and thinned out a bit, she says okay. Takes me to get washed, mid wash I ask her her plans for the weekend. Her response, "I'm going to a class training on how to razor cut bc I have never done it before". I immediately got nervous. When we got to the chair I told her I was upset by this and I no longer want that. She then tells me she could just "try it out on me". I declined and was pissed when after expressing my frustration was charged full price! I literally left with barely a trim. There were multiple stylist in earshot and NO ONE intervened. I never heard anything from the owner or anyone offering an explanation or apology or credit. For the prices they charge, the service does not hold up at all. Save yourself the aggravation and visit another salon. read more

I stopped coming here after being a twice-a-month customer for over a year. My hair stylist was Lauren who is fantastic. But I just couldn't take the customer service from their receptionists anymore. First they change their pricing without informing me until after services were performed. Then for over a year they kept spelling my name wrong. Then even though I booked multiple appointments ahead of time, they keep asking me to change my appointment the day of which defeats the purpose of having appointments. And finally, I was late once by 3 minutes and I get "spoken to" yet I've had to wait over ten minutes for them. For the high prices they charge I feel their customer service should be better. Additionally I would think they'd treat loyal customers better. read more

I went to this salon after reading stellar reviews on Yelp, Facebook, and seeing their work on Instagram. I've been hopping between salons for a few years now, looking for one to commit to and was pretty positive it would be this salon after my extensive research. My stylist, Julianne, was very friendly and helped me make a large transition from blonde to brown. I enjoyed working with her. After my color was complete, it was late at night, and the salon was SO dark, I assumed my hair looked good. I came home and switched on my LED bathroom vanity and noticed that my color was not at all OK. Before leaving, Julianne said call if ANYTHING wasn't right, so I immediately texted to come back for a toner the next day. It scares me a salon has such poor lighting to begin with that I couldn't even get a good look at what color my hair was upon leaving. The next day, I never felt more uncomfortable having to go back. The salon requires a form to be completed about why you did not like your services. I felt like it was a bad grade to be entered into my client chart or a penalty against my stylist. The form was so embarrassing to complete, I almost walked out immediately. Julianne was happy to fix my hair, but I sat next to the owner, which also upped my level of discomfort - she knew I was returning less than 24 hours after my service. The owner did not even make eve contact with me let alone discuss my concerns with my new hairstyle & to try to keep me as a client. I also was not give another blow dry, but offered one at 35 dollars. As a new client, I assumed that many of these things would've been complimentary to keep me continuing back. My hair turned out OK but nothing like my original request but I will deal with it. I will not return to this salon and would not recommend it to anyone in the area based on customer service alone. read more

someone once told me the owner looks pretty similar to me, and she does! its super weird. i loved every moment of each experience i have at CUT. they give me treats, remember me, personalize the time i have at the studio and follow up with everything asking if i am happy with the services i received. tell me who else does that? salon is very clean, organized and neat and these guys know what theyre doing. i will return. forever. its worth the time, effort and money to travel here from Philadelphia. read more

And your name on the chalkboard is really a cool touch. I am primarily based in Brooklyn and Los Angeles, and I can truly say that the experience here was more like being at a boutique hotel than a salon. Also, I was running a little late due to a little accident (nothing major) so I called ahead and they checked and were able to still fit me in...definitely call ahead if something comes up, just to be polite. CUT is the first hair studio I have been to where I have left happy every single time. I unfortunately live 6 hours away and am only able to go when I visit my family who lives nearby. They are super busy and always booked, but as long as I call or request an appointment online a few weeks in advance I have never had a problem getting in - and they have always tried to squeeze me in if they can. I always get compliments on my hair and I love that Danielle listens to what I want and actually does it! I've been to several salons in big cities and spent triple to quadruple what CUT charges for a hair cut - but Danielle has consistently done a better job than any of those places! Both Danielle and Peach are so sweet and kind and run a fabulous business. I never feel pressured to purchase the products they sell - but have and honestly love the Arrojo line SO much (the products are not super expensive and they seem to last longer than my drug store shampoos, conditioners and styling products). Obviously its important to be there on time because CUT is always booked solid - its unfair to Peach, Danielle and the other employees at CUT as well as other clients with appointments after you if you show up late. I love that I go to CUT and I am seen right at my appointment time - it makes it easy for me to schedule my day knowing that if I make an appointment at 2PM, I will be seen at 2 and not 2:30 because someone earlier in the day showed up 10+ minutes late to their appointment. It is common courtesy to be on time and is unfair to expect everyone to shape their schedules around your inability to make it to your scheduled appointment. Love this place! Tonight I got my first haircut from here and I was so impressed! So many personal touches! I got a quick tour from the apprentice and he explained a bit about the products they use and the education the stylists receive. Then I was taken to my seat which had a little desk with an iPad on it for me to play with plus a bottle of water and two chocolates. Oh and my name written out on a small chalkboard. My stylist Jess was easy to talk to and very friendly. I showed her a pic of the haircut I wanted and she did it perfectly. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my hair and I put in a lot of Google research to find a somewhat trendy salon in my area minus pretension. I decided to give CUT a shot based on the Yelp reviews and while I'm happy with my hair and overall experience, I'm bummed I didn't discover this place sooner! The salon is so cute and they really make you feel welcomed- from the warm greeting at the front desk, to an iPad, chocolates, water & even a little chalkboard with your name at your station. Had an awesome first time experience with CUT salon! The atmosphere is really nice, I loved the decor and style of the whole interior. I was greeted by Peach who was super friendly and showed me around. Jess and Julianne did my hair, I got an a-line cut with a blowout. The cut was exactly what I wanted and my hair was styled perfectly. While this salon has an amazing atmosphere, I am not satisfied the level of expertise of the staff. I came here for a color correction after a previous salon dyed my hair several shades too dark. As someone with no experience coloring hair, I was at the mercy of my stylist. Unfortunately, the procedure I was recommended did not give me anything close to the results I had asked for, and has left me with very unevenly colored hair. At the time of the appointment my stylist did mention that part of my hair did not lighten evenly, but she assured me that once the toner was added I wouldn't be able to tell. After my first shampoo however, the patch of uneven red immediately became visible. Two appointments and almost $500 later, I should not have such unevenly colored hair. read more

The job was horrible ended up with 3 tones in my hair plus spotty and uneven hair. Had to go back 2 times to fix it but end up cover it all with one color and going home with not what I originally wanted. I'm really disappointed and will not return to this salon. read more

Danielle at CUT has been cutting my hair for about 2 years now and she does an amazing job. I initially chose her because she was one of the few local stylists that I could find that takes continuing training which demonstrates to me she really wants to be keep her skills sharp. Although I don't have a "trendy" cut, my fine, layered hair has always been a problem for other stylists, but Danielle's razor skills are amazing. One of the things I like best is that each time you go, she takes the time to listen so if anything has changed, you get exactly want you want. I have been salon jumping for years because I've never left feeling like the stylist actually listened to me.... And that changed last night. What an experience! Julianne asked a TON of questions about the color & cut I wanted.... Some of which I wasn't quite sure how to answer, but she wanted to make sure she got it RIGHT. She really took her time with the coloring piece (painting chunks of hair here and there, blending different shades, etc) and when the cut seemed just a teeny bit "off" to me, she jumped right back in and said "I WISH people would give me more honest feedback like this so I can FIX it instead of them leaving unhappy!". Absolutely love her work and the entire experience.... Even booked my next appointment already for December.
