Hi! Wanted to warn you all, I recently contracted the : CUT KING LAWN CARE for my lawn services. That was a mistake. The low Mower deck setting scalped the lawn down to the dirt in multiple locations. They try to cut low, so they don't come back more often, but this doesn't work if they scalp the lawn. The edging at the sidewalks was not done in some areas and dug out half a foot over other areas that needs to be repaired. Heavy grass clippings and large dirt clods were covering the lawn and left in the street. Nothing was cleaned until I made an official complaint and demanded cleaning. Please see pictures. I honestly don't know what's wrong with the people that work at this company. I work from home and have a small dog that goes in my yard. There is a LARGE SIGN on my door that says to ring the doorbell for access. We have called this company 5-10 times to ask them to please ring the doorbell because they could either run our dog over or let her get out. They never ring the doorbell. No matter how many times we call and remind them. We even purchased a large metal sign. So the little boys who work for this company either cannot read or have not been instructed properly. If all this wasn't enough, I just watch the grass cutter SPIT on my deck. EDIT: This is 100 percent an accurate review and if the "owner" for one second thinks he got me with his response, I promise him he looks like an utter fool And NOBODY would read his response and want to work with his company. My husband wanted me to give your company one more chance (after six official complaints). Well that's for sure as hell off the table. Not only will this "snob" be canceling your service but I will be sharing your response to everyone I see who uses you. Oh and I'm a snob for not wanting you guys to let my dog out or worse? After a quick and efficient cleanup one of the crew returned about an hour later to cut and trim a downspout that had been previously Thanks damaged. I've used Cut King for my Lawn Care needs since becoming a first time home owner in 2018. I've never cut a lawn in my life, so it's super convenient for me to have them come once a week to cut. Very reasonable owner and the guys that come to work on the lawn are polite and super efficient. If I ever need extra work done, I just call up Kevin and let him know and we work out something always reasonable and always taken care of next trip. Also payment is convenient (digital or auto pay) and polite when I've accidentally forgot to update my payment. 10/10 would recommend. read more

They seem to be busier than they can manage, which I can appreciate is a challenge in this labor market. I've only used them for a few months but they routinely adjust the regular schedule and recently blew off my scheduled cut and didn't communicate about it. When I reached out, I was told a silly excuse that my road was closed on the schedule date so they were just going to skip this week. read more

I manage a large number of rental properties in Royal Oak and the surrounding areas and Cut King has been an extremely helpful asset to our business. First of all, they do not require seasonal contracts. This is very helpful when vacant properties need to have their lawns mowed, but only for a few weeks at a time. Additionally, when there is drought or an insanely hot week preventing the grass from growing as much as normal, Kevin's team leaves a note that the grass is too short and does not charge you for mowing that week. On top of that, Cut King offers many more services besides just lawn mowing. They provide Spring and Fall cleanups, aeration and reseeding, snow removal, bush trimming, etc. The list goes on! I would give this company negative stars if I could. The owner is extremely unprofessional and will charge you extra without explanation and without prior notice. When I received an invoice that was substantially higher than expected, Kevin refused to send me a breakdown of the pricing and instead told me I should be grateful that he accommodated my leaf clean up. The only thing I am grateful for is that I am no longer giving this company my money. There are a lot of lawn companies available, so please spend your money elsewhere. read more

I used this company on one of my property's asking for 6 weeks of service. They took about ten days to finally show up for the first cut. After 6 weeks they continued to cut the grass. I called and canceled service and they still cut the grass, sending additional invoices, even after I told them I sold the property. Three weeks later they send another invoice, saying I own them for some additional services. Don't waste your time with this company, they'll only try to rip you off. read more

I contacted Cut King on the recommendation of a neighbor. I followed the instructions from their answering machine and sent an email with my information. My husband was ill and I needed help with snow removal. I asked for a return call even if they were unable to take on my request so I could make other inquiries. I never heard from them. I later learned they only accept jobs from people who want both snow removal and lawn care. A return phone call explaining their policy would have been helpful and would have helped me to move forward in my quest for help. Not reliable. They sent me a quote and said will come cut my grass , but they never showed up. They did not return any of my calls and voice messages and did not respond to any of my text messages over the span of a week. Ended up hiring another company after one week of time wasted and frustration. Very unprofessional. You can at least respond to a text message and say you wont take the job and that would have been perfectly fine with me. But to completely ignore a potential client is something else. read more

Very happy with their professionalism and attention to detail. They are there when they say they will be. A more impressive aspect is that unlike any other maintenance/ upkeep service, they will NOT do (for instance) lawn maintenance just "because". If your yard does not merit it, and you've got a weekly schedule with them, they will ask if you still want that week, instead of doing it and charging you for something that was not needed.
