He sorted me out pretty quickly and then I faced my next wonderful obstacle: an amazing concession stand with a very understanding vendor who had two different kinds of kombucha on tap, chilled brut rosé, several beers ranging from a Pilsner to a stout, several kinds of wine including Pinot noir and Cabernet Savignon, popcorn with real butter, frozen junior mints, whoppers, peanut M&Ms... everything good was there. Give yourself a few extra minutes to decide what you want to nosh on -- just don't pass up such a great selection. The movie was showing in theater B which was across the courtyard, really lovely few steps between buildings. The chairs were very comfortable inside theater to B and the drink holders wide enough to hold the mason jar that my kombucha came in. Yep a real glass -- none of the paper or plastic stuff -- love that. But maybe the best part was the audience who was clearly queuing to many of the lines and laughed at all the right places. The vibe was a lot like a familiarity that you encounter when you watch the Rocky horror picture show: lots of audience knowledge and appreciation expressed throughout the film, which made the movie even better. I've only ever had great nights here and even days when I come to just play arcade games and drink a Coke. The staff is quick and competent. I appreciate their patience so much, they're all really great at Blair so show them some love by tipping your bar tenders and picking up your empty's! If their music isn't what you're into, maybe their massive collection of pinball machines? Or their incredible, well kept classic arcade games like Galaga, 4 person Pac-Man, Dig Dug and much more! Then, less than a week before the event, they admitted they had double-booked the date because they put it on the wrong day in their calendar. That's fine. Sometimes things like that just happen. Instead of making it right, they wanted the band that booked first to move their show to 2:00 in the afternoon on a Thursday. That's ridiculous. People weren't traveling to Eugene to watch an afternoon set while they're at work. The band tried to work with them. They suggested combining the shows, asked to talk it through, and then got ignored. After that, when people started calling out how badly this was handled, the response from the venue wasn't an apology--it was telling people to "eat shit." That's honestly what changed this from a scheduling mistake into a venue I don't want to support. Everyone screws up sometimes. Most businesses own it and try to fix it. Campbell Club chose to insult the very people who were trying to bring customers through their doors. If you're planning to travel for a show here, I'd think twice. I won't be making that mistake again. Also-- their Instagram says they are a nonprofit organization, it's not.

Live music can fill the space, but with the high rafters and open air, the noise is surprisingly not overwhelming. The space has plenty of seating, and while you are sauntering up to the bar to get your own glass of beer, the service is still pretty outstanding. It's hard to beat a $5 beer, especially when you look at the local craft brew that is available. When you pair that with an offering from one of the food trucks that makes their visit, then the Annex is a winning option for you.
