The Cuthbert Amphitheater is a great outdoor venue. Its stunning, beautiful grassy field area where people sit on blankets and chill. Also a standing area closer to the stage for a more dynamic, close up environment. I have been to a fitz and the tantrums concert here as well as FOAM wonderland (edm festival). Great spot, highly recommend buying tickets for events here, such a fun experience.

I live a very busy life and made a lot…read moreof changes in order to make this work, all because this show had been on their calendar for weeks. Then, less than a week before the event, they admitted they had double-booked the date because they put it on the wrong day in their calendar. That's fine. Sometimes things like that just happen. Instead of making it right, they wanted the band that booked first to move their show to 2:00 in the afternoon on a Thursday. That's ridiculous. People weren't traveling to Eugene to watch an afternoon set while they're at work. The band tried to work with them. They suggested combining the shows, asked to talk it through, and then got ignored. After that, when people started calling out how badly this was handled, the response from the venue wasn't an apology--it was telling people to "eat shit." That's honestly what changed this from a scheduling mistake into a venue I don't want to support. Everyone screws up sometimes. Most businesses own it and try to fix it. Campbell Club chose to insult the very people who were trying to bring customers through their doors. If you're planning to travel for a show here, I'd think twice. I won't be making that mistake again. Also-- their Instagram says they are a nonprofit organization, it's not.

Traveling for work and was looking for a place for something to eat with a lively atmosphere. Found…read moreon Facebook that Macs restaurant ( also known as the old Vets building to locals) was having blues/ jazz this night. I hopped on yelp to check out reviews of where I was considering... very mixed as well as dated. So decided to try anyway. Was so happy I did. So if you're looking for an upscale fancy dinner this is not your place. But it is elevated bar food. I had the flatbread bbq chicken pizza. Crust nice and crunchy with so much topping the crust had a hard time supporting it when you picked it up to eat. The previous yelp reviews said they waited forever for food. I found the service above average. The restaurant set up is very much like a Lyons's hall. A bar with lots of tables around randomly and of various sizes. So I walked to the bar to find out if I needed to be seated or just help myself. The bartender stated to sit anywhere I wanted. I told her I was interested in food as well so she handed me a menu. I asked if I needed to come to the bar to order and was told I would be waited on. BC of previous reviews I timed stuff. 3 min after sitting at a random table I was acknowledged and told she would be right back. 1 min later she was asking what I wanted to eat and if I wanted anything to drink. The food menu did not have wine only beer and soda. There is a separate menu for wine. Stella, my waitress was back momentarily with that. After placing my order food arrived within 10 min. Nothing like the horrible service I had read about in previous reviews. Thanks Stella for the awesome service! I will be back The music was a bunch of locals that have been playing together for years and good at it. Era of music was chuck berry, Otis Redding, and some of there own work ( Rooster Blues) Even though this was a Thursday night jam session I felt included. People very friendly and personal

So they sat us at the big 10-12 top with a group of un-known people. Well I could fit at the table my handicapped partner was separated from me wedged in between a wall and a huge Dog Kennel with dog inside! Far from what we had planned. Sitting there waiting for someone to at least come take our order... Hell no, they only serve tables with reservations! Which we DID have. After 30 minutes of watching others get help. I said PHUCK this! Never again....

Casey Neill and his Norway Rats infested the place, occupying many holes stubbornly, much to our delight and ultimate benefit. For 20-plus years I've been making the pilgrimage to Eugene every few years (usually on the occasion of PIELC) -- and without fail, at some point we would end up at Sam Bond's Garage. But this year -- no Sam Bond's. It's turned into the Whit franchise of a pizza place, apparently. (No disrespect to their pizza. It's delicious.) But. What happened to my favorite bar/music spot in Eugene?? Such an unspeakable loss, if this venue is actually permanently closed. I will remain hopeful that it will be reborn... somewhere else? But if not: RIP Sam Bond's Garage. We, from near and far, loved you. Thank you for the good times you gave us all.

The food options are great. Sandwiches, hummus plate, soft pretzel, soup, and slices of pizza. Vegan and meat options and something for everyone. We've seen some great music here sitting at a table and dancing up front. There's a nice area outside that's dominated by smokers, but to each their own. We just love catching a show here!

Some of the other reviews were negative on their food...but our food was fantastic. The burgers were moist and not greasy. The waffle cut fries were hot and crispy. The decor is a D&D dive bar scene....so many things to look at as you wait for bingo to start. They just changed the rules and you do have to pay $1.00 per person to play bingo...but where else can you get that type of entertainment for a dollar. We can't wait to return.

At one point, the bartender disappeared for approximately fifteen minutes, leaving several patrons waiting without acknowledgment. When she finally returned, she casually mentioned she had been on a personal phone call. A second woman then stepped behind the bar, immediately clarifying that she was not, in fact, a bartender. When I expressed concern about the extended absence and lack of service--something I would consider standard feedback in any hospitality setting--I was abruptly told I was "speaking badly" about the staff and was asked to leave. This kind of defensiveness and disregard for patrons is deeply unprofessional, especially for an establishment that positions itself within a community where communication, accountability, and mutual respect are paramount. Eugene has a growing nightlife and alternative culture scene, and many people--locals and visitors alike--expect spaces that uphold those values. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend The Serpent & the Sparrow. There are other venues in town that offer a far more welcoming environment, competent service, and a genuine respect for their patrons.
