Fortunately, John is located in High Point, which is a short trip for me. I found and booked John on Booksy and arrived a few minutes early for my appointment. Barber Edge is located in a house facing Green Street and has plenty of parking in the back. John is a great guy and I especially enjoyed the conversation. He is incredibly detail oriented and asked me questions about my hair style and skin care regimen that I quite honestly had never given much thought. On top of the great cut and shave, I learned a lot as John had some great advice and recommendations. Since I'm a fan of tapers, I was ready to let this one go and just chalk it up to Randy's hair cutting to be of a different style... But I requested a shave as well, something which I heavily regret. After using a razor to give me a clean shave, Randy then followed with an electric razor for about 15 minutes. He applied a shaving balm and repeatedly went over the same areas, resulting in visibly irritated skin. He left burns all across my face but the worst was above and below my lips. I've attached a picture to show this. Despite the poor experience, I may have returned for a second chance if Randy at least showed some friendliness or hospitality while I was there... But not only was there no attempt at conversation, inquiry of what brought me to their establishment, etc... there wasn't even an introduction. The only reason I know Randy's name is because others addressed him. I paid $40 on this visit ($38 haircut and shave, $2 tip).
