The Arcadian Avenue Authentic Barbershop offers clipper or scissor cuts, and a better overall experience for about the same price as their competitors. I had never had a barbershop shave and so I inquired about this. After deer season I dropped in to remove my November stubble. I can't describe how refreshing the hot towels were or how the skillful razor work smoothed my face, removing all those bristles without a nick!! Things have changed though... Twice a year the rates increase 50 cents. What was once an $11 dollar haircut, is now a $15 dollar haircut. What was once a well groomed haircut by the same barber with the perfect amount of conversation for almost two years, is now a mixed bag of results from the cut to the barber to the experience. It seems the only barbers they can keep are the ones who I'd never get a cut with ever again due to their poor quality, and their poor/unprofessional service. And yet... I keep coming back. Somehow a city of 70,000+ people has so few options for barbers. Ending on a positive note, I've surprisingly had three decent cuts in a row. Let's hope this is due to a change by management actively trying to get back their original quality.
