The theatre was jam packed, only one bathroom per gender so be prepared to wait a while.

The quaint theater doesn't really have a "bad" seat in the house! They have programming that spans improv, musicals, classic plays, children's theatre, educational concerts, a capella, etc. They also have a performing arts school in which my daughter has taken classes and summer camps at. One star off because I wish they would do more accessible tickets e.g. rush tickets or lotteries. One of shows of the children from the school of the performing arts was, like, $20/person. Also, the Play that Goes Wrong was $50. I can see a Broadway in Chicago show for that price if you go about it utilizing the proper channels. I do not utilize the bar during shows, but they sell snacks, which are not allowed in the theater, and drinks, which are allowed in the theater.

For three couples. Instead seat were saved and not together. Every one in this row thought the same. It was awful and birthday party like ours and they had to divide up as some couple sat between them. I see plays on the regular and not sure I would come back here. They cast only performed to the middle section. So it was not worth what we paid. I plan to take my friends to another venue next time.

Their latest offering "Women Who Inspire Us" was launched in partnership with the Barrington Cultural Arts Center's "Third Fridays in the Gallery," a monthly event at a nominal fee of only $5. (For the price of a fancy coffee you can make live theater your new cup of tea!) "Women Who Inspire Us" featured fact-filled monologues bringing to life the likenesses of Lucille Ball, Barbra Streisand, Katharine Hepburn, Susan B. Anthony and sci-fi author Ursula K. LeGuin; a former newspaper columnist portrayed Erma Bombeck and a soulful singer serenaded as Joan Baez. Other highlights included a rousing Rosie the Riveter and a giddy Gracie Allen perplexing her partner George Burns. Refreshments and repartee added to the ambience. TesserAct deserves five stars for cultivating a variety of creative opportunities, like this, for people in the community to become involved in live theater, either as a participant or a patron. A labor of love that is felt in every seat of the comfortable, cozy theater. The performances are a short combination of classical opera arias and a collection of popular musical selections. Justin, who was our main contact with Opera in Focus, helped me plan a completely custom experience. They let us schedule a private performance just for my group, on a date and time that they aren't normally open to the public. Having a performance only for my group made it extra special to me. We saw Phantom of the Opera and we loved every moment! The puppets, the music, the lighting and set design, were all works of art. Justin and the whole troupe were so talented and kind. This was the first activity my group did on our wedding day (Oct 18, 2025) and it will be something we will never forget. If we didn't live 5 hours away, I'd make this a monthly activity! They switch up their performances year-round. Don't hesitate, get your tickets to Opera in Focus and keep their magic alive for generations to come!

Parking was in an issue the place is small their stairs but there's also an elevator which I like the fact that it is small because it's more intimate that way and the comedian can actually interact with the audience. We didn't really try the food but there is a two drink minimum or an order of food so we just did two drinks it's a bit pricey so just need to expect that. The service was great the our server was always there checking up on us and asking what we needed so that's also a good thing. Will definitely come back and see more shows here. Happy watching!

Great time, he was hilarious and we definitely need to laugh more! We enjoyed our first time here! It's a 2 item minimum (drinks OR food) which is cool. We aren't drinkers all the time and we drove 45 minutes so we didn't wanna drink. We ordered food and it was good! We had a Caesar salad, seasoned fries, cheeseburger eggrolls and a brownie sundae. All tasted great! Looking forward to catching another show soon!
