My laptop stopped charging intermittently and was giving me an error about my AC charger's wattage…read morenot being recognized. I don't usually go for tech support unless I've tried everything on my own, and everything I had read about it from other people said that it was a potential problem with the charge port or, worse case, the charge circuit. Knowing this would require some heavy duty internal work and since I was on a time crunch, I called Quality PC asking for help. I was told I had a battery problem. I told him the battery was fine, the diagnostics on the BIOS were fine, and I was getting an error about my AC charger's wattage not being recognized. He told me "charge the battery to 100% and if it quits early it's a battery problem". I told him I couldn't charge the battery because my AC charger wasn't being recognized and the battery just runs down to 0 even when it's plugged in. He said "I'm trying to help you here", insisted it was the battery, told me to buy a new one, and left it at that. $160 and a week later, I installed my new battery and guess what? Same error. And I got to go on a 2-week business trip on another continent not knowing if my work laptop was going to kick the bucket and just not charge on any given day. I don't know if they didn't want the business or what, but the level of dismissiveness I got was inconvenient and shitty, and a major waste of time and money.

Having had the thing for 6 years I figured a funeral was in order, but before that I decided to see if anyone could resuscitate the old beast. Enter Computer Wizard... an at home operation of a young guy named Dale who is passionate about helping people just get back to their electronic social lives, or I have heard he even can help people create their own computer works of genius. Having no idea what the hell was wrong with my computer. It was WAY past my mere level one comprehension of any and all IT issues... I give Dale a call and he said, "Sure! Bring it over!" He was really professional had us sign a couple forms and explained his diagnostics process and then we were on our way. He in no way made us feel inferior or technologically unintelligent .. (although we probably are). Dale tries to stock up on parts during really good sales, which saves US money in the end, so he ended up installing a HUGE new Hard-drive to replace my failing old one for a fair amount and after diagnostics and all that jazz... my bill was cheaper than most repair places would charge. Also, he runs deals here and there (Like on YELP!), so keep an eye out. It may save you some extra dough. My computer was ready to go after a couple of days.. although I wasn't able to pick it up until the weekend, but it's working like new and he was able to save the 6 years of files I had on there from wedding pictures, to artwork files... to my music library! First, we live over an hour's drive away from the Trust Computer Services, so William had at least…read morethat long to get to us and the same to go back, which was impressive. This is an old computer, so old that Windows says it won't run W-11, and it wouldn't start up. Then when he got here, no matter what his diagnostics came up with and he fixed it, something else would show up. It appeared to be caused by a program I had installed to keep everything up to date. Eventually he took the computer with him (at my urging as this was a desktop unit and I also have a laptop to use). The problem turned out to be the mother board which he replaced. The Windows-10 program was corrupted so he had to reinstall it but all of my other files were able to be saved. Then he had the two hour + round trip drive to bring the confuser back, set it up again, and make sure everything was working correctly. He also gave me some good advice; all in all I am very pleased with his work, the charge was extremely reasonable and I will not hesitate to call him again if I have computer issues.
