I paid to attend the fitness classes at Tri-C. I would recommend you NEVER waste your time! I spent 6 weeks of total hell dealing with the school and their inability to think and behave in a quality customer service direction. I spoke to 6 or 7 people when I was starting the process. I am a graduate of Tri-C and in the past, have been very happy with the school. Things went down hill in a hurry. I had mentioned to all 7 people it had been a long time since I attended and was there anything I needed to do ... nope just show up. I show up and the argument begins. I was told I need an ID. We spent 10 minutes at the front of the room discussing this - every class, despite it being resolved. In the meantime, the administrator calls me multiple times and e-mails me telling me I can't use the facility. I get in touch and we agree I can use my driver license until the end of the semester. This was a 6 AM class. I show up the following week, and the arguments begin again. It went on like this every single time I showed up for class. In addition, I was being text messaged and e-mailed by additional people. Tri-C FAILED in a big way and did not inform me at any point that the policy was to need an ID until AFTER I paid and arrived for class - I asked what was needed. In addition, the facility is not open after 6PM or on weekends so it was nearly impossible to resolve because I work full time. I spent 6 weeks dealing with the massive incompetence of Tri-C's staff. I did get the ID and even AFTER I got the ID, they screwed up and it was not registered correctly. This was something that only Tri-C could do! Unbelievable. I took my complaint to the Dean and they did absolutely nothing. I spoke with the dean on the phone and he told me he would resolve it and have an answer in 24 or 48 hours. It was 3 weeks before I got a response and I believe the only reason I did get any kind of response from Tri-C was due to my contacting the state and filing a formal complaint. The resolution was to give me a gift card for future use. What good is that? I had a terrible experience at Tri-C, why would I pay to go back. What a total waste of my time and energy. In addition, the fitness instructor did not even bother to show up the last class. I vote NO on any future Tri-C election ballot issues and will NEVER waste my time again at a school that does not put the student first. It could have been handled very differently. The school should allow the instructors to resolve problems with simple solutions and move forward but clearly that is not what happened in my case. What a joke Tri-C has become. I am very disappointed in the way this was handled. THUMBS DOWN!! read more

In Regards to the complaints about Tri-C/Western CCC.' I went here in Fall of 2008 for some classes, but had to quit after 2 weeks in, due to personal reasons. I was on the Financial-Aid Payment Plan. I was at time and still receiving SSI. But they made complaints to a collection agency, which was brought to the attention of the Ohio Attorney General {I can't remember his name?} to make me pay the college of $200. I just want to warn those who may apply to this college on financial Aid to be aware of the financial aid forms you apply for. This college wants their money. read more

My daughter signed up for an online class. She needed to drop it for medical reasons. The staff who answers the phone repeatedly gave us wrong information. One said that it was 100% refund. One said they will send a check next week that they wait until the next semester starts in case students need to transfer it to their next classes. A week later no check. I call and am told that a check was issued but they could tell me where it went to. Meanwhile I am also told that there is a 30 day allowance to file a dispute on refunds. After I was told that my refund that they supposedly sent was only 25%. So we are still trying to find out where our very minimal refund is and we are told that it is not done by Tri C. So now we have to call somewhere else because no refund was ever received. We have our daughter on the phone at the same time. So not only do they give me wrong information, but they do not take any of that plus the fact that there were medical issues into account. They people answering the phone have no idea what they are talking about. Very disappointed in the institution. So next day we call this third party who handles the refund and they tell my husband that the refund was issued. My husband asks to what account and then this company is asking for out social security numbers!! It is an Indian company and the people barely speak English. If I could give less than 1 star I would. This is such a crock. read more

At first I thought the staff was rude and obnoxious, but I found out that not all of them where like that. Coming from a smaller college I found myself a little intimidated. I had the feeling that the staff had attitudes about you not knowing where you're going or what your supposed to be doing. Once found the right people to help me, my express became more enjoyable. read more

I'm currently a student at the Metro campus in Parma and I particularly like the professor's I have (I'm a communications undergrad). The classes have been fun and engaging and I look forward to attending each week. I like the mix of culture, ethnicity, and age of everyone in the classes; it makes for interesting class conversations and I feel I tend to learn more. I'm 32, a wife and a mother, so I'm appreciative about the way the professor's work with/help out people who cannot not attend class if something comes up (or if someone is late). Overall, it's a nice environment. The school store staff, the learning center staff and the testing center staff have been kind and helpful; no complaints! The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I have to agree with what a few people have already pointed out, and that is the few rude staff members who answer the phone at the counseling center. It's not what they say it's the tone of their voice that is off-putting. I called on a couple of occasions and the woman who answered said hello but when I started to speak she continued a conversation with someone in the background. This conversation went on for a minute--at least-- so I nearly hung up. When she came back on the phone she didn't try to explain herself or apologize for the interruption. She continued to be very short with me and I felt like I was an inconvenience to her. I don't like to focus on the negative or end on a bad note so--with that aside--the school is great. I enjoy the campus, the students and the professors! Definitely take a look at what they have to offer. read more
