I love my local library! It's grown quite a bit since we moved here. The selection is great & they have tons of movies you can check out. It's always clean & pretty quiet. They've added more computers and have a ton of tables to sit & study. It's very close to the high school, so it's a great place for kids to come after school for homework. If you go online, you can download or check the availability of books & movies. If you have to get on the waiting list for something, it will be waiting for you at the front after they email you that it's ready. read more

Cuyahoga Falls Library will always be "Taylor" to me - and whatever you call it, it is a great library. The staff is very helpful, and it is conducive to reading, computer usage and studying. The staff have also been very accommodating in locating and sending for books when I have requested a book that is not at their location. The staff is also good about monitoring noise level at peak times. It is a great asset to our community. read more

Built in 1971 and originally called "Taylor Memorial Public Library", this library is still useful and relevant. It has lost some things and gained some things; it traded some of its old artsy flair for a more futuristic and austere atmosphere. I used to go there as a kid and they had this push-button motor that would move paintings on a wall so you could admire the art. And they also once had a kids area that was very cozy with a recessed corner where you could sidle up to a bronze statue of a sleeping deer surrounded by line art drawings of kids in nature. Well one day they blasted that to smithereens and tossed the kids area downstairs to "Storage B" and now the upstairs is a much more rigid, ascetic serious atmosphere- like in the movie Gattaca. You will probably get your library needs met. But don't come here looking for nostalgia, laughter or mirth. Smiles here have mostly gone the way of the 25-cent Hershey bar. read more

As a school librarian and avid reader of all types of books, I am very impressed with the collection at this library. The librarians who handle the collection development must be very talented and hard-working people. Taylor is a stand-alone local library and it is not part of a large system like Cuyahoga County or Akron, yet they have an incredibly well-balanced and thoughtful collection. Their Young Adult and their cookbook sections seems especially strong, Unfortunately, I don't get the chance to visit here too often but I when I do, I always find interesting materials. I visit my local branch of the Akron system all the time and when they don't have a book I want, usually Taylor does! I then request to borrow it through inter-library loan. The inside of the library is pleasant and spacious. The Children's Area is well-maintained and has a nice collection. read more

I love the C Falls Library!! I moved here 6 years ago & although its not as large as the Lakewood Ohio Library I was use to, it has everything one could need or want & I love the fact they are always expanding!! My zipcode reflects I live in Stow & I don't!! Stow & my part of Cuyahoga Falls share a zipcode & maybe someday the postal service will get it!! read more

It meets the requirements that most people would expect from a library: helpful staff, a diverse and regularly updated collection of books and related resources, and just as importantly (and often rare at libraries these days) plenty of quiet places to read, study, and work. A great collection... if only the librarians in charge were more helpful. It's too bad the circulation staff and assistant reference librarians are not in charge. They would be so much better at helping the public. There's one lady at the desk who gets sooooo flustered when you ask her a simple question. She acts like there's so much on her plate, when really the only thing that matters at the moment is good customer service. If she's the so-called head coordinator of the library then maybe she should stay in the office with her busy work and let the other librarians handle reference questions. read more

There should be many additional services that were not included in the recent remodeling project and are beyond the building's current range of services. An auditorium would be needed for musical recitals or film performances or showings of group presentations to make it more accommodating to certain library patrons who want more from their library than the standard range of services. Another library reference person for adult services is needed. Have another person on duty for these adult consultation services at their desk for serving needs of adult patrons seeking help and guidance from reference. So much for the library should not be a continuation of the high school library services so another adult reference person should be put in place at their post upstairs. Look at the number of books and reading and listening materials upstairs and match that up with adults reference personnel there. A shortage in one of these areas is apparent. A small group listening room for hearing music and watching films in the library should have been included in the recent renovation project. For adults more consultation of about books and library topics is to be included in these reference services. Too many dvd's and films seem to include too much violence and junk. The library collection of so many things to read, see and hear should not be a reflection of society. Be more selective in choices in making selections. The number of rooms available for groups of patrons and residents should be larger with a wider range of topics for presenting the public more space to attend these group presentations. Your library group rooms in the basement are not as plentiful as the library should have in making space available for groups of people who need more space than the small group study rooms upstairs. Group study rooms should be increased in number. Make better use of the space behind the counter in the children's center toward the windows and heading backwoods to the far corner. Make better use of the floor space upstairs with more shelving for books and the like. The computer room is not a quiet room anymore. Too many visitors are talking on cell phones and to each other. People sleeping or making noises in the computer room should be asked to leave or become less annoying and less bothersome. Same thing for the magazine room. Certain adults are carrying their junk and stuff in bags and leaving that stuff around the tables in these two rooms. It is an eye sore. Try to localize the activities for middle school youngsters in the basement because sometimes that part of the basement is empty. Remove the books from the history room and make better use of that room. Encourage people who ride motorbikes or the like to park them away from the parking lot places set aside for people arriving in cars. Downstairs children's educational center is priceless and most valuable. Reconsider the location of the teen center and make better use of that space that is too valuable. Do not establish or bring in a room equipped with vending machines. Keep food out of the library, including liquids from the computer and magazine rooms. Do not turn the library into a cafeteria or a lunch room. read more
