I had forgotten how grand the library is. It is definitely a hidden gem. CPL is worth a visit for any visitor and local. The Superman exhibit was small but had many items of interest. The staff was very helpful in guiding us around the building. I really enjoyed the special collections that included menus from old Cleveland restaurants. As we walked around we spoke to staff. They were all very friendly. If you are going for reading material the CPL collection seemed enormous.

I dropped by this afternoon to pick up and return books (so very convenient to pre-order and pickup). The library has two floors. The first floor has checkout desks and some book collections. Notable parts of the first floor are Meeting Rooms, printers, Large Print Books, and passport services (the latter super convenient). The second floor has additional book collections, reference desk, some meeting rooms, computer lab, and book shop. The book shop has cool sales every months with $5 fill the bag specials. Collections at the library are very versatile, you can find all kinds of books. The library hosts a lot of events that are accessible for booking on the library's website. The library also has onsite herb garden, which is pretty amazing. It's a wonderful space for the community. Parking is located in the back of the library with ample amount of space available. At the front there's a connecting pedestrian bridge to another parking lot. I highly recommend a visit, it's a very serene location!

It has been my favorite location I've been to in years. I was kindly shown (given a tour) around the library by a staff member as it was my first time inside. So, customer service was good. The person who showed me around happened to be a security guard. I don't live in that neighbourhood so it was nice to visit a different library for a change. BOOKS AND MORE: They have a solid collection of books and research materials. If there is a book that you can't find on the online database or in person, you can ask a staff member to see if another location has the book you're looking for. They also have computers available for use. If you haven't visited any of the CPL locations then this one is good as I had a good experience here. I also highly recommend the main library location downtown which is pretty much like a museum. I was there for an authors event with local author Courtney Hauser in the meeting room. Afterwards I asked Tony, the manager to kindly give me a tour. He was very enthusiastic about what the library had to offer and showed me the different areas of concentration. He mentioned recent improvements and also soon to be upgrades. Areas of opportunity: I think the restroom should be wheelchair accessible. Also able to be opened without touching the pull down handle. People with dexterity issues may have a hard time opening the restroom door because I had to pull hard. I will definitely return.

This is the smaller branch of the main Lakewood Library. I came here hoping to sit down to work but…read morethe vibe was quiet (only one other patron was there minus the 2 staff members and police officer) so I went to the main branch instead. This library is located east of the main library and a great option for Lakewood residents who live south of Franklin Ave or west of 117th Ave. There is only one floor for Patrons to use with tables and chairs scattered throughout. The stairs that you see inside lead up to a staff only area which I was told is used for staff offices. The elevator goes down to a basement floor which is used for storing books and other library items. There is also a security guard who stands by the entrance so you will feel safe I suppose. I remember visiting this location back in November 2017 and the staff members were super helpful in locating a book for me. Even though the library ended up not having the book (they were all checked out and there was a waitlist too - others had the book on hold), they still searched other libraries for me. I was very happy to know that staff here truly have a customer service outlook. Overall, I recommend this library for the service and ease of use (it is small enough where you can find books/videos easily). 4 stars only because the Lakewood library do not allow anyone to bring their own water bottle inside. *** This is my 82nd Yelp review overall. 36th review for 2018.

Birdtown is one of the best areas in Lakewood to hang out and have a good time and soak in the great history and mystery of Lakewood.
