I had a can of gravy that I heated up to put on it, still then I couldn't even eat it. I wasted so much money on this place it has me sick. I didn't even give it to my dog because I was afraid my dog would choke on the dry tough meat. The onion rings were somehow tough and rubbery. We are generally pretty happy when we come here. My only complaint has been with the sauce used for the alfredo. It being so soupy and so much of it being used to drown the pasta. I like to think we are regulars here. We came in yesterday for a late lunch. I of course, ordered the ribeye, which is my norm. My girlfriend ordered her sides and the burger with bacon and cheese. The picture below, reflects how her order came out. No dressings, no cheese and no bacon. We asked the server about it and she said she would take care of it. 5 mins later we get a small plate with lettuce tomato and cold slice of cheese. Still no bacon. I dont think I'm disappointed at the manner it came out, but more with the manner how this issue wasnt addressed. No manager came over to talk to us. The rest of our meal was awful....$25 a dozen for chargrilled oysters is steep but we order two dozen one with bacon and one without. Chargrilled is cooked right?!? These barely saw the grill. They were pale and underdone. They lacked flavor and were beyond awful. Our bill was almost $100 and that was a bill without alcoholic beverages. So not worth the time or the money. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time. Finally my husband agreed and we took the kids for dinner one Sunday night. I am so glad we were able to check this place out. It is mainly seafood but they do have hamburgers as well. My youngest is not a fan of seafood so thankfully she was able to order and really enjoyed the hamburger sliders. We started off with a few appetizers: fried pickles, red fish dip and french fries that were loaded with cheese and crab. The red fish dip was OK, but I much prefer tuna dip. The fries were absolutely delicious! The fried pickles were no different than any other place we've had them, but very good. I highly suggest getting a Poboy, oh my goodness the bread is amazing!!! The French bread is delivered daily from New Orleans and trust me you want to go and have a po-boy there. It's a nice atmosphere and the wait staff is friendly. My favorite thing about this place are the bomb popsicles. They have so many great flavors, and the lady who is in there is so nice. The crawfish here is flavored well, too. The staff is great, Cameron the bartender rocks! The beer is always cold, and drinks are reasonably priced. I had a brief experience here. I enjoyed the gumbo, but I suspect that the $9 bowl I ordered is something of a rip-off compared to the $6 cup. However, it was good gumbo served quickly in a prime location. My server-bartender was well-informed and very helpful. I hope to return. We stumbled onto Cruz's oyster bar looking for seafood dinner one night while on vacation . I will say the menu has a lot of variety not just seafood options . Lots of mixed drink options frozen and on the rocks . I had a beach front sunset and a frozen blueberry martini both were delicious on a hot day . We ordered fried pickles which were good and there was a generous portion . I had the blackened redfish and hush puppies and a salad for $23 huge portion and done perfectly! Tasted great . My son ordered fettuccine and unfortunately he did not fare so well it was overpowered by garlic and black pepper . That's all you could taste was garlic . He couldn't do more than a few bites . The atmosphere is fun beach bar ambiance . There is outdoor dining with a sliver of a water view across the street. This is a great place in downtown Bay St Louis ! We had eaten here a couple of years ago with a large group. Decided to visit on our own this trip. Service was great, even though they were short staffed. We were seated right away and we're able to place our orders quickly. I had a shrimp poboy that was so good. Eddie had the fried oyster platter which he said was very good. I grudgingly shared a couple of my shrimp with him; he really liked them. The breading is very light and seasoned just right for me. The onion rings also had a light breading and were delicious. 2 weeks ago we came and I would have given a five star review. We had 12 people and everyone's food was good. Two people ordered the Royal Reds, they were delicious hot,firm and seasoned! We ate here last night and got Royal Reds again, they were served cold, unseasoned and mushy. About a quarter of mine I couldn't eat and my husband couldn't eat about half of his. We've been coming here about every other weekend, not due to the food, but because the patio area is pretty nice and they were pet friendly. However, within just the last few weeks Cuz's changed their pet policy and are no longer pet friendly (BOO!) Since the food is only mediocre, at best, and when we went last weekend we were told we couldn't stay because we brought our dog (but note that as we were leaving the same hostess was seating an elderly couple with their dog... so they do what they feel like doing at any given moment), we won't be returning. There's growing competition in the area for our restaurants and if they don't provide a pet friendly atmosphere we enjoy being in or tasty dishes, there are a number of other restaurants that provide one, the other or both all along the Coast. read more

I had a really enjoyable experience with family tonight at Cuz's. The service, food, and vibe was great. It is situated against the lake, but at an enjoyable distance. You can still see the views without having the wind constantly hitting you. Still a pleasant breeze made for a nice time sitting outside. The patio was very fun. They have really fun lights, decor, and a nice dinning area outdoors. The food was phenomenal. Genuinely. I ordered the fettuccine with chicken, and it has become my new favorite. The chicken was seasoned extremely well and really added to the dish. The actual pasta was also delicious, and the sauce for the Alfredo was genuinely made do well. I was really glad with my decision. For an appetizer, I shared the onion rings with one of the people who came with me. They were the best I've had so far. The batter was fantastic. It was addicting. The dipping sauce they came with really added to it as well. It was overall just so delicious. I also had a side salad. Of which I can say the vegetables used were very fresh. I've had salads where the lettuce or other vegetables were... sad. This salad was really great. The vegetables were fresh and full and even though it was just a side salad, it was also great. Had a dinner date and we randomly chose this place. When we were handed the menu, I was taken aback at how limited it was: one laminated page-front only. There were a total of three entrees of moderate price. My date had the alligator bites appetizer, which he said was good, and I had a bowl of gumbo. I am finicky about gumbo. I don't like okra in it as it can be slimy and I don't like the texture. It was blissfully "okra" free but it was incredibly salty. I was only able to finish about half of it. To me, that's a cardinal sin! You can always add salt later but once it's in.. you can't take it out. I think the dish suffered for it. It then took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive, which was warm at best. When the food arrived we ordered another beer and water. After 20 minutes passed I spoke with the hostess requesting our waitress, she then informed me she would be back out after she finished her to-go order. 5 more minutes passed when i went and found my own beer sitting at the bar. First time and last. No staff at 530 on a Thursday. Literally 3 waitresses/one bartender. Our waitress was unskilled. Appetizer with no plates. Came with knives for salads after salad was delivered and after we asked, in a pile in her hand. Fried stuff was all sooo greasy, almost soggy. And really tasted of old grease. Shrimp scampi was floating in more oil than anything. Stuffed fish was thin filet laid on top of bland rice. Were told the kitchen was backed up but everything was cooled off when delivered. Just awful. We hardly ate any of it. And it's not cheap! $20 plates basically. the beers we ordered from the waitress we had to go fetch ourselves after waiting over 20 minutes! After doing that we decided to not ask waitress and just go directly to the bar. We finally got out of there at 8:00.
