    Cheeseburger and onion rings

Lunch just off the casino floor. Not the best burger I've ever had but it hit the spot. Onion rings had a crispy batter and were excellent.

The food was really tasty. They cooked my boyfriends steak perfectly. The catfish was tender, not greasy, and it was flavorful. (It was one of the fishier catfishes I've had-- still super good.) The asparagus was GREAT. Tasted very lemon-y and herby. The baby bakers were also very tender and cooked well. Thanks Joe for phenomenal service. My boyfriend can't have spicy stuff and he asked if the gumbo was spicy, Joe said no-- and the gumbo was perfect. Previously had servers be dishonest about the spice level of food, so this was greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone who made tonight a great experience. Definitely recommend the food...and Joe for service! Also went again and had Justina. She was great. The food was great. The steak was tender and juicy, cooked perfectly. The potatoes were great. The cabbage was lovely. The breakfast meal was plentiful and tasty.

I purchased the seafood platter to go. The seafoods were fried shrimp, a catfish fillet, 2 stuffed shrimp and crawfish obviously substituted for clam strips; served on a bed of withered up brown Chinese Cabbage and a half filled cup of gumbo. There was a side of tasteless asparagus also included that I was not aware of; otherwise, I would have requested a substitution if given the choice. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the awful looking bed of brown withered vegetables underneath the seafood. I was further disappointed to discover such a small dab of a half full cup of gumbo. It's highly recommended to carefully check your order before leaving the premises to avoid total disappointment. In the past, I've dined in and had far better experiences. The carry out order was not treated equally.

I came to the C&G Grill because I was at the casino which was probably the first mistake I made. We were seated pretty quickly, which was good in a way but also another bad sign, an empty restaurant, on Fat Tuesday. We sat at our table and the first thing I noticed with the menu, which looked to be a nice one at one time. was basically torn in half. I look past the unkept appearance of the menu and there's not much to it. Simple is sometimes good but this one was just off for some reason. I asked what the soup of the day was and the waiter responded "corn stew" (corn chowder). Not feeling very confident in most of the menu I decided to play it safe and go with breakfast since it's served all day. I ordered a breakfast bowl that consisted of hash browns topped with eggs, sausage, bacon, and cheese. My order came out after about 20 minutes and I know right away it's not going to be good. It was too greasy, the bacon and sausage was basically burnt, the egg dry and the cheese burnt. There wasn't anything right about this bowl. On a side note the breakfast bowl was $13! Maybe at a high end restaurant and maybe if it was executed well but not here. The silverware was spotted and dirty, the cloth napkins were stained, the food was bad. I'd suggest someone reevaluate the situation at this place or shut it down. Gross!

Slop on a bun. Worst steak sandwich ever. Old dry meat, soggy green peppers, wet bun with some canned cheese sauce.

I went up to my room after taking two bites of the horrible steak and peppers philly cheese sub.....i threw up. That told me it was very old food and not to be trusted. I called C&G to tell them and the girl said " thanks I'll let the kitchen know" It ruined my day. I stayed in bed after that and sipped 7up. I didnt get a chance to play craps the remainder of the day, unfortunately.

Had to get my authentic gumbo fixation!!!!

We have ate here a few times. The gumbo is usually really good. Tonight it was alright. But it was far superior to the chicken wings.

I got curious about it and thought I check it out. Perfect timing, I was hungry at the time we went. We stopped in for lunch. It was busy but not too busy. I noticed a lot of vehicles in the parking lot. I was wondering if we could get a table. As we walked up, the hostess greeted us with a smile and sat us down right away. The atmosphere is casual but with an upbeat tone. I do not know how the experience in the evening is. However, during lunch time seems to be a great casual /classy lunch experience. I forgot her name, she was amazing! She asked if we like something to drink. I mentioned it was too early for a drink. Much appreciated. They do have a large selection of alcohol. (Drink responsibly). If not drink, how about delicious appetizer. We thank her and declined on both. Just ask for sweet tea. She came back with our drinks. She mentioned that they are offering special if we are interested. It sounds great so I asked for it. We started out with the silly Philly sandwich that comes with fries. Looks delicious. The sandwich is melted cheese with sliced thin steak meat. Comes with thinly sliced green peppers and onions. And of course, the special. It looks so delicious as it came out. I surprised how big it was. Appeared to be a big a large potato or size of two potatoes. Loaded up with small pieces of steak, shrimp, green peppers, onions, sauce (hard to describe), and light dusting of seasoning on it. Overall, great experience! We are glad we went. WiFi I can tell. Stop by if you want some delicious food and great service. You will not regret it if you are nearby.

We ordered blackened mahi mahi, side salads, Yum Yum bread, and a seafood special which was blackened trout served over pasta with a shrimp seafood cream sauce. Everything was excellent!! The blackening on the fish was so delicious, the Yum Yum bread was so light and fluffy and crusty and fresh. I also ordered a Marina margarita which had pineapple and lime juices. The margarita was delightful although I didn't taste or feel much alcohol. I would still order it again because it was so tasty and refreshing. Great service, could not have been happier. The kids menu was also nice! My son had chicken tenders, chips, and a strawberry smoothie. Total for 3 of us was $96 pre-tip.

This time we sat out on the back balcony overlooking the harbor and got to watch the sunset and people out fishing and throwing cast nets. The view was great, but the chairs were flimsy and uncomfortable. For starters, we got the smoked tuna dip which comes with a generous portion of dip and a bunch of tortilla chips. We loved the dip itself but the chips were too brittle to scoop up the dip though a spoon was included. I had the blackened shrimp, which comes with this sweetened sauce that really sets off the flavor. They are not spicy, so don't let the blackened part scare you. Also included was a bit of somewhat dry pasta which goes well to lap up all the flavors left on the plate, and a small side salad. My wife had the redfish which came with a very large filet and more of the same basic pasta side. Steve's Marina is consistently good and the harbor view is always welcome, plus the service was quick and friendly, but I will say that they are overpriced for what you get. My wife and I shared an appetizer, had two entrees, and tea to drink - no alcohol or dessert. The bill total, after a normal tip, was over $100. I feel like you can get more for your money elsewhere because this just isn't a hundred dollar meal kind of place.

We were scraping the plates clean because everything was so good. This is located right on the beach across from the harbor in Long Beach, in an elevated building that has been a few other restaurants over the years. About 3/4 of it is inside seating with a smaller porch/balcony outdoor part that is also air conditioned when they close all the doors. For starters, we got a dozen grilled oysters that had this excellent garlic butter sauce and cheese added. They were average size as you can expect but much better than what we've gotten from Half Shell the past few times we went. We also got the fried alligator bites which were more tender than any gator I've ever had before, and came with an excellent dipping sauce. I ordered the seafood platter for my meal and couldn't finish it. On top of a large bed of french fries were a bunch of shrimp, oysters, hush puppies, and one large catfish filet that was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Taste of Acadiana which came with three different cajun staples including gumbo and jambalaya. I sampled some of hers and really liked them all. We went on a Friday night and it wasn't all that busy, but our service was good and they kept our drinks filled. I can't wait to go back!
