To me, this is the best food I had in this downtown area! I ordered to grilled chicken sandwich, which came with fries, and I devoured it all. The chicken was very moist and the fries were perfectly crispy. The bun also paired well with the sandwich. I loved the concept of Dan B's. It was three or four floors, which all were open and you could see the Bay, and when we went, we sat all the way at the top. At the top, there is indoor and limited outdoor seating, so we sat outside because it was a beautiful day. We ordered our drinks and food at the bar, and then our food was delivered to us. Food came out very quick, and our drinks were made pretty quickly too. There were tons of fans and TVs in this place. It was also pretty clean for a bar restaurant. Hubby and I stopped in for breakfast. You order your food at the bar and it's then brought to your table. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was pretty good though the menu stated that the shrimp and grits are made with a cream sauce. What I got wasn't a cream sauce. It was more of a tomato-based sauce that was closer to a creole type sauce. It tasted fine though it wasn't what I was in the mood for since I was looking forward to cream sauce. The reason for the two starts is due to the fact that when I received my bill, despite the shrimp and grits being listed on the menu for $14, they showed up as $14.54 on my receipt. I questioned two different workers and neither one could explain the discrepancy, nor did they offer to return the money to me. They took my name and number and assured me that a manager would call me. That was four days ago and still no call. Came for breakfast, was a buffet which is fine but....you pay downstairs then go up to second floor to eat. If I would have seen the buffet before paying $18 per person I would have left. Visited Bay Saint Louis and your establishment both for the very first time during Cruising the Coast. My husband and I have been in the bar business for 17 years and tend to really "watch" anytime we go out on the town. We noticed some things this week that we would want our customers to tell us if it was our place it was happening at. As a small business owner I am not one to write reviews, but I tried calling and could not get an answer. I will remove this if you wish. To start we were looking for some live music and wandered into your place on Wednesday night. Two bartenders working. We wouldn't have been shocked if someone told us that it was their first day ever behind a bar. Both behind the bar were CLUELESS, RUDE, and SLOW!!! Just awful. It was clear neither knew what they were doing and couldn't handle the crowd. The older man working the bar had to be the most unpleasant bartender we have both ever came across. He was unbelievably rude to not only us, but to the customers around us as well. I couldn't believe the way he was talking to your patrons. RUDE!! RUDE!!! RUDE!!! RUDE!!! We watched him throw his hands up and say f**k when a much older lady next to us was trying to order over the loud band. She ended up walking away. He does not need to be behind a bar. If we happened upon your place on any other day and he was the only bartender working we would never come back. I would hate to think about the amount of potential business you have lost due to him. I wanted to make sure you know that he is really hurting your bar and working against you. Now to the positive....on this same night my husband and I stood at the bar top for at least ten minutes waiting to be acknowledged. We were about to give up and go somewhere else but then a third bartender showed up to help. She must've sensed our frustration because she came straight to us. Very pleasant girl and it was nice to see a smile on at least someone's face. She apologized for the wait, quickly got our drinks, and to our surprise was NOT RUDE!!! If it wasn't for her we would've left and also probably all of the other thirsty customers she had to take care of due to the other two. Again we have been doing this for 17 years so please don't take this lightly. That girl is a FANTASTIC bartender!!! We watched as she treated us and those around us like we were old friends she had known forever. Really impressive and also very efficient. You can tell every little step she makes behind that bar is thought out and serves a purpose. Not to mention she made the best margarita I have ever had in my life. We stopped by again Saturday night and were almost deterred by the large crowd. She waved us down from the window and even remembered our names and drink order so we stayed. I told my husband that I wish we had her at our place in Bogalusa so that we would never have to worry. He agreed. I hope you know what a gem of an employee you have in her. Because of her we will now make Dan B's a must do on our list of places to visit when in Bay Saint Louis. Lacy if you see this you're a rockstar and made our week. You were born to do what you do. This seems like a cool bar and they also have live music. You can also find some nice views here either looking at the bay or looking into the hordes of humans that now walk about all around Bay St. Louis these days. I sampled the cheeseburger here and while the fries were alright I don't see myself ever getting the burger again as it just wasn't up to my minimum standards and really wasn't very enjoyable to eat. The burger resembled a Wendy's burger a bit but with round meat instead of square yet a Wendy's burger tastes far better than what I was served. Took a drive from NOLA to drive by the beach and look at stuff. Stopped for lunch at Dan B's, intending to go to the 3rd floor and have lunch overlooking the Gulf. Unfortunately, due to lack of employees, only floor 1 was open for seating. I ordered and sat outside. I had the shrimp salad and a couple of Coronas. The beer was cold, and tasty. I was disappointed a bit at the small sized shrimp, but overall, it was tasty, and the server was smiley and friendly. The street is nice. I like it. I will try other things here. read more

For anyone with service dogs or apart of the ADA !!!!DO NOT!!!!! go to this establishment. Upon entry, we were asked if our dog was a service dog, which we replied yes. Then when asked what service our dog provided, we the answered "he's an alert dog for blood sugar levels" as my boyfriend has diabetes. Under FEDERAL LAW by the ADA, you are not allowed to ask about the disability of the person with the service animal or for an "ID" of the animal. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. They refused us entry because we did not show an ID for our dog or have a "service dog vest" (which we could simply order on Amazon, that's not a legitimate "ID"). Attached is the info from the ADA stating you cannot ask that. My boyfriend and I try to inform people instead of a lawsuit to provide a kind and informal point of view. This is truthfully disheartening and embarrassing for anyone with a disability and has a service animal. read more

I get they can't help large orders, but what made it incredibly frustrating is nobody communicated this with us and one of the large orders got there after us. Super disappointed in service. Quite possibly the WORST charbroiled oysters I've ever eaten. Still attached to the shell. No cheese and were damn near raw. We choked down what we could but left a few uneaten. Dan B's is perfectly located with views of the marina and Bay Bridge. Inside it has a casual roadhouse type vibe and I really like it. So great views and a vibe I like, but only three stars? Yep. Those things are awesome, but my visit was for breakfast and I was not very impressed. Who knew a bar served breakfast? I didn't, but we happened to be dining nearby for breakfast when my kid saw one of her teachers. He recommended we try Dan B's for breakfast and everyone knows teachers know best right? Wrong. Due to the height requirements in the building codes, Dan B's is built very high up. Even if you can't do stairs, there is an elevator so don't let that discourage you. You could also pretend you are going up the stairs and then at the last minute take the elevator making your kids think you've abandoned them, but I don't know who would really do that. Note: I am a bad parent. So once the kids realized I wouldn't actually ditch them in a bar room, we were seated for breakfast. I ordered a western with home fries and a biscuit. It wasn't bad, but wasn't what I had expected based on the glowing recommendation we got before hand. One of the main reasons I like going out to get breakfast is that breakfast joints seem to be able to make omelets and eggs was tastier than I can. That was not the case here. Again, it was just OK. On a positive note, the kids did seem to enjoy their food and liked it way more than I did. But they can't write reviews just yet so we will have to go by my experience. Saw the Grits and Grillades and the rest of the menu disappeared before my very eyes as, clearly, there was no other option. The grits were creamy, the beef tender, the gravy was good enough to drink through a straw. Delicious. Also probably 4 million calories so, afterwards, I dove in the bay and swam to Pass Christian and back - just to balance things out a little. It was too noisy and crowded on the first floor Friday night, but we were able to sit on the third floor balcony. We had a great view of the water, we could still hear the music, but we were able to chill out and visit. Service was terrible. Food mediocre. No attempt to refill drinks until we asked. No attempt to clear the table until the used plates had been sitting there for a while. But worst of all the people who ordered crawfish were served either cold crawfish or over-cooked -supposedly "re-boiled" crawfish which was mushy and they did not receive it until over 30 to 40 minutes after everyone else at the table had been served. The people who were waiting and waiting and waiting for their food were never offered anything Such as an appetizer or something else to tide them over. Every time they asked about the crawfish they were told it would be 20 minutes and 20 minutes turned into 30 minutes or 40 minutes. It took forever literally. Awesome place on the water we go to every time we're in BSL. The crawfish were perfectly seasoned and cooked and the grilled shrimp tacos were AMAZING. Ok, so at my age and sporting a bad back, wiggling my hips a bit is my new norm. But, it felt great to get out on the floor for a couple minutes. I looked around and noticed all age groups (21+). So pleased that everyone felt comfortable enough to mingle with no preconceived notions. Lindsey went out of her way to get food to us since I didn't want to leave and their kitchen was closing. While there was a long line to order at the bar, the staff were friendly, working their tails off and doing a great job. So the good...great view, great breeze. Came in on Sunday afternoon, two tables had people, the rest were empty. Place started filling up and everyone around us got their food. Interestingly, my partner in crime was the only person of color in the place (not saying this had anything to with it not saying it didn't either...); after waiting 40 minutes and multiple inquiries (we ordered freakin fish tacos and a fish sandwich), at no time did they approach us to let us know what was going on with our food, as a matter of fact our server actively avoided us, we chose to leave. Had to come here. It seemed to be a standard place to eat in the area. I loved the location right near the ocean with great views. We took advantage and sat outside on the second floor. It was mostly empty by the time we came around 6pm. I was excited to try their crab claws, FINALLY, but they were out. So I ordered the garlic parmesan wings instead and the fish tacos. Our server was phenomenal, I really appreciated how out of her way she went to make us feel welcome. The view could not be beat. And the wings were some of the best I've had in a while. Both crispy and juicy with a great sauce that went well with the ranch/blue cheese dipping sauce. The fries were also very tasty. The only disappointment was the fish taco. The fish was a little overcooked and they filled it with iceberg lettuce and crappy Kraft shredded cheese. The mayo was super spicy. All in all that was a disappointment but I liked the experience. The bread pudding wasn't what I was expecting, there were nuts in the bread, but my boyfriend really enjoyed it. I visited Dan B's on vacation this week . I called in advance to make sure the kitchen was open and the lady on the phone was quite helpful and said downstairs was open only . I was bummed mostly because I wanted the water view but no worry's . The menu on here is not accurate even as of 10 months ago which was the latest review I could find . The menu was bar food tacos , pizza , poboys, wings . We chose wings Buffalo and parm garlic . For $9 for $6.00 kinda high prices for all the food BUT your on the water so ‍. Anyway buffalo was good but the parm garlic tasted like oil . Wings weren't very crispy IMO . They also close early at 8:00 . I also didn't find many bottle beer choices . No beer on tap . No mixed drink menu either . Honestly it was kinda bare bones and very slow . Not sure if it's a weekday thing or a Covid thing .
