She is the BEST DOCTOR I've ever had and that is saying a lot because I have a couple of chronic conditions and have seen literally more than 200 doctors! She listens patiently, discusses your illness or disease and its likely course, then discusses the options with you. With me, I feel like I go in to see her, tell how I feel and what my symptoms are, she asks a few clarifying questions and exams me, then she tells me what's wrong and discusses with me how to make it feel better and get better. She is willing to change directions when something is not working and she is also willing to "try it your way" when you come in with thoughts and ideas for a treatment plan that you want to try (as long as it it safe), even if it is not the approach that she would normally advise. She will tell you when you need more advanced or specialized care than she can provide in her office and will refer you to an appropriate specialist. She is always open and honest with her patients. Her office staff are all professional, efficient, and kind. I highly recommend her! If she is not available, Dr. Kurtis Elward, another doctor in that same practice, is also very good.

I decided to give them a try 4 years ago, partly because they were near where I live, although I…read morewas skeptical. This clinic is out in a rural area, much of their clientele are poor and sickly, salaries must be pretty low, and they have had some problems with turnover. And I would have to see a LPN or PA rather than an MD. But they have been excellent. My previous dr was a big city internist from a famous medical school who had been highly recommended, but the PA I see at Blue Ridge has been a BETTER provider. He gets to know you, his information flow is excellent on medicines, treatments, medical conditions, his knowledge is extensive and up to date, and he strikes a perfect balance between recommending options and providing information to let me make decisions. I can post questions and requests to the patient portal and they usually call me the next day with a response. Another nice touch is the lack of authoritarian status games -- the providers go by their first names. Plus the facility is very nice, the staff have been professional, and they don't make you wait a lot. My doubts were misplaced. I can recommend this facility whole heartedly.
