Just a short walk from the Marienplatz, you can easily and speedily train in from the airport. The hotel's spare, vaguely Japanese design appeals - think hardwood floors, muted colours, no superfluous object cluttering up otherwise open space - and so many of the little touches are ones I love like lavender-scented sleep spray next to your bed to spritz on your sheets, a terrific tea menu and an ambient music soundtrack that has twice helped me focus and power through work. The well-trained staff is attentive to your needs, whether they be for a classic cocktail in the lobby or internet access in your room. When I had trouble connecting to the wireless, someone was dispatched to upstairs with a CAT5 cable quicker than I could restart my MacBook! And unlike many hotels, the internets here are free (the way they should be!)

I was there on business (coming from vacation) and the airline had conveniently lost my bags. Joy. That said, I was checked in quickly and efficiently, handed a toothbrush and toothpaste by the sympathetic Front Desk and also told something about my key card -- to which I smiled and nodded (lost in translation). Upon getting to my room, I soon realized they had been telling me that my key card actually turns on the lights in my room. After several (OK, 10 minutes), of trying to figure out how, I located the thing-a-mig-jiggy by the door (technical term) and inserted my card: voila! Lights! The room itself is sparse, but has all your needs: nice bed, view of beautiful Munich, TV, cupboards, Free Internet (albeit very temperamental) and best of all: lavender sheet spray! I never figured out how to use the rain shower head, but did just fine with the other one that's in there. Hopefully future guests will have better luck. But best of all? The service AND the bar. After having many an expertly mixed cocktail in the hotel bar with my colleagues, I toddled myself over to the Front Desk in a borrowed sweater to inquire if my bag arrived. The (again) sympathetic chap said it hadn't arrived, but if I wanted, he would bring it up to me as soon as it did no matter what time. I eagerly nodded, fearing the worst: I would be arriving to my morning's meetings in sandals. But sure enough, at 4am I opened my door to see my waiting bag. Let's just say it was like Christmas had come early! After going that extra mile, the staff, convenient and beautiful location and clean interior would definitely have me excited to stay at Louis Hotel again. Let's just hope my bags come with me next time!

Clean, well managed, welcoming reception, nice room, great bed, room well equipped and a refrigerator as well. The breakfast buffett was quite good, surprisingly replete with scrambled eggs, bacon and of course sausages, this is Germany after all. When we arrived, tired in the middle of the night, the woman at the desk was surly, handing us our key card, and pointing at the elevator. It was winter and we had been on a long train to get there. We discovered paw prints leading to the bed. At least we hoped they were paw prints. They were a white substance that was smeared in places. We didn't take our socks off. I called down to the desk person who said she would look into it later. Next morning, with lights on throughout room, we had another surprise. There was a dark brown substance smeared and then dried in some places on the wooden cabinet enclosing the heater. At breakfast, another female employee said she would consult her colleague about it and the paw prints after we left for the day. After breakfast, we met the maid coming out of the room next door so I thought I'd notify her of the issues. She said it wasn't her doing, that it was a filthy, filthy room, and told me to ask for the first floor, I.e. change our quiet room for street side, where the rest of the guests were staying. She looked at the stains and said that her colleague would have to deal with them. He came in and looked at the paw prints, declaring them not really a stain. He decided we should move too. I told him we didn't want to move since we were leaving the next day. He said there was nothing he could do. As we were leaving for the day, I notified the desk clerk again that we wished to stay in the room, but could they please just clean it? When we came back, the room was clean-- no paw prints, no mystery brown ooze. That evening, we met one nice employee: a young man who asked if we'd like tea or a coffee. We said we didn't know they had tea or coffee. He said they provide it free to guests afternoons and evenings. He was quite pleasant, and the proximity to train station is convenient. However, the train goes right by Marienplatz too and the hotels are quite nice, at least they aren't in the middle of a prostitution center. If you're dead set on being close to the bahnhof, go with the Royal Hotel. The owner is great and thoughtful. Ask for a quiet room though. If you're looking for a non-smoking hotel, the Royal is better too. City Hotel had smoke on a non-smoking floor.

Yey lots of lazy staff doing nothing. The hotel is filthy. Housekeeping not stocking, that was my complaint last week. This week we have a snow storm. Clean the sidewalks so customers don't slip. It's stopped snowing. No effort to clear or clean. So bad Adding to this review as I'm here again. A bad snow storm and a rail strike so rooms are hard to find. I'm currently waiting for my room to be changed. It sounds like I'm in the middle of a wind tunnel. Crazy loud. It only stops if you open the balcony door but it's cold so that's not happening. This was my final chance for this hotel. Marriotts are not common in Munich so not a big selection and they are in awkward areas.

I've been staying here for more than 15 years, every time I visit Munich. It has been through many…read morechanges and improvement over the years, to my liking, including when Marriott acquired the Sheraton brand. My last stay prior to this was before COVID in 2019. It was fantastic. They had a nice club lounge for elite BonVoy members, and the concierge service was great. Fast forward to this year in November and it seemed like I was in a parallel universe. Everything looked the same, but was not. When checking in, they asked if I wanted breakfast instead of 500 BonVoy points. I told them I would take the points, since I have access to the lounge. She then said, "We no longer have the lounge, since Marriott downgraded this to a three star Four Points Sheraton." Strike ONE! I did manage to get an upgraded room, and this is where it gets creepy. For many years, they always seemed to put me in the exact same room. Not room type, but exact room number as the previous year. I never thought anything of it, but I had not been in that room for a while, since my previous stays were upgraded to a suite. When I entered the room, there was de ja vu. They put me in the exact room I used to stay in all the time over 10 years ago. It was like going back in time. Nothing changed, other than the lights actually worked this time. I went to settle in, and noticed I forgot to ask for an electrical adapter/convertor for the plug. I went down stairs, asked for one, and she said, "We don't loan them out anymore, but you can purchase one for 10 Euros." Strike TWO! One part of this property, I really do enjoy is the balcony overlooking the city. I like drinking a coffee in the morning on the balcony and watching the sun rise along the Alps as well as a nice night cap in the evening overlooking the city lights. All of that was ruined this trip, because my room neighbors smoked every morning and evening on their balcony right next to me. Not only was this irritating outside, I liked to leave my balcony door open to get some fresh air in the room, but instead had it filled with smoke. I complained to the staff, but nothing was done. Last I checked, smoke free property, includes balcony. But it is Europe and the smokers here don't care about the rules. Strike THREE! I have to admit, there as one improvement since my last stay. ONE! The mini fridge was empty, like all Marriott hotels. That was nice, as before it was filled with mini bar stuff, and I had to always ask them to empty it. I like this, since there is a very nice grocery store called REWE (see my review), just a block from the hotel, with cheap alcohol. Why pay 5X at the hotel? So, one night I decide to make a cocktail for the evening after a long day at the trade show. I purchased a decent bottle of vodka for only 8 Euro, and headed to the hotel. Knowing they don't have concierge service, I asked the front desk for bucket of ice, since they no longer have buckets in the room. They directed me the bar, where the bar server promptly replied, "Sure, that will be 2 Euro." At this point, I was done with being upset. I had already paid for an adapter, my breakfast (with points), and now ice. Strike FOUR! I have to say the breakfast wasn't bad (see photo), and the shower was much improved. I remember the water pressure being horrible last time. This time it was great. The Sauna, Gym, and Swimming pool are still fantastic. Thank goodness. I though I would have to pay extra for that. The dry Sauna is great, but for those who are not aware of German customs, be prepared. You can only enter the sauna naked, with a towel and it is Co-Ed. So, for you bashful types, take note. Ultimately, I plan to stay at the Westin next time. It is across the street, much nicer, has a lounge, concierge service, great Paulaner Brew House in the basement and much more. The price is a little more, but worth it. It doesn't have a balcony, but I can't say I will miss that, considering I didn't enjoy the smoke part of it this year. If I had know, I would have stayed at the Westin this trip, but all things considered, I was able to live through it. And being able to share this review for others that might have this Sheraton as their mainstay, and give them advanced notice to reconsider, makes it worth it. Parting is such sweet sorrow, but I am planning to be back in my universe next trip to Munich.

The restaurant and bar on site was quite nice and the breakfast in the same location was simply amazing. The only "con" is that it's not in the center of town but that was intentional on our part. We wanted more of a peaceful evening than a bustling city. In addition, there is a grocery store within walking distance and several great restaurants in the town. I highly recommend this hotel for both value and surroundings!

The lobby looked pretty elegant. And of course, when I see a bar located in the lobby, that always a plus in my book. We stopped in one night for a beer after work. Didn't have anything to eat, but the beers the bartender recommended was pretty good. When I walked in my room, I was pleasantly surprised how nice the room looked. It felt like being a mountain cottage. The living room and the sitting area is on one floor, and the stairs takes you to the bedroom the floor above. I got a nice king size bed in a very spacious room. There was a nice roof window where you get a great outside view from the bedroom. Bathrooms on both floors so you don't have to take the stairs in case of emergency. The room was very clean and properly maintained. Everything in the room was working, and they clean the room and make your bed everyday. Overall, it was a very nice room to say in. I am pretty sure we paid extra because we stayed during Oktoberfest, but I think the price was worth it, especially for business travelers. They also offer free breakfast, and its not just bagels and danishes with coffees. I stayed in other Holidays Inns in US before and none of them looked and felt as nice as this one. Would love to come back to Munich and stay here again!

We requested parking here and it is pretty typical tight, underground parking for downtown Munich. We had issues getting out of the parking Garage the next morning because somehow the staff never gave us a parking card to operate the gate and the gate was open when we parked, despite paying a premium parking charge. I mean you don't know what you need for these types of things if the staff doesn't explain or provide you the tools (parking card). The rooms are quite small and felt to us like a cruise ship style cabin which is ok for us since we typically lodge to sleep and shower not have an "experience". I don't think we ever figured out the air conditioning controls or if they even had air, we ended up opening our room window on the 7th floor for air. The location is quite perfect if you are looking to walk and explore the hot spots of Munich like the Marketplatz, Viktualienmarkt and historic downtown (Altstadt) sites.

The next day, the system automatically checked me out so I had to re-check in at the front desk. There was a convention in town so the line was long both times. I tried to check out early to go to a different hotel and was told I couldn't because it was an "event weekend." It seems they were under-staffed. Overall, the rooms are small and the amenities are sparse. They do have a good breakfast with lots of food options and a nice bar downstairs. But I wouldn't stay here again.

It wasn't terribly priced and was very close to the Wiesen. And as we didn't have table reservations, we wanted something close to the grounds so we could show up early. The design is very cool. Modern with a cool Bavarian charm. The staff was great and spoke very good English which helps as my German was elementary at best. The rooms are clean big enough, and have a little balcony with ample fresh air. The other amenities are good as well. The bar was small and intimate but what makes this place is the amazing German breakfast. It's everything you expect from a German breakfast and more. Grab your food and sit on the patio area to take in the morning air. Overall I was so impressed I would absolutely book again for my next Oktoberfest.

Located about 400m from nearest ubahn station. Not a bad walk down and then you're only a couple of stops from the centre of the city. Rooms are clean, the bed was comfy and there's a great shower! Breakfast was included in the room rate and is served from 7am - 10am. Great selection of continental breakfast items. Although I stuck to granola with yogurt or bread rolls with nutella - yum! Also serving good beer / cocktails in the bar which is always a nice way to finish off a busy touristy day!
