Food is a REAL let down. Avoid

So this hotel is a huge disappointment. There are some good bits like the executive lounge and the pool. But it really is utterly let down by the food offerings. Never thought I would be this disappointed in a Westin. I booked it as I am having a holiday with my daughter - this is a week I will probably never repeat in my life. I spent a lot on the room as I wanted it to be a memorable trip. Really poor. Service. Ok. There were problems with the stay and management tried to fix them. I gave up after day 2 though. Stay was already ruined. Hotel room: Again OK. I paid €264 per night for an executive club room. Frankly I was expecting it to be a little bigger. Decor was fine. Leisure facilities: Great. The pool has a sort of mini rapids. Didn't use the gym. But was impressed. Food: Absolutely awful. This is where the place completely falls down. On arrival realised that the Zen restaurant has closed down - which to be fair you can find out on the website. However they have left the hotel with 2 options. A lobby bar, and a Bavarian beer keller/restaurant. We wanted lunch on arrival. The beer keller was doing an all you can eat meat buffet. Not exactly a light lunch, so we had lunch in the lobby bar whilst there were workmen doing noisy repairs. Bit of a disaster. The next day, we went over the road to their sister hotel for dinner because the manager had invited us for free. He assured us that it was a great restaurant. Got there and was immediately worried. The restaurant was empty - 7:30pm and not one person in the restaurant. The menu came and it was awful. Really terrible options. Despite the offer of a free meal, we decided to walk out. It was that bad. By this time the night was ruined - no chance to book a decent restaurant. Instead, since it was now quite late, we opted to have dinner in the Beer Restaurant. Big mistake. The burger was dry as cardboard. The "grilled" fish (which I had triple checked as grilled with the waiter) was swimming in grease and shallow fried.

i guess i was too thirsty to take a photo before i gulped!

it's hard not to like them. weiss beer is always good! they always have specials and currently it's their festive menu. beer soup being one of them. hearty broth but the onions needed to be cooked a little longer. reminded me of french onion soup but with a beer twist to it. staple pork dishes here cannot go wrong. both their suckling pig and pork knuckles have crispy crunchy crackling! ox steak, though done to your specifications, lacks flavour. the accompanying condiments does enhance the experience a little. the festive dessert apple tartlets were lovely. cored round slices of apples fried like doughnuts coated with sugar and cinnamon. then served with plum ice cream, fresh figs and strawberries.

Worst "5 star" experience I've ever had! Our shower had black mold, out toilet and sink looked like it hadn't been clean and the front desk was not helpful. Since our stay was during Oktoberfest and a conference there was nothing they could do about our hotel. To make matters worse, I looked on TripAdvisor and reddit and other customers said the same thing! I'm uploading photos to show every how dirty our room was. I could believe how much we paid to have a dirty room. Never again.

The Westin in Munich is a very nice hotel with nicely renovated, spacey rooms at the upper floors. The staff is very nice and friendly. Beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. So one may ask why did I put only three stars. First it for not have a wow effect. Everything is ok, but not perfect. Secondly because of location. It is little far from the city center, only reachable by taxi or subway. The Arabella district is not my favorite one with some awkward architecture. You can ether have a too. With the park view on the most ugly Sheraton I have ever seen or with the city view facing... the highway. So there is no way you have your window open. This means second star off for me. So I give an ok rating. If the price is good, I am happy to come back when on business. Nonetheless this is far from my "preferred choice"...

My friend forgot her phone in our cab when we were dropped off at Hofbraehaus. This hotel was the last known location of the missing phone according to Find My Phone and of course it was gone when we arrived. Akram Mhamdi and Ibrahim Husseini were gracious enough to help us not only track the cab driver down but spoke to him and had him deliver our friend's missing phone. One of them let us use their personal cell phone to call the missing phone which probably cost some money considering it was an international call (we're from the US). They even offered to give us some money to pay the cab driver when he returned the phone. By the way, we aren't even staying at this beautiful hotel. We are mere strangers to them but they went out of their way to help us. The hotel itself is beautifully located near the city center and is so close to a lot of the famous landmarks Munich has to offer. I would definitely book here when I come back to Munich.

Great food for breakfast--- $39 euro per person, ouch!!!

The service was personal, and professional by the concierge and the bellman and breakfast staff. The front desk & housekeeping was "a hot mess". The breakfast was $40 a person with excellent variety but by US standards very high. The management at the front desk was completely incompetent.

Deluxe accommodations very nice and so close to metro and stores makes this a wonderful location. Jogging trails at your back door and a spa if you prefer to stay in. The staff very friendly and knowledgable checking in is fast easy cheesy.

Easy access to train to get downtown. Lounge is second to none. Always get a room upgrade. I will be back.

Somewhat outdated place. Ugly concrete architecture. Staff very friendly and knowledgable though. Not my first five star choice in Munich.

The room was very nice and so was the bathroom. It was nice and warm over in the room and bathroom. Also there was a grocery store across the street and it was the best grocery store I have ever been too. The location is pretty good but not super close to main part of Munich. We walked to Marienplatz in like 20 minutes. The breakfast looked amazing but it was expensive. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It's a small hotel, but has great attention to detail. First, the design was warm, calming, and overall comfortable. I also liked the aesthetic, which felt a little Parisian (?). It was somewhere between modern and traditional (if that's possible), but most of all was cohesive. Everything just belonged together. The small garden was beautiful and peaceful and well-kept. The premise and staff exuded a pride of ownership and service, which I always appreciate. While the breakfast may not have been as elaborate as some larger hotels, it was fantastic. As an aside, it's nice to have everything included (the mini bar, breakfast, etc.). Even the sauna and steam room were a nice amenity. Other examples of attention to detail... the electrical outlets included adapter for different plugs including USB-C. The bathroom included a table for additional counter space. The front desk included frog gummies (frog was their theme). Who thinks of all this? All these little thoughtful details really demonstrate care. If I had to critique, I would suggest a few more equipment for the gym; it was a little lacking. Overall, great place.

We booked our stay months in advance. For my hotel reviews, I like dividing my thoughts into two,…read morethe pros and the cons. The pros: the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. It is similar to the Residence Inns in the US where there is a kitchen area. There is a grocery store in the ground floor of the building. The only thing is it is closed on Sundays. The breakfast selection is decent and was included in the price we paid. The train station is within walking distance so that is certainly convenient. Staff is multilingual and we found them to all be accommodating. The cons: if you plan on walking to the city center, you may find it to be far. If you arrive kind of late for check-in, you may find it tedious to go up the stairs since you won't have a key card yet. I suggest having someone watch your luggages while you check in, if possible. I recommend getting the single day pass (€9.70) or if you're staying for more than 3 days, it might be more economical to consider the week pass (€22.40). The pass is activated if you purchase it online through the MVGo app. It works for the bus, tram and trains and it's pretty easy to figure out from the app.
