Feels a little weird to be reviewing a CVS on Yelp, but I'll accept anything is possible in this day and age. My only complaint here is that the line to pick up prescriptions can get pretty long at times. Maybe they could add on another pharmacist at "peak times", whatever those may be? Seeing as though this location is mainly frequented by U of M students, I would imagine they could estimate demand based on the academic calendar, at least. Nonetheless, everyone is always really nice here, notably helpful, and I've had great experiences at Minute Clinic. It's in a fairly crappy space on State Street near where the "unsavorable" Ann Arbor residents hang out but they manage to keep it nice and organized and clean. For juxtaposition, take a look into the Chipotle which manages to look like it should be condemned by the health agency most of the time. Also, this CVS has great deals from time to time, where it's actually cheaper for me to get snacks sometimes here than the grocery store. Haribo is almost always 2/$4. I like that it has self checkout as well which puts it a point above Walgreens. And discount candy after the holidays. read more

First their on-line app is horrible. Second, just try getting a person on the phone. Third, they do not follow through, such as for prior authorizations. Fourth, they do not answer questions in a sensible way, totally worthless answers. Fifth - bad service overall. Can't think of a positive thing to say. read more

CVS has the highest prices for most medications. Same RX's filled at Meijer or Walmart from 5 % to 45 % less. Their much higher initial cost insures that any senior citizen on 4 meds will find themselves in the donut hole by May and paying exorbitant prices for SEVEN months every year. RUN read more

A++++ The staff at the CVS Pharmacy on S. State Street are always welcoming and helpful, and they go out of their way to make sure you get the best possible service. The store is clean and organized, and the pharmacists are knowledgeable and efficient. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for my prescriptions, and the prices are fair. The MinuteClinic on the second floor is also a great resource for quick medical care. The store is conveniently located near many other shops and restaurants, so you can easily make a day of it if you need to run errands after picking up your prescription. Upon graduation from MSU, I visited my twin sister at UofM for her graduation. We wanted to make a quick stop somewhere close to grab some celebratory drinks. When we went to check out, we asked the lady working if we could have her check us out for ID purposes. She rudely said we can just use the self-checkout kiosks instead and she could check my ID there. (She was not busy and could have checked us out. She was simply standing there). After scanning our items, my lovely sister realized she had forgotten her ID at home (she had it with her this morning in her pocket for the graduation ceremony and left it on the table). We thought it would be fine because I was the one paying so I was the one who needed the ID, not my sister-- even though she is in fact 22 and GRADUATED from the university this very morning (so am I). I would attach pictures, but I feel as if this is not someting that needs to be proven. When the lady came over to check my ID, she asked to see my sister's as well because we were "shopping together". My sister then calmly stated she had forgotten hers at home and we did not think this was going to be an issue, as she was not the one paying. So, the lady proceeded to act very rude and not considerate and gave us an unprecedented and lengthy explanation (I felt as if I was being reprimanded) as to why. Her tone of voice was short, snippy, and rude. We complied with what she said, but she continued to press the conversation further when we had already agreed that we would simply not buy them. We understood the policy, however, the way she handled it was terrible and made it feel like it was our fault when we were unaware of the policy. It was a very frustrating and disappointing situation and when she left, she forgot to take the drinks off of the system so we then waited 5 more minutes for her attention so she could remove the charge. The only plus of this experience was that I had a $10 off coupon so we got our nonalcoholic drinks nearly for free. Rest assured, this CVS location will not be seeing my business again, nor will it see my sister's (Who is an Ann Arbor local and before this ordeal shopped there quite frequently). I made an appointment at the minute clinic a day before and showed up 15 minutes before my time like the confirmation said, but it wouldn't let me check in until 5 minute before my time. after checking in I waited 20 minutes and asked the pharmacy what's going on. They had no idea and after waiting 35 minutes after my time still not having anyone saying anything I cancelled. Don't go to the minute clinic even with an appointment if you have plans for the rest of the day you'd like to keep. read more

Yup, seems like a pretty standard CVS. It is in a very convenient location (5-10 minute walk from most parts of Central Campus) and seems to be on average cheaper than Village Apothecary. The layout is a bit confusing, and it took me a while to figure out how to get upstairs and leave my first visit here. It also takes me forever to find what I'm looking for, or to figure out that they don't carry what I have. And for future reference, the Clif Builder's (protein) bars are about twice as expensive here as they are at Kroger... and I think a few cents more expensive than at Village Apothecary. read more

All hail to the CVS MinuteClinic. While traveling to Detroit my nagging sore throat turned into a raging fever, feeling-like-I-was-swallowing-razorblades-sore throat. I was a total (and literal) hot mess when I dragged myself upstairs to this CVS' MinuteClinic. After checking in on the (very convenient) digital screen and waiting my turn, nurse practitioner Elizabeth basically saved the day for me. She noted all my concerns, took my temperature, examined my very angry throat, and administered a rapid strep test, that turned out to be positive. (insert crying emoji). She was thoughtful, patient and called an MD just to be sure her intended prescription was spot on for my parameters. After going through my medical history and discussing potential antibiotics for the nursing mom that I am, she wrote me a prescription and sent me on my way. While it took 24 hours to start feeling a bit better, I am eternally grateful that I didn't wait any longer to get those glorious antibiotics into my system. 5 stars for an awesome nurse practitioner at the Ann Arbor CVS. read more

Considering Michigan is not full of big cities, this CVS Pharmacy's layout seems rather out of place. It's two levels, which is a good way to manage space, but getting to and from the second level can be somewhat tricky. When I went in, the escalators weren't functioning properly, and the elevator was getting used a lot! Otherwise, this is still a CVS. Like some of its friend in Chicago, they have a few U-Scan registers. Another pro is that the store is open until midnight. I have yet to use their pharmacy, but I will be gladly give them my next prescription, even though Village Apothecary is closer. read more

As many have noted, this is just your standard CVS. However, I write this review to point out that this location now carries a good stock of KT Tape. This is somewhat of a niche sports therapy item. As someone with persistent sports injuries, it's great to know I can just walk in and pick up some more instead of ordering online or going out of my way to a sport specific store. Furthermore, after a quick search of prices online, it's actually a few dollars cheaper at CVS. Enjoy Athletes! read more

I had the first positive pharmacy experience ive had in a long time. They were friendly, efficient, and customer oriented. The pharmacist, i believe it was Nahra, was very helpful. She explained to me the customer orientes nature of the CVS pharmacy which i appreciate. The staff was willing to fill my prescription immediately but i told them i would pick it up later. Highly anticipated since construction broke ground last year, students have been pumped for a connivence store with a great location-myself included. It is also much more convenient to pick up prescriptions a hop, skip and jump away from the diag. Location, location, location! I shipped him his insulin a few days ago and he ran out last night but his shipment won't get to him until Wednesday, and today you team helped me a great deal by immediately contacting his Dr. in Sunny So Cal and making certain he was able to get a prescription filled today. As a mom 2400 miles away the extra mile you put in really helped my nerves especially with the unlimited number of calls you received from me today. Great location....everything else is BAD!! Almost all prices seem to be substantially higher than even other CVS; while I do not know if they are higher than other cvs stores, it appears that way. Of course, the prices are higher than other stores. They do a good job exploiting the University community. The check-out stations do not show the discounts. Often, you have to call the staff and they go through a lot of screens to know the final price and more screens to know the discount on individual items. The discounts have a lot of fine-print. The staff and the manager is very unhelpful and they do not care. It appears they just want exploit the location. The store jacks-up the price and gives back a fraction of discount with their store card. In addition, the pharmacy is NOT 24hrs; the most important value they can bring. I think, the city must insist on this, if they want give such a prime location. In summary --- Convenience: YES Value: NO Service: NO read more

I will never be returning to this CVS and fully expect the employee who I had to deal with to be fired. I came into the store this morning to get a container of wet dog food for my dog, who is my service animal. Every time I have gone into the store prior I have brought her with and there has been no comment made. This time, however, I walked straight back to the dog section and while looking at the merchandise was approached by an older male employee with glasses. He barked at me that no pets were allowed in the store. I informed him politely that she was my service animal (she was not wearing her vest due to chafing). After informing him he started badgering me with questions with a lot of rude attitudes. These questions included things like: what is she for, is she a mental service animal, where is her documentation, etc. I politely informed him that actually, he cannot ask such questions legally under the Americans with Disabilities Act. I told him he could legally ask me two questions which I happily provided him with the answers to promptly after telling him the questions. He decided to respond by becoming extremely combative and trying to argue with me about what he could and could not ask me and what was required to be a service animal. He was EXTREMELY rude during the whole proceeding so I informed him again that what he was asking was not legal and walked away. During this whole engagement, my animal was sitting by my side completely silent as she is trained to do. This is completely unacceptable, not to mention illegal. This employee either skipped the disability training or never got any, ​to begin with. I am well aware of what is within my rights with a service animal and having to engage in a debate about them is not what should be happening when I go out in your store. read more

I cannot say for the 1st floor of this CVS (2 stories, pharmacy and clinic are on the 2nd floor) because I went here for the minute clinic. This was the first time I have ever used this service and I called before I showed up to see what the wait time was. The woman on the phone was extremely helpful and polite, she informed me there was 1 person with a 1 minute wait. By the time I got there there was nobody waiting, I signed in at a kiosk and within a few minutes the nurse practitioner was ready to see me. The exam room was very clean and the N.P was polite, intelligent and respectful. I left the room with a smile on my face! I would say that's a pretty good outcome- go in sick and come out happy! Then the scary part: the pharmacy. Not here, the pharmacist was really quick and professional. The techs were super nice and the wait was about only about 15 mins. but the price was the best part, super cheap even for someone without insurance. Overall, my experience here was fantastic and I have never felt that way after leaving a.)doctor's office b.)urgent care c.)any CVS, ever. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the layout was somewhat confusing and the strange man in the CVS uniform standing in the doorway staring blankly at people and mumbling was supposed to be "greeting" and it almost made me turn around and walk out before I gave the clinic a chance.
