when i worked in the downtown section of brooklyn for almost 20 years i would crash at my coworkers crib a few times a week while he stayed over his girlfriends pad and the local cvs was my morning pit stop for snacks and drinks before i started my work day. good size parking lot , spacious inside with plenty of aisles and shelves stocked with the typical cvs stuff. i always notice the pharmacy section in the back was always busy with customers as well as the rest of the store as its near the subway station and it was the only drug store in the area . i did tend to hang around the magazine section a little longer then i should of but why buy people magazine or the national enquirer when you can read it for free . the line to check out was always long as i recall as the self service machines were not installed yet during my daily morning visits . glad this cvs is still around at its 18th ave location , good memories of my brooklyn work days as i drive by . read more

I had to move my prescriptions to this location because the cvs on 18th ave closed. I don't understand how long it takes to reach out to a doctor to get a prescription changed from 30 days to 90. Good thing I have extra because it was due for refill on Jun9th, it is now the 21st and we are talking about diabetic meds. My eye Dr. also sent a prescription in for me on the 18th because I had some eye surgery and I called them today to check the status and they tell me its not covered but the insurance suggested other eye drops do I want them to reach out to my dr. DUH, shouldn't they have called me or my Dr. right away, what do they do just disregard the prescription. Oh, they are also about 20 blocks from me where the one on 18th was only about 5 and I don't drive, when I tried to do the free delivery they claim they have they told me I live too close, yet 18th avenue was closer and delivered for me when I couldn't get there. I am seriously looking to change my pharmacy because at this rate I could be blind or worse dead. read more

Its a hit or miss at this location sometimes they have what your looking for, but the majority of time they dont. Ive been looking for this one product and its like they never have it. My husband has to go to the city just to get the item. As for the staff they are very helpful in locating items for you. The pharmacy department has gone downhill of course. Came to get a flu shot I was told they werent giving out anymore since they were behind schedule by 2 hrs. I wasnt coming back tomorrow just to get it walked to Rite Aid and got one less than 5 mins. read more

The customers service in this CVS is completely unprofessional the employees dont know how to treat people with respect there's a certain worker who is always following people saying that they are trying to steal..and it's not true the employees have no manners and are very disrespectful they never want to help the customers the store is always a mess most of them is always on their phones and there is a elder woman who is very rude and disgusting nd she tends to curse and uses offensive words in front of childern and when you try to speak to a manager they just simply tell the customer that they are wrong and there is no apology for there actions I dont want to give any stars to this store I believe CVS should just hire better employees who are respectful and who care about their job read more

I used to go to the one on Nostrand and Parkside Avenue where there's little or none available parking and the staff was incompetent (including the pharmacy) as well. This one at New Utrecht Avenue is convenient due to easier parking and the staff is usually helpful (you might need to be stern about what you want at times, but it's ok). The place is decent and they got most of the stuff a person could use and the pharmacy usually got the meds you need for daily living. read more

Lately the service has started to go down hill. A few weeks back I put in a reorder and was told ten minutes. 20 minutes later it was another 15 and so on until I left. This was for a simple Motrin script. Then Friday i get a call that my daughters allergy mess are ready for pickup. I said I would be in within the next few days because it was the weekend and I was away. Today is Monday and guess what? They put it back on the shelf. Come on what the heck is going on?!?!! I think it's time to move to Walgreens and give them a shot. read more

The pharmacy have great discount but the employees and managers have bad costumer service they always have bad attitude and they are rude!!!. Yesterday i went to buy some stuff and I ask for a cvs card so I can have discount well the lady give me the card with a attitude and plus on top off the attitude the didn't even work so I got mad and I leave and throw the card away and went to another pharmacy!! When u go in to the pharmacy they said hi and hello to you but when I ask them for help they treat you with a nasty attitude!! That manager need to do something to fix those people as the same as him his attitude is very nasty!! Never again read more

This review is for the pharmacy where you pick up your medications. I was just there with my mother, and while I was treated with courtesy, she was treated abhorrently. She was picking up some medication, as she had just had surgery performed on her jaw. She was heavily sedated, clearly so. I believe anyone with a degree in pharmaceutics would be able to infer this, based off of the prescriptions she was picking up and the trouble she had moving her jaw to speak. Despite this, the technician was incredibly rude and impatient with her. He was not wearing a name tag, but he was a young man of asian descent. He brushed off her questions and rolled his eyes when she took a moment to choose between credit and debit while paying for her prescription. There was absolutely no line behind us. Incredibly uncalled for. Furthermore, their pen for signing was broken, so he instructed her to use her fingers to sign. Again, the woman was heavily sedated, so she took a moment. After all, it's not her fault that this shoddy establishment was serving its customers with broken equipment. He barked at her that she had ten fingers, and to pick one. Appalling. If you enjoy being treated with dignity, stay far away. Again, he treated me just fine. I think another factor is that English is not my mother's first language. This calls for more patience, not a lack of it. Is it not within the realms of common sense to be courteous to customers? I moved into this neighborhood 11 years ago and have been a customer at this CVS for a very long time. Never again. Walgreen's now has my business. read more
