Located at Lawrence and Central, this CVS can be a convenient place to stop by when you're in the Jefferson Park/Portage Park area. The store itself is a little less comparable to other CVS locations, but they have the Minute Clinic, the photo services, as well as the selections of snacks, medicine, and other essentials. The only issue is is the exiting of the place, as getting onto Central can be a pain with the traffic; your best bet is to exit on the Lawrence side. I visit this location often. I was there 09/14/20 & it was stress free. I found everything I was looking for (even items I wasn't). The store was well stocked. Precious the cashier was friendly & had people enjoying their experience. I love seeing that especially during these times. I didn't have any problem w/ my EB or clipped coupons. There is nothing overwhelmingly wrong with the store itself. I think most of the people in the pharmacy are friendly enough. My problem is the nasty bathroom. I went in there several months ago and had a pretty bad experience. I didn't want to go in but I was desperate. I had to go in yesterday and was not looking forward to it but I was nauseous after some dental work. My mother went in first to see if it was clean. She directed me not to even LOOK in the direction of the toilet. She said the toilet was filled to the brim. Ewwww! She tried to flush but the handle was broken. Apparently, tons of people were using the toilet anyway even though it wasn't working. It is disgusting that an employee would not put an out of order sign up on the door. I am not sure if the bathroom is also for employees, but I have seen some go in before, so clearly they use it. You can't tell me that not a single employee noticed the bathroom needed to be closed. The rest of the bathroom isn't much better. It is so nasty and filthy! read more

This is for the Minute Clinic portion of CVS. I've read a few posts where people didn't have a good experience. This is unfortunate because I've been here several times since moving to the area. Each time I've had to come here, I was treated well and the diagnosis/treatment I received help me to get better quickly. During my times coming here I've had a couple different RN's and both were extremely friendly and professional. read more

They will deny you medical car or admittance into store even if you test negative for Covid 19. I had an ear infection that spread to me sinuses which was causing a fever. All medical licenses should be revoked by the state for denial of helping sick people. read more

I went into this CVS for a TB test. Now I remember why I never go to CVS; my services were wonderful at the initial test the NP was friendly and informative. I wish I knew her name but I didn't catch it. I went in today for reading of my test, signed in. Waited. Waited. Waited. After about 15 minutes a practioner comes out of Beena Lopez NP office seemingly frazzled. She asked me and another patient if we signed in. I had and the other hadn't. The other goes to sign in and the practioner asks her name and asks when her appointment is and she didn't know. Again the practioner tells her "never mind I'll see you". Mean while I'm all set, ready, and signed in. I inform the woman I have a 10:00 appointment and it's well past at this point. The practioner tells me to come in and to quote her "gimme your license and insurance!" I tell the practioner she's being rude by saying "gimme". And then she backtracks and says, "I said please." My husband interjects and states "you said gimme twice.". She then tells me "whatever!". She asks why I've come in and explain for my TB test results. I show her the arm and she shakes her head and grabs my other arm. I ask what is she doing and she responds looking for the TB test spot. Again I explain what arm it's on and hold out my original arm. At this point I'm voicing I'm uncomfortable. She tells me to be quiet so she can look. And then says she doesn't see anything. I point it out and again she shakes her head and tells me I have to speak to Beena Lopez NP. I explain everything to Beena Lopez NP and she states, "maybe it's my colleagues language barrier". At this point I'm in shock! I said I would have shared the language I speak if it was asked. Then Beena Lopez NP lists questions I answer clear and concise. She then shames me and tells me "You're yelling and can you just speak normal." I'm shocked. At this point I just want to get the hell out but I still don't have my license or insurance card. I explain I'm answering questions, I'd like to have my items returned and she rescans. I ask why my information is being rescanned and it's shared it wasn't before and I explain it has been and I'm concerned about identity theft. Beena Lopez NP gets angry with me sharing and states, "I'm not stealing anything!" I explain I was not saying she was I was concerned just why my information is being scanned repeatedly. Beena Lopez NP and her colleague are awful, rude, and discriminatory!!!! read more

CVS minute clinics, worse than socialized medicine. Already reticent to come here based on past experience but an open testing appointment brought me here. Admittedly, we went to the wrong CVS 10 minutes away. My mother and I had testing appointments 20 minutes apart so by the time we arrived at this CVS, I had already missed mine. We were 2 minutes past her scheduled time and because of this, the med care assistant refused to see her. She claimed they give "20 minute assessments that take the entire time and that patients will be showing up soon for their appointment". No patients were there, the minute clinic was empty, only staff members that were talking amongst themselves. If these appointments do in fact take 20 minutes, then we were well within the window for my mom's appointment so no other appointments should have overlapped with hers anyways. It was simply a matter of pure laziness, this employee had no desire to render "care". If it takes you 20 minutes to administer a nasal swab that takes seconds, you're doing something wrong. This place is trash, poor quality service with employees that aren't very keen on problem solving. They expect you to show up 15 minutes early, when they don't hold themselves to the same timely standard. Will never be back. CVS is floundering. read more

This has got to be the worst CVS pharmacy in the system. At least for me. First RX was lost in transfer from another CVS that closed. Second RX was not available because their computer system was down and they would not let me pick it up. Not giving them a third chance, mostly because of how poorly these 2 situations were handled. I had to contact a different CVS and arrange to have RX transferred/filled. This CVS did NOTHING to assist. Pharmacy wasn't even taking calls during the shut down. What the hell?? Who is running this show?? I recommend you go elsewhere. read more

I typically don't expect much from a CVS, they have consistently slow service, bad customer service, and I've just never felt all that welcome as a customer, more like I'm just another burden on the employee. I always know if I go into a CVS I'm going to wait awhile to get checked out if there's even one person ahead of me in line, but this last time takes the cake. I stopped in this store because I was helping a family member move, it was directly on my way and I was just going to get a few bottles of water and an energy drink. Went in, grabbed my items, went to get in line. There's already a lady with the many items from her cart already put onto the counter, waiting to check out. I look over, and there's an employee working on whatever computer or machine is on the end of the counter (I'm guessing photo). I give it a count of about twenty, then clear my throat loudly. "I'll be with you guys in a minute." At this point, I look at my watch. I've already been waiting let's say 20 seconds, and I give another 60. The employee is still working on whatever machine she's on and hasn't even looked up. This employee obviously has no grasp on the concept of customer service. I put my drinks down and go across the street to get what I need. I could probably have just walked out with my items, as she was so oblivious, but fortunately for her I'm not like that. I'm done with CVS. Even if I'm in a hurry and have to go out of my way, I will go somewhere else. read more

Review is for the CVS Minute Clinic I went here recently and the nurse practitioner on duty was incompetent. I thought she must be giving the previous patient a lot of attention considering she was in there for an hour, but this assumption was unfortunately very wrong. I went into the office after this other patient and the nurse had me take a seat near the computer (which she is not savvy with whatsoever). At this point, she went through all of her standard checklists supplied by CVS... Often seriously mis-marking items (marked that I have HIV, diabetes, etc... None of which I have) and marked the box claiming I'd refused to give my weight (I'm 104 lbs. by the way). She even put in the wrong diagnosis because she didn't understand the difference between various types of illnesses. Needless to say, I now have print-outs to treat a problem I don't have. In addition to this, all the information she gave me was read directly from the screen pertaining to a diagnosis that wasn't correct. How this nurse is licensed to practice anything is beyond me. I honestly felt like the guy in Idiocracy when he went to St. God Hospital. read more

What happened to the above reviewer (PW B) with the Minute Clinic nurse is inexcusable and possibly malpractice. This upsets me because I have always had excellent service there for me and my child. The nurse I have used is great and doesn't just read the wrong diagnosis from the computer. The nurse I had diagnosed me quickly and accurately and even took me to the medicine aisle and showed me which OTC drugs and generics were best for me. I also went in with a spec in my eye. She looked and confirmed that it was there but she did not bill me because she could not treat me. I had to go to an immediate care center with special eye scanning equipment. I appreciate the above review and will be careful the next time I go there. It was a great convenient and affordable service. I hope it isn't going downhill. I also hope I never meet this horrible nurse and I will report her if I have a similar problem. I will update this review if my 5star experience changes. read more

Terrible customer service. Photo determined that my picture order looked like an ID photo, even though I was printing my own image (artwork really) on a 4x6 photo. So they call me to say that they will charge me over $11 for just that one picture. Who are they to determine what my picture is about - there is. Itching special about ID photos in their handling or processing... And neither is my artwork that frames faces in 2x2 boxes. Simply absurd. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere who wants to earn repeat business. This is disappointing because CVS always was the fried my underdog in my mind - they lost my confidence. read more

There is nothing minute about the minute clinic. Signed my son in and it said 15 minute wait time, been waiting almost 2 hours. I'm not sure if the doctor is performing surgery inside the room to the other patients. The wait is ridiculous. I will never come back here. There is nothing "minute" about the Minuteclinic. 4 hour wait times? They will allow you to leave and text you when they're ready for you. With 4 hour wait times, one might be better off going to the ER or morgue first. read more
