I knew there was a reason as to why I avoided this location until now. The only reason I came here while it was downpouring was that it was open 24 hours and hopefully would have the items that I needed. The main reason that I try to avoid this location is simple for that, the location. It's in the midst of the university and they require you to pay in the parking lot, unless you wanted to chance it and run in with hopes that you won't get caught. I chanced it on this day, since it was downpouring. We ran inside and looked for what we needed. It took a moment to find what we needed and then we had to wait in the line to checkout. That took forever as they had the registers set to minimum. Ran out of the store to get back into my vehicle to figure out how to get out of the parking lot. Unless you go to U of M, I would suggest avoiding this location at all costs and go up the road in any direction. read more

I had a 2:45 pm appointment for a COVID and flu shot. I arrived at the pharmacy and checked in for the flu shot in the correct area. The staff member told me to hold on, so I waited for 15 minutes. After that, he simply said their system was down. I'm not sure if there was a language barrier, but there were no other customers and no sense of urgency to help. In Nia DaCosta's 2023 film, 'The Marvels,' Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan head to the planet they believe will be the Kree's next target because Aladna is 99.7% covered in water (and the Kree's Capitol planet, Hala, is dying from a lack of resources). That ridiculous plot device, the 99.7% certainty of it all, very much resembles the certainty of being on automatic refills for a prescription that one gets three-month's worth at a time only to find out that, by the time the prescription can be filled, CVS is not only "out of stock" but does not know when the item will be be able to be refilled. In this case, the pharmacy at 7300 Baltimore Ave, in College Park, Maryland knew with 100% accuracy three months ago that I would need it. There wasn't even .3% possibility that I wouldn't, so how did they let it go out of stock not just for me but for all of their other customers who were on "automatic refills" for the same prescription? In 'The Marvels,' DaCosta also thought it would be amusing if the only way for our three heroes to talk to any of Aladna's inhabitants besides Prince Yan (Carol's spouse in a marriage of convenience?) is to sing. Who needs those and these complications? I transferred the one prescription elsewhere, upon CVS's suggestion; and I am waiting to see if I eventually have to transfer the rest of my family's prescriptions elsewhere also. Contrary to the other reviews, I had a positive experience here. I walked in and read the various signs trying to find the vitamins when an employee asked me what I was looking for. I told her vitamins and she knew exactly where they were and pointed me in the right direction. I was able to find everything I was looking so the shelves were adequately stocked. Also, the gentleman checking me out informed me that my vitamins were buy one get one! I don't know how I missed that but I'm surely glad he informed me. There's a sign on the meter now that says 2 hours free. Perhaps they heard the complaints and acted accordingly. read more

This CVS location is open 24 hours and have plenty of parking in the lot! So convenient! I came by to grab some beverages. Went straight to the back side and saw a variety of sodas and juices. I wanted to stock up on Coca-Cola, but the store had so many options (amazing) that I couldn't choose, so I brought several options up to the front counter. Since I was only in town for a week, I wanted to stock the fridge, but not overdo it. Artie, the cashier was so helpful and sweet. He checked what specials CVS currently had and even tried to upsell me to buy two 12 packs and get a 3rd box free. Lol. Artie was a good salesman, but I had to decline and only got the 12 pack of Coke. He made the visit to CVS very pleasant and was extremely accommodating. I'm not a fan of this location. Been coming here forever - like literally since I was a student at UMD, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here at all. There is usually only one employee working the store whenever I'm here and they expect you to use the self checkout. I was only here recently because another CVS I passed was closed and I knew this one would be open. Half of the items I needed I couldn't even locate and the one employee working (poor guy) had to help other customers. For a college town store, they need to do better! read more

The staff assisting me at the self checkout seemed annoyed I needed help using the coupon from my email. The email did not have a barcode to scan as he said it should be there. Before paying, the screen did not show the $4 discount I wanted to use. After he helped me, I overheard him complaining to another staff to the effect of "customers don't listen to me and I can't stand around here forever to help them". The screen does not make clear which coupon to use. That is not the fault of customers. I will not recommend anyone going to that CVS with rude staff. read more

I came to this shopping plaza to go to the new &pizza location. Because of an elite Yelp event I was able to try their pizza on this Friday evening! The CVS store is just a couple of doors down from the restaurant. My birthday is in February and I had been given $3 in CVS extra care bucks. On top of that I had an additional $1 more from the end of 2021 on my CVS card. I was there to get peanut m&m's. I'd been craving them since my daughter & granddaughter came home with an almost empty bag earlier in the week. She bought them marked down after Valentine's day. I only had a few minutes to get in and out of the store. This shopping plaza is located on Baltimore Ave. in College Park. I'm glad there is a parking lot but the feet is $0.75 per hour (you enter your slot number and pay by cash or card). I did not want to pay for an extra hour just for cheap m&m's. The share size bags are on sale this week for $3.50 each when you buy 2 bags for $7. My discount made them about $1.50 each. Oh yeah! Plus I feel a lot less guilty when I eat almost a whole bag at one time. This is an older medium size store that was remodeled. I saw an employee standing by the store entrance when I entered. After I quickly grabbed my 2 bags of candy I found out why. He was directing people to a self checkout station that was open. There are 3 maybe 4 of them. On the left side as you enter is the full service checkout counter & the photo department. Seasonal and candy aisles are across from here. The self service stations were so efficient asking me about every single extra care discount on my card once I pushed the "pay" button. I was out the door and in my car in plenty of time. My biggest problem with this place isn't exactly a problem with this place. Why do you have to pay to park here? When I come to CVS, normally it takes all of 30 seconds to get what I need and you. No one ever walks around in a CVS like they're going through Costco and taking 2 hours. This CVS does have nice items but it's different than the CVS in Baltimore city. I was looking for corn syrup and paper towels. No corn syrup but they had organic agave, organic coconut oil and organic sugar. I was pretty excited about the organic stuff except it wasn't what I needed. I left not getting the paper towels either. I had no interaction with anyone working there which isn't a big deal, but normally I could go to CVS for the basics, which obviously come at a premium price, but they didn't have the basics. Again, I know it wasn't CVS's doing, but the pay for parking is BS. This isn't downtown DC, this is college park MD where the majority of your customers are students. read more

This is definitely the worst CVS I've ever been to, and I'd be surprised to hear that anyone has been to one that could compete. I am a student at UMD, but I am originally from New Jersey. I have 2 prescriptions that need to be filled monthly, and it is a pain to switch them back and forth between pharmacies... Especially when one of them is College Park CVS. This month in particular, I had a horrible experience. I called ahead to get my prescription refilled at this CVS, and the woman on the phone said it would be ready in 30 minutes. A few hours later, I showed up at CVS, and none of the pharmacy employees knew what I was talking about. So, I kept my cool and asked them to fill it and went off to do other things. I came back the next day and again, they did not have my prescription. This time, they said it was an insurance issue. My question is why wasn't I called when the insurance issue arose? So, a third time I asked them to refill it and finally 1/2 hour later I had my prescriptions. What they do not understand is not only do I not have time, as a college student, to be waiting at CVS to make sure they do their job correctly, but prescriptions are also very time sensitive! This was definitely the worst experience I've had here, but it was not an isolated incident. The process almost never goes smoothly. If you have a choice, don't use this CVS, but unfortunately most of us don't have a choice. read more

If i could give this zero stars I would. Quite possibly the most unprofessionally run cvs i have ever seen. I sent pictures to be developed which only take 1-2 weeks. I checked back on week 2, week 3 and on and on UNTIL 4 MONTHS LATER. I get a call that my photos are ready for pickup. I moved away from this location and when I asked how or why it could have possibly taken 4 months .. the person o spoke to was dead silent and had no answers. Some of the staff are clearly not doing their job correctly because this isnt the first time ive heard about an issue like this with this location. When i called the Cvs customer service line they said they would redirect my photos to a cvs near me if Obtain envelope code from this location. When I spoke so a "supervisor" from this location he was insistent that he could not help me and my photos were not there. After demanding they check in case my photos were still there. The "supervisor" continued to give me the wrong code, purposely or not; When i called back to get the correct envelope code I was told I would be sent a text photo with all info I need. 30 Minutes went by , I never received it even though I knew that Is not the way it should be done. The "supervisor" said he was busy ; as if there are no other staff members in the whole store. BOTTOM LINE THIS PLACE IN UNSERIOUS . THEY ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOB CORRECTLY. THEY HAVE NO LOG BOOK OF CUSTOMER INFO FOR PHOTO SERVICES LIKE THEY SHOULD. EVERYONE IN THE PHOTO DEPARTMENT Or ANYONE WHO HANDLES FILM NEEDS TO BE RE-TRAINED OR FIRED. PERIOD. read more

I went in with a prescription that was going to cost $200.00 after insurance. The pharmacist, I wish I had gotten her name, alerted me to a coupon and helped me get it on my phone. With the coupon, it was free. The pharmacist was quite busy at the time and still took the time to get me the discount. Totally a 5 star day for me. read more
