This is the most biased, unprofessional, and illiterate group of pharmacy staff I've ever had the displeasure to do business with in years. I'm in chronic pain and have been for over 15 years. It's not a life I have chosen, especially since chronic pain patients on opioids are treated like criminals and crazed drug users. CVS's policy is now to wait for the 31st day to fill your prescription, in the afternoon of course, so the patient must wait at least 22 hours or more without any pain medication and suffer the symptoms of withdrawal (vomiting, GI upset, dizziness, and weakness). The staff can't even count how many days there are between refills, yes, they are that stupid. I believe the pharmacy staff must enjoy seeing a person in horrible pain and discomfort, some sort of sick entertainment. There is no merit to this 31 day policy and making someone get sicker by the minute waiting for them to do their job is cruel. Schadenfreude is a German word that best describes these people, getting joy from another's misfortune. I always dread having to go there, but, switching pharmacies when you are on pain medication is risky business. The "manager" of CVS should reconsider the consequences of this policy, we all live in glass houses. read more

I hate this place. Doctor sends in a script. Hour later I arrive to pick it up No one is in the car line or inside. They tell me one hour. 40 minutes go by and I'm told it will be another 20 minutes. I'm not down playing how busy they are or how much other things are going on. My thing is if no one is there why make a customer wait an hour? Is it that hard to stop, fill a prescription, then return to what you were doing? There isn't anyone on line and there are 5 people behind the counter. As someone who is client facing in there job it's inexcusable. Again I get how busy they are, they have many things going on, but you would rather make a customer wait an hour, instead of taking 2 minutes to fill a prescription that is refilled on an automatic reoccuring basis. Unfortunately this has been my experience at multiple cvs pharmacies and I can't switch because Caremark owns Aetna. read more

This nasty little man should never have interactions with humans ... EVER! . The online & voice systems had conflicting info. I needed clarification ... not a rude jerk who interrupted, talked over me & never bothered to listen or attempt to help ... just gave attitude & rudeness! I did NOT deserve to be denigrated by this nasty scum! . I just moved our prescriptions to this store last month. Now I am removing all the prescriptions for me, my spouse & my mother. . I miss the professionalism & decency from (the now closed) Winn Dixie pharmacy employees! Clearly no one at cvs cares!!! If I could them 0 stars, I would. Staff are super unhappy, and often take it out on customers. The pharmacy drive thru was closed for lunch until 2pm (which is cool, people need to eat) and we rolled up at 1:58pm, patiently chilling until 2pm. As soon as we geared into park, we were rudely told to leave until 2pm or we will not be helped. We weren't rushing anyone, just waiting in line until the lanes opened back up. REVIEW FOR THE MINUTE CLINIC: Speaking as a healthcare provider, practitioners NEED to tell their patients when they are looking for care out of network. My wife and I got our flu shots here due to convenience and received excellent care by the ARNP. However, weeks later we received a bill for $50 EACH just to get a standard shot that is absolutely free from any pharmacy. Shame on them for not being transparent about their practice. We will not be returning and will be warning others about their practice. read more

Service was terrible. Was told by cashier that self-service was available - as in that's the only way you'll be getting service. I think it may have been painful for them to actually speak to a customer. The kiosk I ended up using didn't print a receipt for me either (same problem as the customer before me) one of the reasons I wanted an accrual cashier to check me out. Although I understand peoples frustration regarding CVS customer service, I feel that I must single out an employee. I had surgery last week and could not drive (or I would have gone to see for myself what was the hold up). I called everyday for a week to speak to a pharmacist and there was no answer. When I finally got a hold of someone at the front desk and asked if someone can go back an find someone, they put me through the same recording and still got nowhere!! On Saturday morning I called the storefront and spoke with Margaret who immediately had someone pick up the phone!!! They cleared up my concern regarding a medication that I had picked up a week earlier and as it turned out THEY DID GIVE ME THE INCORRECT DOSAGE!!!! Not at all happy with the San Juan CVS Pharmacy in Jacksonville. I've picked up Prescriptions there numerous times, but find the employees to be very rude and unhelpful. Their phone etiquette needs work as well. At least their behavior is consistent! There is a perfection solution for those desiring a more positive experience! I want to give the BIGGEST shoutout to Carmen! She went above and BEYOND to help me! I drove across town to get my mom medicine that the CVS app said was in stock. Upon arriving, the manager went to where he thought it would be and said "guess we're just out of stock," and walked away, even though the app said it was in stock. Not to be dramatic, but utterly exhausted under the pressure of caregiving, I was in near tears. At this moment, Carmen, however, immediately took it upon herself to dig deeper and go above and beyond to help. She quickly grabbed a device to look up the item number and, when she did so, discovered the store did in fact have the item and was able to locate it for me. Not only that, but she helped me sign up for the CVS program that can help me save money long-term. Carmen is an Angel and a BLESSING and I hope that CVS will recognize her accordingly for her kindness and going above and beyond for customers!! read more

This is the worst CVS pharmacy you could ever go to. Long lines, no response when you call them or long hold times. My son made an appointment for COVID-19 rapid test because he was suppose to fly the next day. He was late 3 minutes, due to a phone call from work and they cancelled his appointment even though there was no one else waiting for the test. What kind of BS is that? Go to Walgreens instead. It's funny how drugstores have become the "convenience" store for me and this CVS has a great location situated in the Ortega area right on US-17 & San Juan. They have tons of merchandise and great prices on some of their CVS Brand items. Of the many times I've visited this particular location, they've been pleasant. Super easy transactions and positive experiences. In addition, I never have my CVS card on me, but they are always able to look me up based on an old phone number I have so they can give me my rewards or discounts. No complaints with their customer service and if I ever needed help, there were people who willingly assisted me in this store. All you have to do is ask. Needed more cashiers working , but great over all. Love that's it's open 24/7...I've ran here at midnight to get nail polish remover. And at 4am to get toilet paper. Appt made for the COVID rapid test for a medical procedure not because I think I'm infected. Waited 20 minutes in the designated waiting parking. Went inside to see what's the hold up. Once you say you're there for the test you get treated like you have the plague. Finally able to talk to somebody she tells me she's been trying to text me but I never recd the text. While making the appt online I fat fingered one digit off to my phone number my mistake. So I'm sorry let's get the test done but "NO" she tells me the appt was cancelled and they are going to lunch??? Come back at 530pm or make another appt for Monday. Under these Polarizing time everybody blaming others and the so called "medical field" ready to blame others but they can't help you when you need them. I really like that this location has a Minute Clinic. With a crazy work schedule, sometimes I just need to pop in when I have a few minutes. And it is close enough to Riverside, that if there is a wait, I can always return an or or two later. As for the store, it's a typical CVS, full of beauty products, overpriced grocery items and anything you need for a convenience store. The pharmacy on the other hand, just UGH. I've only had two prescriptions filled here on separate occasions, and there has been an issue each time. One time, on my insurance card, my name was listed last name first, first name last. This blew their minds and I had to call my insurance provider at the checkout window to explain this to them. I'll never use this pharmacy again. Love hate relationship with this CVS. They have an extensive collection of alternative protein powders, energy supplements and health supplements that is second to none. My pet peeve is the pharmacy is always understaffed and what is with the upside down cart and the second drive through lane being closed all the time can we please get this fixed. read more

To make life easier for us at checkout, there is now an area to wait for a cashier along the counters, so that we are not in single file lines that push out into the snack aisle. This is great since we can now get a single line to wait for a register to open and no need to grade other shoppers on their manners or knowledge of "excuse me", when barging though you to get on their way. I have had multiple issues with this particular CVS. Particularly, my prescription has been incorrectly filled twice. This could be a major issue if I didn't know exactly what to receive. They also ran into an issue with Adderall and couldn't supply it because of pharmacy theft. So be extra careful in checking your medication. They also advertised providing the shingles vaccine on their billboard but when inquired about cost they informed us they no longer provide it. So my advice is go somewhere else for pharmacy needs and medical clinics. I have taken my business elsewhere after too many issues. It's sad they went downhill after moving across the street. Their only plus is a drive through pharmacy, but again, check your prescription for accuracy. read more

Awful company all together. 1. Aetna recently merged with Caremark and changed our prescription provider. Maybe my own fault but don't recall seeing anything stating I am now mandated to use a Caremark location for pharmacy refills. 2. This wouldn't have been a big deal except 5 months after the change I went to pick up my auto-refilled script only to find out it was denied by insurance provider who is Caremark. 3. I called them to find out what was going on and was told all prescription must be filled at a Caremark. Ok fine. It's 7pm and I already skipped a day of blood pressure medication and asked that they allow a 1 time refill since it was too late to get it switched over and that my work schedule prevents me from picking up during normal business hours. CVS refused this and told me it was because it was after 5pm they could not authorize my request. What they recommended was I sign up to have my script mailed to me in 10 business days. Are you out of your mind!?!? So ended up paying out pocket. 4. I wrote Caremark corporate about this because it's really not ok to mess with peoples medication and potentially cause harm. In my letter they were provided my full name, card number, dob, and address. Their response? "Who are you". 5. They place discount bins next to the pharmacy counter. Not like 8-10 ft away but literally right next to where you would ask a pharmacist a question. Could just be me but I don't want people listening to me asking a pharmacist about a problem im having. 6. My doctor accidentally sent a prescription to a wrong location. When picking up I explained there is a CVS much closer to my home and asked for it to be transferred. I was told they could not transfer the medication and that it was the responsibility of the customer. My question is what good is a corporate pharmacy if the locations can't communicate? Just a thought CVS treats their employees poorly creating poor moral and employees who are only there to earn a paycheck. 7. CVS changed my medication. My prescription was not in so I was given an option driving 45 minutes to St. Augustine or having the doctor send in a new script. Same question. What good is a corporate pharmacy if they cannot talk to other locations? Other pharmacies have the ability to have it shipped from the other location and available the next business day. Why can't CVS? After asking for 12 months to switch me back they finally said they could order another brand. Instead of the different medication I had been taking because of them. Pretty obvious they dont value their customers and it's sad state of affairs. I've tried getting my pharmacy card switched but Aetna and Caremark are now the same and they won't allow it. Never had any problems with Walgreen or Publix yet my prescription has been on back order with Caremark for over 12 months? I am a frequent customer of CVS.. I admittedly rarely use the pharmacy as I am rarely in need of medication, but I frequent the store itself because it's close to where I live and the staff are normally always pleasant. Unfortunately I can't say the same for your pharmaceutical department at the San Juan Ave / Roosevelt blvd location in Jacksonville, Florida. I recently visited the dentist on Tuesday 5/24/16 because I have an infected impacted wisdom tooth that is causing me an immense amount of pain and am having it pulled this Friday. So that same Tuesday I initially went to Publix to have the prescription of penicillin and pain medication filled because they offer free penicillin, they told me they were out of the pain medicine and I should try the CVS across the street. So I went in and after standing at the drop off counter for well over 10 mins (I was the only person waiting) I was finally approached by the pharmacist who took a look at the prescription and then me and then flat out told me "I will not fill this type of prescription" and walked away from me. I asked why and he replied "it's just not something I will fill". And he walked away again. Now.. I am a 26 year old white female and I am heavily tattooed and have a nose piercing. I feel extremely offended and feel as though I am being profiled based on my appearance. I have never had to get a pain prescription filled before and was shocked at the way this man treated me. I called your customer service department today and they were of absolutely no help. I am a real person in some very serious pain and I was refused to be helped solely because of the way I look. EXTREMELY disappointed if this is how you treat loyal customers at your establishment. It has left a very bad taste in my mouth. read more

I'm pregnant and for migraines, my OB/GYN prescribed me a Tylenol based formula which is safe for pregnant women. When it was time to get a refill, my doctor's office sent over the prescription to my CVS pharmacy (San Juan - Store #1114). When I picked it up, the prescription was now an aspirin based formula which had a label stating 'do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding'. This made me hesitant to take the medication, but certainly (I thought to myself) my doctor wouldn't prescribe something that was harmful to me or my baby, so I took it. I read up on it online and it didn't' make any sense why my OB/GYN would prescribe this to me while pregnant, especially since I'm already taking a low dose of aspirin for preeclampsia. When I went to my high risk doctor, he told me that he had concerns about the dosage of aspirin and same with the labor and delivery nurse. The labor and delivery nurse had never even heard of that medication. When I voiced my concerns to my OB/GYN, she stated that they normally give the Tylenol based formula, so again, they sent me in another prescription. Well, I pick up my prescription and again it's the aspirin based formula. This time, I call the pharmacist to see who's making the error and he stated "oh, you can't have aspirin?" and I said, NO I'M PREGNANT. He said, come in right away and we will switch it for you, your doctor wrote you a script for the Tylenol based formula. When I got to the pharmacy, I said, I didn't know a pharmacist could override my doctor and change my prescription without telling me and he completely ignored my question.
