My experience here was just fine. Store appeared clean and organized but I was simply picking up meds I was prescribed after receiving a text message a med was ready. Well it turns out I had TWO meds ordered and only one was ready when I got there so they realized that and had the second one ready in 10 minutes, not too bad. Plus they have a drive through window! What a bust. Like a lot of businesses in America, we get to sit back and watch it's downfall as it chases profits over people with consumers being the ones affected. This used to be a semi-legitimate CVS, but efforts to understaff have left it in disrepair. For starters, their pharmacy now doesn't open until 10 am and has a hour or two closure at some point around or after lunch. It's threading a needle if you need to get here for anything. The rest of the store looks like hell. Stuff strewn about in a disorganized mess. They can't even figure out the parking lot here as it's essentially backwards and not marked clearly. But hey, if you want to pay 2x what a product should cost, you'll love it here! I'd be alright if I never had to come here again to be perfectly frank. It's slow, marked up, and feels like a dying entity. read more

Friendly pharmacists, but very slow prescription refills. I have been coming by this CVS for years, and it definitely used to be better. It does have some great aspects - it has a good selection of over the counter options and it's pretty reasonably priced. The pharmacists have always been friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. However, it has gotten really SLOW. I now have to call them and ask them to fill the prescription after my doctor sends it over, instead of them filling it once they receive the prescription. This is especially problematic when my doctor sends a prescription for multiple months, and I have to call them every time I start to run out. You'd think they would have it in their system so they can track multiple months of scripts and fill it when the time comes around, but nope. Overall, I just go here because it's close by. However, if you're not close with your calendar/reminders app, I'd suggest finding another pharmacy. read more

I have been getting our family's prescriptions here for the last 10 years, and I've dealt with all the changes and reduced work schedules, but today I experienced the worst customer service ever. Walked in Sunday for a flu shot. Was informed they do walk in but not on Sunday and to come back Monday. Tried to make an appointment but that is not available for the South Plaza or Brookside locations. Walked into the store today and was told they don't do walk-ins and I needed to go to Brookside or make an appt. Walked to Brookside store (1.7miles) and was told they don't do walk-ins and to make an appt on line, which again isn't possible. This store is awful. I don't want it to close because so many of us in the area count on it and it's walking distance but PLEASE, fix your website AND your attitude. If I'm going to be inconvenienced I may as well use Walgreens. read more

My husband and I went for COVID tests at the drive-through of this pharmacy on Monday, August 8, 2022. They initially gave me a bag with no vial in it, and then argued with me (though I opened the bag in front of them) that it did have a vial. My husband did receive a vial in his bag, but I had to pull around and wait for them to print a vial for me. I got my test back late on Monday and it was negative. However, my husband's test was messed up and was "Canceled." Given how bad they were about my test, I was surprised that it was processed correctly. They royally screwed up his, however, and are arguing that he needs to come back in. I don't think so. If you couldn't get it right for EITHER of us, why on earth would I trust you a second time? Do not recommend. Maybe they're fine for prescriptions but for testing they are a nightmare. You also can't reach anyone except by one phone number, which the local CVS didn't even know was their phone number and referred me to as the "lab." It's just ridiculous that they take up your time and then waste it. read more

I had to switch CVS locations to this one and I'm so happy I did! The pharmacist worked with me to get my medications transferred to this location and then we're able to fill all the medications within 15 mins. where another CVS told me it would take at least 2 days to fill. This CVS pharmacy is fast, efficient and the staff is friendly. I will be picking up my prescriptions from here on out. read more

I come here all the time but today someone named Holly was extremely rude and threatening to me. I asked her where a Neutrogena product was and when I went over to test it out before buying it (with full intention to buy it, which I did), she LITERALLY STOOD OVER ME while I was crouched down and told me not to test the products. I told her I was going to buy it. She stayed silent and continued to STARE AT ME and STAND OVER ME. I told her her to stop staring at me, that she was harassing me and she told me I "need to look up what harassing is." I said "it's exactly what you're doing to me. You are staring at me, I've told you to stop, and you won't. That's harassment." This woman is nasty, threatening, and a menace to this store's good reputation. Because of her I won't shop there again. She needs to be dealt with. Holly is her name. Awful, awful experience. I've been coming here for years and now I don't feel safe with this disgusting person around who treats your customers without any regard for personal space or dignity. She seems to have some kind of personality disorder. read more

I have this two months before writing this review. I refilled my script on a Sunday, telling them I needed it on Wednesday. My daily medication is an anti rejection med I take forever for a transplant which keeps me alive. I show up for it and they tell me they don't have any in stock. They had 4 days in which to call me and no one bothered. This is the second time they've done this at this location. I switched pharmacies now, being as I enjoy being alive. Well, I guess being a duke I owe this place a review. I come here mainly for drinks during work. Rarely getting sick due to my superb conditioning and overall excellence, I can't vouch for the pharmacy one way or another. But this location is clean and in a good area. One thing that is sometimes bothersome is that sometimes they tend to let the lines build up before calling over someone to take over a register. Some, but not all the employees, seem to be flustered and full of self-loathing. Hey, we all are, but I'm just trying to buy some green tea. read more

You might think twice before using this pharmacy. I've gone here for years, with no issues. Last week I went to the drive-thru to fill a prescription for my dog, so it had to be entered as a new account. I spelled out my four-letter last name, at least twice, and then my street name, neither of which is difficult. This whole interaction took much longer than it should have but that didn't really bother me. Then my wife went to pick up the script and said she wanted to bang her head against the car door because the person at the window (I assume it was the same one) kept misspelling our last name O-J? O-B? Turns out my last name and street address were entered incorrectly. My street name is Cherry but she entered 'Xherry'. I thought I should bring this to the attention of the pharmacist but she essentially shrugged in response. She never apologized but instead said: "the X is next to the C on the keyboard. I can understand the issue with your last name misspelled but the address isn't pertinent to the prescription." If the data entry person is fudging my last name and street name, what confidence do I have that my prescription is entered correctly? read more

Pharmacy is fast each time I have gone and the store looks to have pretty good selection of items. When I go into this CVS I feel like I could do all of my shopping for the week, which is odd for a drugstore, but they seem to carry the brands and items I want. They also have pretty good sales, so if you're able to catch something on sale, then it can easily be the same price as the grocery store. And most importantly, get a CVS card - seriously. If you even just go a few times the CVS bucks make a difference. Don't disregard them, I've ended up getting things free just because I paid attention and shopped wisely. read more

I go to this cvs almost every day because of the convenience, but it is poorly managed - enough to make choose a different location from time to time. I dropped off a photo order and when I came to pick it up, it was missing the disc. I went back to see what had happened and they were aggravatingly unhelpful and rude, even though the problem was their fault in the first place! Terrible experience. Tried to get a prescription filled. They said " okay, looks like we have everything. It'll just take 10 to 15 minutes" I replied that I would wait. After 45 minutes I asked what was going on. They then asked what my last name was, and how to spell it (for the 3rd time). They then tell me that they do not have enough of the medicine and to come back another time. DO NOT use this pharmacy. UPDATE: they said they would call the next day with the prescription. Never did. Went in to see what was going on. They still don't have it. Complete disorganization and disgrace of a business. Do not waste your time. read more

Waited an hour for my prescription 2 days ago for them to FINALLY then tell me they didn't even have half of what I needed and they'd call me tomorrow. This might be the worst run pharmacy in the world. I get told prescriptions will be ready within an hour, and time and time again they are wrong and then I am standing there waiting and there is 0 urgency to fill it. Today was the last straw. I was told it would be done in an hour the day before, I thought instead of going at the time they designated I would wait till the next day so I wouldn't have to wait the long amounts of time I usually do at the store. I came in the next day and was told by the pharmacist they were still filling it and needed more time....... 24 hours and still not filled. This is literally a joke and I will take my business to another pharmacy because this isn't just poorly run, it's a shit show. The employees could careless and lack of urgency is so infuriating, and is the MAIN cause of them losing my business. People have jobs and lives that they need things done at the time promised and this place does not do that. They have 0 issue of making your life inconvenient but they will never be inconvenienced to help you. read more

I went into CVS on a sunny Saturday in November with the hopes of picking up a few items and getting a flu shot, but I left empty handed because if the ineptitude of the pharmacy. The staff was completely incompetent. First, the line system was unclear and the pharmacy staff was uninterested in assisting anyone who was not at the correct position at the counter. I was told several times during my attempted transaction to rotate to another position to begin another "hurry up and wait" experience at a new window until I could get the attention of someone. Next, the person in charge of paperwork had me fill out a couple of useless pages of information only to have me verbally give the same information as he typed it into the computer. My handwriting is very clear, so I am quite perplexed as to the redundancy of this exercise. After we finally got to the point of imputing my insurance, the fellow fell into a downward spiral of uselessness. He could not figure it out at all. Several "attempts" later, and after my first attempt to withdraw my plans of getting a flu shot because he could not figure out how to bill it to my insurance, he finally managed to push the request through. I do not know what happened next, because by this point I had been "getting my flu shot" for over twenty minutes and was told I had to wait. I do not know why they had not started working on whatever they needed to do to prepare the vaccine once the paperwork went through, but when I asked (after standing at the counter for another five minutes with no one paying any mind to me at all) I was told that I would have to wait for another fifteen minutes (this seems to be the magic number, by the way: how long will it take to get a flu shot? 15 minutes. How much longer? 15 minutes.... Someone will start this in 15 minutes; then it will only take another 15 minutes. Sigh....) During all this time, I had ample time to browse the otherwise empty store. Only a few other people came through to shop or pick up prescriptions while I was here (making the long wait that much more perplexing). The store was not very clean. Several items were out of stock and the floors were in need of a good sweeping. Eventually I gave up on my flu shot. I had my husband and two toddlers in tow, and the three of them were just as inpatient as I was. Before I left, I asked once more about the wait for getting a shot (one should never have to be this eager or desperate to get someone to inject a needle into her arm!); I received a vacant look from the young man behind the pharmacy counter, much as one would get from a dog who is not sure whether or not he remembers you, and received the reply of, "Oh, only 15 minutes or so." I'll take my chances with the flu. (I ended up putting the items I had wished to purchase back on the shelves. There was an offer to get a discount on purchases picked up with a flu vaccine.) read more

I called to have my prescriptions transferred to this location because I go to school in the area. The pharmacist on the line told me that she could not do that for me and I needed to call my original pharmacy(in leawood) to have my medications filled at this south plaza location. CVS Pharmacy in leawood told me to call the pharmacy of my choosing to have my prescriptions filled there, when I informed her that I had tried to do that I was told that I had been lied to possibly out of laziness... long story short I finally got this south plaza location to fill my prescriptions but I will be transferring them again soon to a different CVS because the service is horrible and the people are apathetic and rude and I do not trust them to handle my medicines with care which is disappointing because it is the closest CVS to my house and I am a busy college student. To get my flu shot I would've had to interrupt, not one, but two pharmacy workers' personal phone calls at the 'drop-off' area. Why would one of them want to help me, let alone even make eye contact when they can be chatting away about who's going to pick up the kids while on the clock? For some reason after dealing with these two idiots (by dealing I mean me standing there, the mirage that I am..) and the dirtiness of the store, I suddenly didn't feel like getting injected with a needle. read more

HUUGE guy (400+ lbs) was blocking entrance and ignored my request to move; I had to tortuously slide around him to get into the door. He starts following me and claiming I "bumped into his arm ON PURPOSE". Turns out, he is a store employee! While this is going on, the pharmacy claims they have no meds for me, though their robo-phone had called me three times saying the prescriptions were ready. Was then told I had to go to a different line to show my insurance card, though they have it on file, and usually never ask for it. It kinda went downhill from there, and as the HUUGE employee kept squealing about his arm being touched, the pharmacist refused to even tell me if they had them filled, and said "DON"T EVER COME BACK". Don't worry, I won't. No wonder this store never has anyone in it, but the Walgreens down the street is always full. read more

Absolutely terrible pharmacy. Rude, long waits and never have prescriptions ready on time.

It seems a little odd to write a review over a pharmacy, but I've had terrible experiences at so many places it seems like a nice opportunity to let people know of a place that actually does all the things you'd like them to. I always seem to have little issues with my insurance because on some of the drugs I purchase, I am prescribed mega-doses. Because of this insurance often needs multiple approvals made. The pharmacists here have never been anything but helpful. When I've been ready to scream in frustration or become to resigned to not being able to get an RX for a few more days, they've tried "just a thing or two" until I'm able to leave with what i need. They've even worked with me to get one or two pills until things could be worked out, seeming to care much more about me and potential side effects of missing meds than either my physicians or the insurance company. While at many places getting a script is akin to waiting in line in an Eastern bloc country for American blue jeans, this particular location always delivers what's promised, when it was promised. There's no one hour waiting for one prescription to be filled, no swarms of people milling about waiting for their turn. The people are wonderfully nice, incredibly efficient and just seem to really look out for their customers. How great is it that they tell you when you've earned money back and not to forget and throw away your receipt. Or, when you've picked up half the store and they still let you check out at their counter instead of a separate trip to the front? It's just very nice to be able to take care of things at a place where the people who serve you are gracious. read more

The cashier, Misha called me out for having my service dog inside with me and asked for my paperwork. I rarely carry my paperwork with me, especially when I walk. She was beyond rude and I have contacted upper management and the ADA. read more

This CVS is in a great location, boasts great booze prices and has a wide selection. Service is, however, less than par. Severely understaffed, checkout never fails to be one cashier with several customers waiting. Minor staffing improvements could make a big difference here. read more
