CVS Pharmacy just keeps getting worse. Read my previous review for context. (A) Except for the pharmacy, everything else has a 50-100% upcharge. It's laughable--perhaps even deceitful--that CVS boasts about how much savings you get. Coupons generally only bring down the price to match competitors' regular price. What a joke! (B) Customer service has always been kind and generous to me. But they're also often incompetent, especially if you have to call corporate. I just got off a 1-hour call just to fix refill reminder emails. I opted in but was not getting emails, and the first agent didn't understand such a simple issue and gave me irrelevant answers filled with unintelligible jargon. I asked to file a complaint for incredible incompetence, and the person I was transferred too also didn't understand and was about to turn off notifications. She also mumbled. Isn't it even more important that employees on the phone all day know how to enunciate? I finally got transferred for the third time, and the agent finally understood the simple issue and fixed it. However, knowing how unreliable CVS, I **triple-checked** with the agent that reminders will only be sent as emails and not as text or phone calls. Sure enough, a minute after the call ended, I received a text message welcoming me to text reminders and automated reminder calls. What a joke! (C) Both their app and website is worse than navigating iTunes: It's chaotic with little logical flow. It's also filled with jargon that requires you to learn as a second language. Furthermore, their app and website are unreliable, as exemplified in (B): Opting in for email reminders isn't guaranteed to work. Within the last few months, I've also had to call in to turn off text reminders because, well, you know: The app and website are unreliable. What a joke! --- It's nice that they offer me free delivery of medication (but I don't know if that applies to everyone else). I also appreciate that some locations are open 24 hours (but probably explains in part the sky-high upcharges). But you are a fool if you think you are saving money by shopping at CVS, and it's downright shameful and disgusting how unreliable CVS is, both with their customer service and their app/website. Some people's lives depend on reliable delivery of medication. I'm immediately shopping around to take my business elsewhere. I've had enough of this immense joke that is CVS.

    Is it Valentine's Day already?

If you miss the window and attempt to swipe the credit card, it will credit itself with a donation EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T SELECT ANYTHING. You may not even notice this happens and attempt to swipe your card again. I thought something since I typically grab a quick breakfast every morning. I don't usually see this "donation" option flash up. Since something seemed off I checked and noticed a donation added to my total. I attempted to alert the cashier that I never touched or selected the donation option and she very nastily blamed me for not using my credit card properly. She wouldn't even let me finish a sentence. She simply said it's easier for her to "void the transaction" and I'll have to do checkout again. WHEN IS IT EVER ACCEPTABLE FOR A BUSINESS TO SNEAK A DONATION IF YOU DIDN'T TOUCH ANYTHING??!?! Beware of this scam. Also be prepared that, if you catch it, and decide to wait for a lazy cashier to EVENTUALLY come over, you will need to start checkout completely over because they will punish you for calling them out.

I really appreciate their staff's knowledge and patience for all us patients and how helpful they are in coaching and answering my questions about my medications. I see how they go above and beyond to help me navigate my recurring insurance coverage change issues. They are dedicated to patient care by their attention to detail and helpfulness which as made a real difference in my health journey. Any halting wait to get counter service is very rare in contrast to a large pharmacy in The Shops just north. Get all your groceries while they get your meds packaged and ready for you.

I have been a customer at Ralphs Pharmacy since 2005 and have consistently received great service…read more Unfortunately, I sent my assistant to pick up my pre-paid medication, which included 7 medications. For some reason, the pharmacist in charge decided to dispense an additional prescription, which was not part of the list of the approved 7 prescriptions that I pre authorized and purchased with my credit card for several reasons 1) I authorized or 2) it was not with my 7 authorized pre pay meds , 3) that particular medication was not covered by my insurance 4) and cost $221 5) I can get it across the street from CVS for $45). As soon as my assistant came back and I realized that Dr Steven the pharmacist, had dispensed the $221 medication I did not authorize to be billed on my credit card, I immediately asked her to take it back to the pharmacy for a refund as this was never authorized nor was it ever placed in my basket or prepaid. She came back to tell me that Dr. Stephen refused to take back the medication and would not refund the $221 that he dispensed without my authorization, and that I had to keep it because it had left the store. Now I have to stop what I am doing and call Dr Steven at the pharmacy, who proceeds to blame my college-age assistant as the reason why he dispensed the medication, stating that it was her fault that he dispensed the medication because she accepted the medication. Since when does a college-age student intern who is just picking up my 7 pre-paid medications at Ralphs get to be blamed for the pharmacist Dr Stephen's mistake who dispensed a medication that I did not authorize to be dispensed, was not covered by my insurance, and cost $221, and was not a part of the pre-paid 7 medications I authorized to be dispensed and I can get from CVS for $45. Who is the responsible party here, the college student picking up the 7 prepaid authorized medications or the licensed pharmacist who makes a mistake and refuses to acknowledge his mistake and blames my intern for his mistake? After almost 3 hours of this, I ended up calling the manager at Ralphs, and he directed me to the Ralphs customer service number and was extremely apologetic about the entire incident. Ralph's general customer service also thought that this was not ok, and I was told to hold, and they contacted Dr Steven personally to rectify the situation, and he proceeded to tell them that I needed to call the pharmacy. At this juncture, I have wasted over 3 1/2 hours of my time trying to reason with a Pharmacist who apparently does not understand that he is obligated to get authorization from the consumer to agree to purchase the medication he is dispensing. What Dr Steven did to me is equivalent to me treating a patient who has not authorized me to treat them, and after treatment, charging them a full non-insurance price for their treatment because I do not take their insurance.

I went to self-checkout and the payment reader was physically loose and falling out, making it impossible to insert my card. When I asked the associate, BOB, for help, he walked over and insisted on swiping the card instead--ignoring the fact that I had already told him the insert slot was broken and that swiping wouldn't even bring up the PIN prompt. Things went downhill from there. BOB repeatedly implied I didn't have enough funds and openly asked if I was paying with EBT while I was visibly holding a Chase debit card. When the transaction failed (because of their broken machine), I asked him to print the barcode for my scanned items so I could pay at a different register. Instead, he printed the barcode, rescanned it back into the exact same broken machine we had just tried six times, and told me to do it again. When I asked him to print the barcode a second time so I could actually move to a working register, he refused, walked off with the barcode in his hand, and left me stranded while I was already running late for an appointment. When I finally tracked down the manager, she offered zero help and plenty of attitude, insisting once again on asking if I was using an EBT card and then gaslighting me by claiming my card was "dusty" and the cause of their loose, malfunctioning card reader. She was able to complete the transaction with the same card I'd been using all along. Self-checkout is supposed to be quick and efficient, but BOB and the management team turned a simple equipment malfunction into a humiliating, frustrating ordeal. If staff cannot handle basic technical issues or treat customers with basic respect, they need better training or reassignment. Avoid this location if you are in a rush.
