I recently visited the CVS on Town Center Parkway in La Jolla to get a vaccination, and my experience was excellent. The pharmacist, Emily, who was floating at this location, was extremely nice and helpful. Even though she was new to the system and needed a bit of assistance, her pleasant demeanor made the visit very welcoming. At the front, Allison, the cashier, was also wonderful. One of the reasons I enjoy shopping at CVS is because of the great coupons and savings, and Allison went out of her way to help me maximize them. She took the time to ensure I got the best deal possible--and did it all with a smile. read more

This CVS location is so frustrating! They apparently close for lunch but don't have a sign anywhere. As a result several of us are forced to wait because coming back is not an option! If you have a choice go to the CVS on Villa La Jolla - you may have to wait a few minutes more but at least they have more than one pharmacist so you can get your prescription without much delay (or hassle). read more

This review is just on the new Spindrift lemonade/sparkling water. There were 3 flavors. All were made with just carbonated water and fruit juices. Pink lemonade is pink and unsweetened. I love sweetened pink lemonade and this drink taste just like it minus the sugar. I prefer the flavor with sugar but if you are on a low carb diet this is the drink for you. Strawberry lemonade had a sour strawberry and lemon flavor. It's unusual as I associate strawberries with sweetness. My favorite lemonades have a balance of sweet and sour. This drink was all sour. Lemon limeade is full of lime flavor. There was a bit of sour flavor but not as much as the other 2. My favorite of the 3 drinks. It's great Spindrift only uses fruit juice and carbonated water but I prefer less sour lemonades. Polar Sparkling water has lemonade with less sour flavor. Also I prefer milder flavored sparkling water like Perrier Lime. I would be interested in Spindrift lemonade if they reformulated it with a less sour flavor. read more

I have 2 experiences here that were unacceptable! The most recent one, I accidentally left a work accordion folder there at my visit. I live in the neighborhood and am at this location at least 5x a week. My folder was thrown out in 2 days, without them looking for identifying info to contact me! I had my email contact in there. I lost hours of work and the value of the folder and contents which easily is worth hundred of dollars! It is unacceptable that they didn't bother to try to contact me and I was told that Lupe threw my folder out after only 2 days. When I called the store manager Kim, her response was that they throw things out after 2 days! Horrible customer service and no common care as a fellow human. She seemed to care less. I requested they create a humane lost and found policy...who knows if they will, she didn't seem to care. The other horrible experience I had here was with the pharmacy during covid March 2020. I had Covid and the pharmacy tech told me that I did not have Covid. Horrible customer care and completely irresponsible and negligent for a pharmacy tech to lie and say I don't have Covid when I did. It was not up to the tech to determine whether or not I had Covid, yet they did! Beware...there is a complete lack of proper customer care training and negligence! read more

That mid aged Asian stuff in the shop is rude asf, the pharmacy gave me the wrong amount of prescription and I was being told that the prescription needs to be finished first in order to get the next one. It's freaking ridiculous, didn't give me a specific reason for why and I was asking for a specific date to pick up next prescription, that guy just told me to wait about a month and did not even check the computer. read more

The Pharmacy Manager is a gentleman. I'm currently sick and been running around to find a medication and he was able to run a discount card to save me a ton of money while filling my medication right away so I could start the course. Super easy experience today getting the updated Omicron booster here at CVS Towne Center. A young woman in the pharmacy answered this morning & confirmed what the online scheduler seemed to suggest: they are one of the few CVS is in San Diego that already have the new Moderna bivalent booster. Made an appointment for 7 PM, very easy online. Checking in the store was super easy. And only a few minutes til Nazmi was ready to help. Meanwhile I got to enjoy seeing the exceptionally kind and personal service he gave to a senior citizen in the neighborhood, who he knew by name. What a wonderful group of employees here at this pharmacy. I've been all over this year and this was an A+ pharmacy. This is a review for Addison for great customer service. I came into the store and was immediately greeted and asked how could I be helped today. I had an issue about an Amazon gift card bought at another CVS. (When the card was taken out of the cardboard sleeve the claim code was ruined.) So basically Addison inherited a problem from another store. Addison was willing to try and help me contact Amazon customer service to try and remedy the problem. While in the end Addison was unable to help me fix the issue, I was given the steps needed to try and solve it on my own at home. I appreciated the help and time given to me with an issue that wasn't even connected to this store, I call that exceptional service. read more

I plan to call corporate on John. I am now moving my prescriptions over to a new pharmacy. I got into an argument over my medicine with John when he refused to give me my medicine. My dr had to send a new prescription but I needed to call them to send it in. He refused to give me my medicine and said "in my personal opinion you'll be fine since you have some of your medicine". I called and begged an hour later again for the loaner, he does not have a right to hold my medicine I need over my head. He then said fine I'll give you one but I'll put in your file to never do this again because you haven't learned your lesson yet. I had thought both my prescriptions were ready, I didn't know only one was. John is the most useless pharmacist I've ever had in 25+ years. I'm not sure how he has the job he has. He couldn't help me out with my medicine or how to properly take it. The most unknowledgable pharmacist. I now know to either go elsewhere for my medicine. Pretty sure I could ask someone homeless on the street for better information on how to take my medicine. Everyone else there is amazing and the two stars are for them read more

I've been coming to this location for the last 2 years and so far I have remained pleased. The Pharmacy department are very communicative and try helping anyway that they can. I was out of town and needed medicine delivered to the out of state Pharmacy. They lady went above and beyond to ensure I received the medicine because I ran into issues that the out of state CVS refused to look into. She called and provided them the correct information and ensured the situation was handled. The staff are usually friendly and I noticed they recently had self-checkout machines installed. That should help in regards to the lines and social distancing standards so that's a plus. They also always manage to keep the store clean at all times so you're not stepping over anything when they are unpacking shipments and restocking the shelves. The manager (seems like one, no uniform young lady) told me to go wait in that corner and points to the far corner where there is nothing as if I'm in her way with an extremely irritated tone and face... After I waited for 10 minutes in front of Photo section, I saw the lady with name tag no uniform / vest , nose piercing/ asked if there is a photo guy. She was annoyed and bothered. The pharmacy needs an update. It is sSOOOOOOO DIRTY, it's like going into a third world country store and the people that work there have a terrible appearance. No one to ask for help, only the woman with hairs she never combed. CVS shows horrible appearance as a well known pharmacy. All CVS stores around the area were updated except this one. I live right across from this store and my son had a health emergency at 10:45 so I ran over to get fever medication for him. the signs and website says they close at 11. I got there at 10:52 and they just closed the store right in front of me and would let me in. I told them it was urgent but they just refused. I'm not sure how they get away with just arbitrarily closing the store 8 or 10 minutes early. Not is it just bad customer service but incredibly cruel to turn a person away when they have a health emergency and it's not even official closing time. read more

Small CVS in a desolate and hidden shopping center. I felt a bit claustrophobic as I entered the store since it appears that the aisles seemed pushed up close to the registers. What I noticed was that this CVS was carpeted. Perhaps that what made this CVS smaller? To whom it may concern, I am a customer of yours for many years and this afternoon I went shop at my local CVS and wanted to wash my hands because I pick up a piece of trash from your floor. I asked your customer your customer service representative at the registers if he could direct me to the restrooms so I can washed my hands and he said the restrooms were closed, I asked if he had some hand sanitizer I could use ( a pump ) with smirk on his face he said he didn't have sanitizer either. What kind of establishment more so pharmacy store doesn't have the bathroom open for customers to wash their hands in a middle of a pandemic where people need just the basic like water and soap. I was expecting better service and little more empathy from your staff and closing the bathroom just because you don't want to pay someone to keep the clean. Alot of kind and hard-working folks work here. As with all pharmacies post-covid, they are doing the best they can with what they have. Cashier Andrew has brightened our days for years. Pharmacists are knowledgeable and compassionate and were wonderful with our seriously ill senior family members. This cvs used to be a quick and convenient stop but lately it's been easier to just go up to Rite Aid on Governor. The parking here is a nightmare and if you can't do self-checkout, the line consistently takes 5-10 minutes. I'm not sure if they're understaffed or what. I needed a money order to renew my passport. I was recommended to go to a CVS or a Ralph's to obtain one. I had no idea you could get a money order here. I walked in and asked the first cashier I saw if they sold them. He was very quick to provide me with the money order and he was super friendly... fun personality! The older lady with the white long hair has been incredibly rude. She asked me to show my FACE (meaning pull down my mask) TO CHECK MY ID. I used to work at CVS so I know that's not protocol and most importantly against STATE COVID rules ! I don't want to make this a race thing but the non-black couple before me buying alcohol was not asked to show their faces. This cvs also lost my package a few months back and the same lady was asking me inappropriate questions like I was trying to steal a package. She asked " what did you buy" and "who is the package from" I will not be returning because I don't feel welcomed as a customer in fact I feel targeted! I want her to be educated and treat people with respect. read more

But I feel that the prices are reflective of CVS as a company so this review is for this location. I needed 2 pictures printed from a memory card and I walked over to get them printed. They have 3 prices listed. Minutes - $0.29 1 Hour processing - $0.19 Online - $0.19 Seeing how it was so close, I chose the 1-hour processing (and because uploading would have made me wait 5-7 days.). I go through all the kiosk tutorials and get the receipt. The receipt says it will cost roughly $0.50. Which is fine. 6 cent discrepency I can overlook. Mind you, it's about 9:30 and they close at 10. So as I go to check out, they ring me up and it comes to $0.63. WTF. It's supposed to be $0.19 x 2 = $0.38 + tax MAX I'd say $0.41. But wtf is this $0.63. I ask the cashier, "What's up with that I thought it was $0.19" and she replies, "Oh that's only if you order like 50+ pictures. Not wanting to make a fuss for $0.22 I just said to myself f- it and moved on. So... CVS, you get 1 star for having incompetent employees and for being jackasses. M.P. Alright - I have been dealing with the pharmacy for the last 3 weeks on a single item. I guess this is why you don't transfer your prescriptions for a measly $25 gift card. With all the frustrations I have gotten from working with this particular place, I am only giving them 2 stars. And that is for the convenience, coupons and sales I get when I visit this store during my lunch hour. First be forewarned that this CVS is located in a high density (during lunch hour) and small parking spaces strip mall. Since I drive a mid-size SUV, parking needs to be either exact or before the crowd comes for their lunch hour choices of Rubios, Edo (sushi), JK (ht dgs) or Italian and Thai. At first, I was going to CVS to get small essentials or snacks that were reasonably priced, candy on sale, chips or drinks that are a deal with your CVS freq buyer card with earning $2 or more dollars off. Then seeing that if I transfer my prescription order (diabetes meter/strips), I would get the aforementioned gift card. Let's just say I have already used up the gift card and I still have not gotten my prescription filled. They are slow to respond in the pharmacy and it seems that every time I ask for my prescription, there is a problem to fill it. My current frustration led up to this review. I was supposed to have been called last week about the prescription, no one ever called me. I would like to tell a funny joke but this place is not funny at all. But here goes, A customer goes to the pharmacy and requests his prescription filled. The clerk says, oh we need to call your doctor to authorize this. We will contact them. 3 weeks later, oh is my prescription filled, no. they didn't give us the info we asked for. Let us call the dr. Oh..this is not funny, well so is CVS. I've never felt the need to review this place, even when I lived down the street from it and it was still called Long's Drugstore. However, everything changed when the other day on my way to pick up the husband to go to happy hour after work, I stopped here to get some sunscreen since I was starting to get a farmer's tan from driving. As I got to to the register to pay for my coconut water and sunscreen, I got these CVS extra bucks, about $9 worth for me to spend on other things in the store. The cashier explained to me how it works since I usually just toss them out. She was so good about explaining it, I went back and bought some nail polish and other things to use the $9 worth of credit. I thought that was great customer service and a great way to get someone to spend more money in your store, touche, CVS, touche! read more

My favorite CVS (sorry Lisa W 2011!) in San Diego. There's never a line unlike the nearby La Jolla Village one by Whole Foods. Also easy parking unlike the nonexistent spaces at that other more popular location. The pharmacy staff provides great customer service. On more than one occasion they have sped up an order or helped me out personally so I could be sent on my merry way with a minimum of time spent. The cashier always greets you when you walk in. Standard operating procedure it appears at CVS stores, but still they seem extra friendly here. read more

This cvs is pretty busy. With the high traffic during lunch and after 6, beware of the parking lot. (If I go on weekends I just walk the short distance from home) Once you get in the store, you are warmly greeted as you walk in. All the staff is friendly. Either the nice gentleman with that hats that welcomes you to a snappy tune, or the sweet blonde lady that always makes sure you find everything you need are the most common people I see. There are a three or 4 other familiar faces I see often that are always ready to open up another check out line or see if they have any of my favorite cheap alcohol in the back. ;) Before I moved to this area I avoided CVS pharmacies after I had quite a few bad experiences where pharmacists and technicians were just rude and made me feel like a criminal bringing in my prescriptions if they were early or if theDR didn't check a box or something small. I wasn't asking for special treatment or to fill early, just a date it would be ready and I would go on with my life. They preferred the whole lecture previously. The first time I dropped off my prescription at this location, I figured I'd have some issue. To my surprise, Everyone was so nice. My prescriptions are filled within a reasonable time, and if they are out of one, they have always helped me coordinate with another store, but that is rare.
