I would give this CVS no stars if I could. I have been trying to get my husband to switch and come to mine for years. They always seem to have 10 people working, yet not one of them is helpful. The wait in line is always 30 minutes to an hour, and it doesn't matter if there are 3 people in front of me or 10. Do yourselves a favor and go to ANY pharmacy other than this one. You send me a text to tell me my prescription is ready I go stand in line for a half hour only to tell me that it'll be another 2 hours before it's ready . Medication was ready the confirmed it was ready by text. Drove there told they were out. No apology just we're out. Big waste of my time.

Do yourself a favor and just go to a different CVS. The pharmacy is a disaster--disorganized and bad communication.

On 22 August 2023 the CVS on Rotary ave in New Market MD recieve a RX from my doctor. On 25 August I received a text message saying my medication was ready for pick up. When i went to pick it up on 25th i was told by the pharmacist Erica there was a fridge malfunction and they could not access the fridge to get my meds as the fridge temp had dipped BELOW temp the previous night and that the securiy manager had to clear the medication before she could release it. I called on Saturday 26 August to check the status and was told that I only had to wait 24 hrs and the medication would be cleared and able to pick up (on 27 Aug) On 27 August i went in to pick up the med and again the pharmacist Erica said she was unable to give me the medication and that what i was i told on 26th about being able to pick it up on 27th was incorrect. She also said she was going to cancel my existing on site order and submit re order so that she could get a new supply in. She cancelled my order. Monday 28 August the pharmacist called me and said the new order that she created on 27th was delayed as it was on backorder. I explained that my med does NOT need to be in fridge if unopened and asked if I could please pick up what they had in the frdge - that again if unopened the temp shouldnt matter. She agreed it didnt need to be in fridge if unopened and said yes i could come pick it up. We hung up with the understanding that i was on my way in to pick it up. A few minutes later Erica called back A few minutes later Erica called back saying she (ironically) JUST heard from her (hard to reach for 3 days) security manager stating because the fridge temp ROSE ABOVE FREEZING (note that is a completely different story than the first, i.e the first story was that the fridge DROPPED in temp) the med was no good and had to be excessed. At this point we do not believ my med was even there on site and fully believe we are being lied to. So My husband went into the CVS branch and asked to see the box of meds just to verify it was in fact there on site, Erica refused He also asked to get a letter in writing from her stating that my med was processed and ready for pick up however was unable to be picked up due to a malfunction on CVS part (fridge malfunction) however again, once more ERICA REFUSED! This is gross mismanagement and Ericas (the pharmacist) refusal speaks to poor customer service and a total lack of regard for patients needing meds. read more

Awful experience. They closed for lunch 3 mins early. I had an infant that had an ear infection I need a medication. I just got there before they closed so I couldn't get it for another hour and they open up five minutes later there is always something and it's just very inconvenient. read more

Do not go to this pharmacy. The lady that was helping me at the pharmacy counter was probably the rudest lady with no help at all with my medicine that was out of stock. The only thing she said was you should of got a call. I told her I didn't and that if we can make sure they have the right number. She basically gave me a blank stare and didn't help me. I said well what do I need to do now? She basically said I don't know what to tell you. But didn't even say that she just gave a blank stare. She has no solution not even a sorry just stare. I said ok well maybe Can you ask pharmacist. The pharmacist said I think tomorrow which has been two days. I don't know her name. She has red short hair. Stay clear of her. This Pharmacy is an absolute shitshow. They're completely understaffed and dysfunctional. Shame on the management for treating their staff that way. Grossly understaffed! Another time I dropped off a prescription that needed to be compounded. It took them 24 hours to tell me that they could not fill the prescription because they are not a compounding pharmacy. Really? You couldn't figure that out while I was actually there? The lack of staffing is just so irresponsible. This is how mistakes are made. In fact, they were brought to fill a prescription that was contraindicated with the medication I was already taking? It's a good thing that I knew that! Blame the government that we don't have any small pharmacies anymore and we just have these mega giants who are completely incompetent with greed driven administration. read more

As many others have stated, the worst pharmacy ever! We have been shorted pills on several occasions. Not sure why they won't give you the medication in the manufacturers packaging like other pharmacies. You don't need to open the bottle and put them in your own bottle. Missing pills is frequent and typical. In addition, they never have the medication required. They tell us that they will have it then next day and still don't have it, yet they don't contact us to alert us to the issue. Horrible, horrible, horrible! I have had a problem here each month for the past five years. Every single month it's something new. There is one particularly rude person who I have reported to corporate in the past about but she is still there and just as rude. I'm supposed to be on auto refill but it's never ready. I live a good twenty minutes from the location so it's not worth going all the way home just to come back in an hour so I end up pulling around and wasting an hour waiting for their incompetence. And really why is this rude woman still there? She clearly hates her job and I know others hear her being rude to customers. read more

Really terrible pharmacy. Every prescription I have ends up having an issue with the pharmacy. It's not an insurance issue, it's a pharmacy issue. I've spent hours with technicians going over simple prescriptions that my doctor has sent over electronically and CVS chooses to fill a different brand, when my doctor specifically sends over the correct brand script that my insurance takes. CVS fills the wrong one, says it's ready, then spends another two days trying to sort out their mistake. Every time I go into this pharmacy it takes thirty minutes or more to do anything. The last time I came in the pharmacist wanted to speak with me about prescriptions I was picking up (that I'd already been taking for 4 years!) and made me wait for her, and then never came over to speak with me. When I said "I'm late for a flight how much longer will this be" they finally let me leave. There are always like 7 employees working behind the pharmacy so I'm not sure why every technician is running around like chickens with their heads cut off and confused about what they're doing. I've been treated very rudely by different techs. They've been impatient and rude to me and I've witnessed them being rude to other customers. I've had techs roll their eyes at me, say passive aggressive things about me to other techs like "it's just everyone today huh?" And have other techs agree with them, slam their hands on the counter out of frustration (which I can only assume is from their hostile work environment because my presence picking up a prescription can't possibly be the source of such physical anger). I'm honestly hurt by them and feel anxious and upset because I as a costumer feel mistreated and abused each time I come in, and I can feel the hostility these techs have in their work place. I feel bad for them, they're ALWAYS miserable and rude, this must be a terrible place to work. The pharmacy never knows anything, can never help me, and my prescriptions always take a million years to get filed and picked up. Idk if they keep hiring new techs and lack training or what's going on, but this pharmacy has had 20 people in line before, and as I wait in line I over hear other customers conversations with the techs and those customers seem to have just as much problems, like their prescription should be ready and has been for over a day but suddenly when they pick it up they don't have it, or they're receiving the wrong brand, or some other crazy stuff that is just unnecessary inconveniences. One time I picked up a bunch of prescriptions that I waited in store for for over one hour (and I was the only customer in the still at this time at 8pm) and when I left two prescriptions I'd just paid for were missing from the bag, when I went back the next day and told them, they said that script can't be filled for another thirty days bc it was filed last night, and I said I understand, but you forgot to put it in the bag, long story short, they never corrected their mistake, and literally didn't comprehend not putting it in the bag, just said it can't be refilled, like what don't they understand about what happened?! I've never been to such a terrible pharmacy in my life. Go to mount airy Walgreens instead or go to MedOne pharmacy in new market by Dunkin doughnuts, med one is the s best!. This CVS in new market is a pain in the butt. I'm transferring all my prescriptions. read more

Every time I need a medication for my dog there is an issue. A couple times they have been out of stock and did not inform me until I would come to pick it up days after the request (probably has happened 3 times). Last time I was told it would be ready to pick up on Wednesday at 11 and still wasn't ready when I went to pick it up Saturday morning. read more

Absolutely hands down the worst pharmacy I have ever used. I'm moving all of my prescriptions. To start with, they have consistently long wait times and they absolutely NEVER get anything right. In 4 years I haven't had a single smooth transaction with them and I've been on the same medications. They're always confused about the strength of the Rx, their automated service will text and say the Rx is ready to pick up and ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the time it NEVER actually is ready. Everyone there seems to hate their jobs and are completely inept. AVOID this place and go to the small local pharmacy in town. This CVS is never going to be any better. read more

Legitimately this store has become a laughing stock in the neighborhood. Prime example of why is what happened today. Called in a prescription. It was being transferred back from another pharmacy ( my insurance now "requires" me to fill them at a CVS. Was told it would be ready in an hour and they would text. I did mention the new ins info and asked if I could give it to them now and was told no- just bring it with you at pickup. 6 hrs later still hadn't heard so I call. "Oh we're still working on it but I will push it through and it will be ready in 15-20" is what I am told. So I get the text saying it's ready. I go to pick it up. They tell me it's not ready and it will be another 15-20 mins. I give them my updated insurance information. 45 mins later still waiting. Not sure what the heck is going on but I know for a fact I am not the 1st person to get a text saying it's ready when it's not. This is ridiculous read more

Aaron has the worst customer service and caused me to lose $29.42 in the coupons used because he didn't know what he was doing. He had to return/void my transaction. I asked will all my coupons be reactivated. He responded absolutely. He rerung my order and the bill went from $36 to$65. I asked what could he do to fix the situation. He response was well there isn't anything I can do, you could call customer service. I asked could you call them since it was your error, not mine. He stayed nope I don't have time for that. Hmmmm. After an hour plus on the phone with customer service and getting disconnected 3 times, I still couldn't get it resolved. Let's review the situation: your employee doesn't know his job and it is now problem. He was so disrespectful and rude but he made the error. After hanging up with customer service, I called the store and ask when the manager would be there so I could discuss this situation. I was put on hold and then told they didn't know when the manager would be in. I have been a cvs customer in PA and Maryland. I will be transferring my prescriptions to another pharmacy and canceling my care pass. Cvs should be embarrassed That they are unwilling to fix an error made by their associate. We are not talking about a $2 coupon but $29. I am responsible for the voice of the customer program at my organization so I am even more shocked at the horrible experience after trying to explaining the situation multiple times. Even with customer service, I was told they were going to make it right but still didn't. I was told to call back tomorrow. I lost 2 plus hours of my life tonight on this ridiculousness. I rarely do reviews except for excellent service but I am so frustrated and disappointed. I want to tell everyone about my experience. Thank goodness I do sales and customer service training. This location is fine. The front of the store is great. An employee always greets me and asks if I need help. If I do, they walk me to where I need to go. Of course the prices are "convenient store" prices. The pharmacy is different. They have always been slow. It doesn't matter if I'm in the drive thru or inside. If I have questions for the pharmacist they come over and answer with no problem. I tried the new curbside service. It worked great! I ordered online and they texted when my order was ready. I pulled up and an associate came out and waived me to the right place for pick up. All in all this is a normal/average CVS. It's clean, organized, and has a Redbox. read more

This is a busy location, so I don't mind waiting a reasonable amount of time. They open both drive-in lanes when it is busier, but don't usually employ any additional people to that service. Staff is friendly and quick in person, but I did have a disturbing caller experience there two weeks ago. While trying to transfer a prescription elsewhere, I waited on hold, twice, for 45 minutes each time, only to be told brusquely to "check with them" (the other pharmacy). The second time, I insisted she look it up since she was capable and had wasted enough of my time. She did, but didn't hide her annoyance. read more
