If you can get your prescription filled ANYWHERE else, go there. This store is not busy, but they will still make you wait over an hour to get your prescription filled. I came in and waited over an hour and 20mins and watched them fill prescriptions for at least 6 people who came in after me. Whenever I asked if it was ready, which was twice, they told me another half hour. IDK what is wrong with the pharmacists there but they didn't even apologize and I was sitting in front of them for the whole hour. So IMO they are rude and slow. I walked out after they told me it would be another half an hour, and then they texted me it was ready after I was already on my way home. Rude and disrespectful. Go to Walgreens or another CVS. read more

Again, I don't normally write reviews for national chains, but I make exceptions. This is my go to CVS because I can walk to it from my house. The staff is helpful to indifferent...like most places. But the real reason I like this place is that it was one of the few places open when we snuck in to the city in September 2005. And one of the only places that had alcohol. Very nice staff. I think the pharmacy staff is very responsive, faster and friendlier than the competition.

Still coming to this pharmacy because it really is the most convenient for me personally where I currently live. Here is my situation. When Casey is working at the pharmacy it runs like a well-oiled machine. He really is on top of it there. I'm not sure if Casey manages this area when he's on schedule but he somehow makes everything run smoother. When he's not there... I legitimately don't understand how the change can be so night and day but it's just not the same. Also I've unsigned up from the prescription auto-refills multiple times but somehow get signed back up to them and get these texts over and over again when I'm really not ready to pick up these prescriptions again. So odd. On another note, processing prescriptions and waiting never really takes that long if that's an option you have to go with, and I do appreciate the app when I am looking to intentionally refill. Note to CVS: Clone Casey so he can be there all the time. Oh, and you can't buy beer at the pharmacy counter. I'm sure this makes sense but in my NOLA brain, it did not compute. This has been my main go to pharmacy for almost my entire life. The store is always stocked and clean. The staff is beyond friendly almost always say hello or welcome as I walk in. My only complaint is that occasionally they are out of my medicine in the pharmacy but I think that has more to do with supply and demand than the cvs. read more

Those was my default CVS back when I lived in Mid-City. I'm don't know why, but CVS is in rather rare form in New Orleans. What gives? It's way better than Walgreens and Rite Aid. Anyway, what can I really say? This is a CVS like all others, although at times, I swear they have the most incompetent people manning the registers. I've had issues (twice?) with the cashiers honoring the advertised sales price or refunding me the correct amount. Although yes, I realize it's more a mechanical/technical error initially, but when I tried to politely explain the price is incorrect, boy did I get some attitude! Late one night I was craving goldfish and I thought to myself, "Is Rite Aid open?" Alas, rite aid closed at 9 pm. "is Walgreens open?" Ehh... who cares. Then I remembered CVS, my favorite pharmacy store in New Orleans, that is open for 24 hours catering to my every need, want.... desire. This is without a doubt the worst pharmacy ever. I have no choice but to use them, as my insurance company is owned by them (?) and I can't get prescriptions anywhere else. Today I called re: my BP med being part of the recall. I'm trying to tell the girl on the phone what I'm calling about and she cuts me off and says "we don't have that lot number in stock ". I told her one of the other numbers matched and the script was filled months ago. Then she says they never had that lot number. I told her that she should have said that to begin with and she hung up on me! This is the way you treat your customers? What a lousy management they must have-crappy treatment/"service " comes from the top. If they weren't allowed by management to be this rude, it wouldn't happen. You people suck. read more

Ugh... If I didn't have to use CVS for my prescriptions, I wouldn't bother. For whatever reason, they never have what I need in this store. I know it's cooler now, but how do you not carry Off spray during the fall/winter? We're in the south... I'm still being bitten, so apparently the mosquitos don't care about seasons. Parking can also be a pain here, as the lot fills easily. The pharmacy staff is nice, but I find that I often have to make requests multiple times before anything happens. For future, I'll go to Walgreens for what I actually need and only go here for an rx. The main plus is that there are plenty of self-checkout counters if you do want to purchase items outside of the pharmacy. There's never a line for them, and they all are in service most of the time. read more

In the age of technology, things are supposed to be a bit more convenient. However, at this particular CVS, the Pharmacy Techs apparently have not gotten the message yet. I gave them my card, date of birth and license. They still pull up the wrong name and information. Not once, not twice but four times!!!!! Then during the entire time they are joking and talking about a customer that has been calling and calling with a concern and no one wants to be bothered with answering the phone!!!! They were actually having this discussion while at least 8 people are waiting for assistance. Then one tech decides to eat her cool ranch chips while typing info into the computer while the others are complaining about needing to make extra money!!! Really? Really? Can you be for real? I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I love it because it's 3 blocks from my house, open 24 hours, and sells liquor. I hate it because their pharmacy is so disorganized. This is coming from me and several people I've talked to in line while we waited an HOUR (yes) for our prescriptions that had been called in a day before. One lady said they told her that her prescription would be ready at 11 am. This was at 6 pm. Once I called in a prescription that they said would be ready at 5; I left at about 6:30. Once they had no record of my prescription at all; I know I called it in because I specifically requested a pickup time 6 hours earlier than I planned on picking it up because I KNEW it wouldn't be ready. Once I was getting groceries and though I'd drop off a prescription because I was already there...the dropoff line was already at least 4 people deep and I knew for this place that meant it would be an hour and a half just to drop it off. Like one of the people in line told me, "I'm never coming to this pharmacy again." The other gripe I have is that after a certain time they direct you to use the self-checkout machines. Great, you save money by not paying a cashier, but these things are a pain in the ass. And to buy vodka you have to have them verify your license and take the protective cap thingy off so why not just check me out? One time I was there while and older lady was using the self-checkout machine. She obviously had trouble reading/hearing the instructions and was very confused. No one working tried to help her. She was so frustrated. This place would be much better if they fixed their pharmacy and got rid of the stupid self-checkout machines...or at least made it so that a human cashier is an option and not force you to use the machines. I'll keep going there late at night when I need booze and there are no other options, but for my prescription needs I'm going to the mom and pop delivery place up the road. read more

Store: If you go during the day, the employees are usually pretty friendly and helpful. During the day, the manager is walking around, offering assistance if needed. Self checkout is a huge plus; this is the only store that I know of in the city which offers self checkout. As Charles mentioned, Rochelle is super friendly and helpful when she's there. At night, forget it. I have walked in here late at night and I have seen employees sitting in chairs SLEEPING near the front. Like, seriously? I would strongly, strongly recommend finding a different pharmacy. There is always a line as seemingly the entire Uptown population comes here to get their prescriptions. I attempted to get my PreP prescription filled here (if you don't know what it is, google it) and the pharmacist ultimately refused to fill it, citing "moral objections." When I contacted corporate CVS I was given the corporate canned response, "we stand behind our pharmacists, blah blah blah." While this is technically legal, it's a shitty thing to do and ensures that I will never, ever, ever fill any prescription at CVS. read more

I've been here a few times over the years, but I found myself here quite a few time right before (currently TS) Isaac hit. They must be going through some sort of renovation based on the exposed ceiling. Either way, I applaud the staff for working right up to the storm, and they were pleasant about it. They were also smart about getting all their stock out onto the floor asap. They had rows of boxes of food and drinks just waiting for you to grab and go. No real need to stock the shelves when you wanted the whole box any how right? I'm a fan. read more

Don't use CVS for the pharmacy. Mainly my go to for alcohol, beer, and things I forgot to pick up before 11pm. Typically have a good experience here, even though their bleach cleaner selection is lacking and they don't carry oxiclean on a regular basis. I would like to address the fact that THEY NEVER HAVE ANY LA CROIX or they don't have much variety. Went tonight and scored the last 6 pack of la croix in the building (sorry fellow la croix addicts). The supply has been dwindling for like two weeks now. PLEASE ORDER MORE LA CROIX (and more variety) because it is clearly popular amongst your customers. Alrighty.. last straw. After being told two months ago that ROACH spray is a seasonal item... in New Orleans!!!!!... I was skeptical. Came in tonight.. no creole seasoning. In Louisiana !!!!!! Alright, I've got quite the gripe with this pharmacy. I used it for years and the pharmacy staff is HORRIBLE. They are the slowest workers I've ever seen. They're always understaffed. The line is always wrapped around the aisles. They frequently did not have my prescriptions ready on time, and therefore I had to wait (EVEN IF I PLACED THE ORDER THE DAY BEFORE). Sometimes they wouldn't even have my medication in stock (and it wasn't rare medication). They also seemed like ditzes.... and those are not the kinds of people I want filling my prescriptions. Worst pharmacy costumer service I have encountered in a long time. I called multiple times letting them know I about a problem. The first time I called I was talk that they would call the insurance agency and get back to me. I personally called and had my doctor call so I knew the problem with the insurance agency was on their end. After 4 hours and no call back, I called again and was told that "I don't have to do anything for you" when I told them I was upset that they had yet to call the insurance agency. Pharmacy refused to sell syringe. One of the clerks behind the counter - I hope she wasn't a licensed pharmacist - asked me what I would use the syringe for, and then said that they could not sell it without a prescription anyway. First question I think is prohibited by privacy laws. After leaving, I thought "even in our backwards state, why would they not want people to buy clean syringes?" I looked it up and the CVS worker is wrong - good for Louisiana! (btw my syringe IS for use with a legal prescription :)) but now my child won't have their medicine tonight :( read more

Honestly, if I could give 0 stars, I would. This is a convenient location for me, but every time I've been here, the staff has been very rude, dismissive, and all around lazy. I even saw an employee drinking out of a flask one night! Today was the final straw. I went to the pharmacy a week ago to drop off a prescription. They told me that I wasn't a previous customer, even though I had been coming to cvs for years. Today when I went to pick up my prescription, they said they had no record of it, and then they said that I picked it up last week, the same day I dropped it off, which I did not do. I've been waiting for 20 minutes for them to, now, "find it," and the other staff behind the pharmacy keeps giving me nasty looks because they actually have to get up and work, for once. Coming from the north where there is a CVS on every block, I was surprised to see this CVS in nola when I haven't noticed any others. It's a typical chain except molded to fit into New Orleans- has lots of alcohol (something i've NEVER seen in CVS before). Has a tiny water case but rows of alcohol. On the small side but has pharmacy and does community things like flu shots. read more

This is the worst, slowest pharmacy I have ever been to. The only reason I go is because of the location/convenience and Walgreens doesn't sell alcohol. I don't even try to fill prescriptions there anymore because I always end up waiting in line for 30 minutes. The staff is unhelpful and they are always out of stock! This CVS pharmacy location is easily the best pharmacy I have ever been to. I'm not even kidding - or exaggerating. I recently (3 months ago) switched from the Walgreens on St. Charles (one of the absolute worst pharmacies I have had the ill luck to deal with) and couldn't be happier with my decision. The pharmacy staff are kind, polite, patient, concerned, and go above and beyond to make sure you're getting all the applicable coupons and savings. I have two medications that are notoriously difficult to fill and this CVS has *never* called me to delay or cancel a prescription because they didn't have the medication. This is much more than I can say for my former pharmacy, which never had the correct amount of medication and rarely had *any* of my medications at all. This CVS is a dream. read more
