A very convenient location along the border of the Garden District and Irish Channel. Product: Just like any typical Walgreens, you'll find Rx and OTC medications, beauty products, camera and other electronics, and a small food selection, dried and frozen. It is rather unremarkable in this respect. (3 stars) Service: Counterside. I've found the employees to be competent enough, and they are mostly long-term, so you can get to know them (I used to live in the Irish Channel a few blocks away and went here often then). The lines can get a little long, but it's because it's near the touristy part of Magazine, so there's a lot of foot traffic. (3 stars) Facilities: This location has been here a number of years (over a decade, at the very least). It is a clean, stand-alone brick building typical of this chain. There is off-street parking with access via Magazine and the side streets. The rear parking is somewhat shared with other storefronts on that block. The interior is neat. This is my favorite Walgreens. As I've said before, the pharmacy workers are saints and always help me (especially with my long questions when I didn't have health insurance). There's even a drive through pharmacy for when you're too sick or in too much of a hurry to get out of the car, You can get anything from makeup to food to tp here. There's even good deals- this week buy one get one free on big bottles of vitamins. This week someone took my bag that I'd already paid for. $60 worth of vitamins, cleaning supplies, etc gone out the door. The lady behind the counter chased the woman down and took back my bag. My hero! They also help me out picking out makeup and lotion for my white girl skin. read more

was solicited by phone to get the new 2023 over 65yo booster. recommended i make the appt on line. did so, specified which shot, was given a date and time, and a confirmation text. received a reminder the day before. go there, no shots, total rudeness, and was told their communication system doesn't know their inventory. after 12 years (and two years of really bad service) i'm going elsewhere. read all the rest of the reviews before you decide. read more

It's a Walgreens...but with a deceptively large parking lot so that's pretty helpful since this is a really crowded section of Magazine. The staff seems competent and no one cursed me out so that's a plus. (Yes, this has happened at other Walgreens in the city) The store is clean and well-stocked... I am sick with covid and pneumonia. They told me that I could get my prescriptions at 5:30 on 10/26. My neighbor hurried and went to pick it up. 3 different staff members lied. One of the best things about a national chain being on one of the more popular shopping areas with high end shops and restaurants all around, the prices (from what I can see) are the same as all of the other locations, which is pretty darn awesome. You can find all of the same services and amenities at this location that you can at any other location in the city. They do have a nice selection of seasonal items. The restrooms were neat, clean and well stocked. Service was quick. The location is a bit far from where I normally hang out, but if I am in the area and need something, it is easy in and out. They do have their own parking lot, which is a plus in this area. read more

Giving 2 stars vs 1 because I feel for the pharmacy staff who are so busy and trying, but they are SO overworked and understaffed. I've been getting my prescriptions here for about 10 years. Pre-Covid, I would have given 3 or 4 stars, but since Covid, especially, it seems impossible to pick-up a prescription (all of mine are refilled and ready to just be picked up... if only it were that easy) in less than a 45 minute wait/line. I've gone inside and done the drive through. My time at the counter is less than a minute, but I'm assuming people up front must drop off prescription and then stand and wait the 20 or so minutes to fill that prescription and then check that person out. I'm usually about 5th in line, and averaging 10 minutes per each checkout before me seems entirely too long. I just picked up a different prescription from CVS on Prytania and the line was about 10 people long, but I got through it in about 10 minutes because they have a separate "pick-up only" line. So, those of us who refilled on the app and only need a minute at most for our transaction can get in and out. I wish this Walgreens would implement that. It is the most convenient store but this is the last prescription I still have/had here (bc of auto-refill) but this is my last time I'll stand here hoping I can get my kids from school at 3:20 when I got in line here at 2:15 (it's 2:40 and I'm up from 5th to 3rd in line). I'm over this. Will use CVS or Costco, this Walgreens is not bouncing back and I'm assuming their staffing will not change. I just can't give up an hour for each monthly prescription I need to pick up. What's the point of auto-refill and refills through the app?! read more

This is by far the worst Walgreens I've ever been to, the pharmacy is a hot mess, it took multiple days to get the prescription my doctor sent over and they had to look around for 15 minutes to even find it. The staff was not helpful and I had to go so far out of my way to get the medicine I needed. I've worked in customer service and I'm the last to give a bad review but this was beyond frustrating and disappointing. read more

I'm giving this Walgreens 5 stars because they actually saved me some money and they didn't have to. I was in the area, so I stopped in because I had to pick up some nail polish and Walgreens is the only one that carries it. I got the name brand nail polish and the Walgreens brand clear coat. When I went to pay, the beauty counter lady told me that the name brand nail polish was 2 for1. So, I was able to get the name brand clear polish instead of the Walgreens brand. Yeah, not a huge deal, but she didn't have to point it out to me. Tip: don't park in the parking lot overnight. You will probably be towed. read more

Always convenient and stocked with the items in the sales ad. Score! I stopped in for a few items and stayed longer than planned because of the wide selection of items available. Yes, they have the expected health & beauty; over the counter meds; and, assorted nick-knacks. However, they also have really cool seasonal items as well as excellently priced souvenirs. Plus, the staff here is VERY helpful and professional, especially Pam. I met Pam because she was working on the register; however, she's also a Beauty Advisor for the store. In addition to getting me through the line efficiently, she also gave me a coupon book for my next visit and showed me the points I'd earned during the visit. She even shared that the store would soon be putting a chair in their beauty department to provide various beauty services. Sweet! HORRIBLE costumer service!!! I ordered a poster and I received an email confirming it was ready to pick up, when i arrived the photo department it was closed because the machine was broken. So i asked about my poster and showed the manager my email. He stated "oh someone forgot to call you, those emails are automatic." Yelp needs to update the hours, while the store may be open to midnight, the pharmacy is only open until 10 pm Mon-Fri and 6 pm weekends.

This Pharmacy has been my primary for over 8 plus years . Today I had to wait for scripts to fill . Walked around store selected a few items and then looked at a few magazines . As I am standing there less than a min a woman clerk said rudely "you cant' look at them unless you buy it" . I said that I might but I am just killing time waiting for a delay in pharmacy filling script. Totally blew my mind that this was what this customer service rep thought was people skills . Horrible service with an on-line pick up. My order sat from Jan 7-Jan 15 with no notice it had arrived. None. Zippo. Thankfully I remembered it was there last night before leaving town tomorrow. My mother, who lives nearby, offered to go pick it up for me....They gave her a nightmare hassle and would not release order to her (4 makeup items and comb......). They would not release because I had not authorized her on line to pick it up....well, when I placed the order eons ago, why would I say she was picking it up? Imagined I would be notified once it had arrived (ha - what an idiot I was). Manager had to get involved and was not particularly nice either . This is a broken on-line ordering process, a broken processing of orders once they hit the store, and clearly no ownership of making sure anything at all is customer-oriented. I have been a CVS customer for ages, and placed this order or items CVS did not have available. Back to CVS I go....never deal with Walgreens again. Fix the process from start to finish, and when a customer has been inconvenienced to this degree, own up to it, make an accomodation for the pick up in a happy and customer-oriented manner and accept you could have done all of this much better. I ordered online some one hour photos print and for the second time they showed that they really don't care how will be your photo. The first time the photos were printed in red background. Now they cut my head of some photos...really??? I went there because it was closer and faster but certainly Ill not print photos there anymore. read more
