Maybe it's due to the quiet residential neighborhood or the smaller size compared to the northern Blvd/Bell Blvd location. This spot will always be a place of infamy for me. It's where I got my Pfizer shots, getting to be a little part of history to help eradicate our current situation. It was well -organized and my waiting time was practically non existent. The staff was helpful and engaging and didn't feel bogged down by rehashing the same info all day. For my first shot, the technician who provided it was so unfazed by her duties that after I got a little teary-eyed, she thought I was experiencing a reaction, but I assured her, the tears stinging my eyes were of relief. She escorted me to the waiting area, set up the timer, and I was on my merry way in 15 mins. Sadly, I was hoping to treat myself to some ice cream... but this has to be the only CVS I've been to that didn't have any freezers. Instead, I bought a few snacks for the road and hightailed it to my destination. Fortunately, other than a sore arm the next day, I've had no other symptoms. In fact, after my second shot, I didn't even have that unless I applied pressure to the area. My second shot was done also as easily. And the technician I had was just the sweetest. So I go to CVS to pick up a prescription and it is not ready when I get there. I ask how long is it going to be? And I am told 10 minutes So I wait 20 minutes before returning to the registerand ask for my and I am told that it is not ready. Hmmm! Another 10 minute wait and my name is called and I pick up my prescription. Not really upset about this but it does point out that perhaps they should have another person at the register for busy times. CVS is usually my go to place for prescriptions and all the other items that have to do with health maintenance. The CVS brand cookies are tasty, they have a good greeting card selection and all items seem to be in stock. When an item is not available you can get a rain check. The worst CVS ever, they NEVER answer the phone and when I addressed this to them in person they claimed that they are very busy and get a lot of calls. I tried calling this morning and was waiting on hold to speak to someone for 15 minutes and NO ONE ANSWERED, so I go to the pharmacy and low and behold the place is empty and dead silent. Ok so WHY DIDN'T YOU ANSWER THE PHONE THEN?! They're so lazy and should not have this job. This is the worst in the chain. I have been waiting since Wednesday for a prescription to be filled. It not a life or death kinda of drug but it does mean the loss of eyesight in one eye. Today is Friday. Thursday I went to the drug store and was able to pick up part of the prescription. I asked when the eye drops would be ready she said the next day. I called today and asked when the prescription was called in from the drs. Office. She said that Morning. She told me the cost of the two drops would be over a 1000 dollars. I asked if they took GOODRX coupons even though you can go onto GOODRX and get coupons for the two drugs. I was told to speak to the pharmacist, she would tell me it only works for generics. I have drug insurance but I haven't used up my deductible yet. I feel I have been lied to and that they're not going by all the rules. Go somewhere else. Don't come here for COVID vaccine! Booked a flu and COVID 19 vaccine, got there and confirmed that were 2 shots and was told to wait. Which was fine until the pharmacist who give me the shot said I only booked for one and that they ran out of COVID vaccine. Went back to the register and again confirmed that I had 2 booked but they said I was supposed to get a call about the Covid - I definitely didn't get a call. In addition they said, in the future, I need to call to see when they will get the vaccine because it is "supposely popular" . So I have nothing to do but to call them, and if and only if, I was lucky to secure a spot for the popular vaccine but can be let down later because they may ran out before I get there, again. No thank you, I think there are plenty of other places which offers this vaccine! read more

This CVS is horrible, shelves are barely stocked. Some of the staff is helpful but otherwise the store should be closed. Walgreens or Rite aid may be a better choice for this area. I have lived in this neighborhood since late 1999. CVS Pharmacy is conveniently located near my apartment in Windsor Park. I used to really like this store. I used to get my prescriptions filled there, and I liked to shop there. The prices seemed to be good, and they had good sales. Unfortunately, over the last several years, my shopping experience has gotten worse and worse. The prices have gone up, especially the last few years. My health insurance stopped allowing CVS Pharmacy to fill my prescriptions, a few years ago. I wasn't happy that Emblem Health excluded CVS from filling my prescriptions. Now the closest pharmacy is Walgreens, over a mile from my apartment. Soon after the COVID-19 pandemic hit the USA, CVS has become one of the worst stores to shop at, or get prescriptions filled. Their prices way too high. Too many items are constantly out of stock. The store management sucks. People who get their prescriptions filled there, tell me that their scripts are not ready when they should be. Also too many scripts are out of stock. I don't know what went wrong with CVS Health, but I put the blame squarely on the corporation. This neighborhood deserves a much better store than this. I say "shape up or ship out". When you google the location, it doesn't show the pharmacy closes at 8pm, so my fault for arriving at the counter at 8:02pm, however, after explaining the situation of picking up medications for a 73-year old disabled veteran who was just discharged from the hospital after surgery, a manager inside the pharmacy turned to the cashier next to him and asked if she could take one more customer; she obliged and told me to wait at the door. After waiting at the door for 10 minutes, she walked out of the pharmacy, right past me. A minute later, the male manager exited the pharmacy and I asked if I should continue to wait there, and he said yes, that they would help me shortly. After waiting a while longer, the manager in the pharmacy insisted that no one told me they would help me, and it was now too late to get the meds. The meds were not transferable to another location since a controlled substance was involved. I spoke with the store manager who called the male manager and asked what happened, and he confirmed our interaction and the cashier saying she would take us and she told us where to wait. Both him and the store manager continuously apologized to me as the pharmacy manager refused to help. I switched my personal prescriptions to a different CVS location years ago after numerous problems with this location, but my elderly parents out of blind loyalty, have kept their business at the 73rd Ave location despite empty shelves, rude employees, endless lines, earlier than advertised closures, and catching overcharging on their receipts. This was straw that broke the camels back. On top of that, when I was finally able to reach someone at the hospital to send the prescription to a different location, I had to pay for them out-of-pocket; insurance couldn't cover them again so soon because this location had not canceled the order despite saying they would. read more

Worst cvs ever. Lines are brutally long and cashiers are so slow. Most of the time the pharmacy has one person working the register. They scream out your prescriptions as if it should be common knowledge to all your probable neighbors. Extremely rude, frequently run out of medications you can't miss days of. The worst, if I could give zero stars i would. Switching to rite aide down the block hopefully they know how to run their business better. There is one women who works at the pharmacy who is lovely and always has a smile on her face and asks how you are etc... She is the only saving grace for this place. read more

Not good! - Poorly run and organized! - But, what makes things even more complicated are the "Complicated" & this is a nice and politically correct word for the people who frequent this location; Your typical customer that frequents this location are "Problematic and Troubled Individuals" - Get a few of these types of people in the store and it can easily bring operations to a grinding halt. I would avoid this location if I could - Lines get really long because people are unreasonable. Staff try to act nice; but again - they are quickly overwhelmed by the insanity that floods the store. Went in to pick up my prescription that Dr. called in. Just changed my insurance so had to go to drop off side to give them new insurance card. The girl told me pharmacist will have to redo the RX with the insurance and should take 5- 10 minutes so I should take a seat. I waited a good 10 minutes and nothing. I went back to the cashier who helped me before and she just told me to wait. I waited another 5 minutes and went to another cashier who got me the prescription. So it was sitting there no one called my name even though they knew I was waiting and mind you it was not busy! read more

This particular CVS is, at times, dirty and in need of a good vacuuming. It gets clogged with little old ladies that will randomly stop with their shopping carts in the intersections of the aisles and not move for days. A few times, I've overheard customers arguing with cashiers when they are trying to use expired coupons. I'm also not impressed with the pharmacy here. I've waited upwards of 15 minutes when there are no other customers to drop off a prescription. The pharmacy techs usually come off as rude when they take a prescription order. There have also been multiple times that medications were not ready when promised (i.e. I was told a ten minute wait, went shopping in the store then sat by the pharmacy for an additional 20 minutes). This should not be the case because I've never seen any CVS pharmacist actually practicing pharmacology (a.k.a. compounding) there, I've only seen them count pills and place them in a bottle then affix a label. I often shake my head and wonder why my copays are so high for medications. On another note, the shelves are usually well stocked with grocery items... But who really goes to CVS to shop for pet food, cookies, laundry detergent and dish soap. This is why someone invented Petco, supermarkets and Costco. read more

This CVS is the closest to my house and the one I most frequently go to...but it is definitely not my favorite. The staff overall could be A LOT friendlier and more helpful. I once came in to buy a few items so I didnt grab a basket or a shopping cart - I ended up picking up a lot more items then I originally came in for and because of that I had a lot to carry in my hands. This lead me to drop my cell phone right in front of an employee. She looked down at my phone, looked up at me, and kept on walking. It took a lot for me not to complain. I am also frequently questioned or given attitude to when i come in to return items. I understand it is not ideal to have things returned to your store, but if you want me to come back then you better be nice. Also, tidy up the store a little...it always feels dirty and dusty in there. If this wasnt the closest location I would not shop here, however this store has provided me with a lot of last minute essentials. read more

I would give zero stars if i could. This CVS pharmacy and the store overall has got to be the worst CVS EVER! The pharmacy either literally never picks up the phone or leaves it off the hook and if you do manage to speak to someone after a ridiculously long wait, these unbelievably rude pharmacy staff members will get on the phone just to put you on hold just to never return. Even my doctors hate sending prescriptions to this CVS because they know of the rude staff and how calls are NEVER answered. Everything takes forever there and prescriptions always take way longer to fill than any other pharmacy I've ever been to. It's crazy because the bell and northern CVS is like at least 3-4 times busier but i never have the issues i have at 73rd ave CVS at bell Blvd CVS so frankly i feel that they have no excuse except the fact that their shoddy staff are super rude and are obviously highly untrained. Then they proceed to tell me with an attitude that they tried to call me to let me know they didn't have the medicine in stock. I asked what, number they called and she tells me this phone number I've never had in my life which is weird because whenever my meds are ready I've received text messages to my phone with my correct number that all, the sudden they magically don't have it the system. CVS taxes nontaxable items. Shop elsewhere for all your nontaxable needs (aspirin, ibuprofen, eye drops, cold medications, etc.). The NYS.gov website clearly has these items listed as nontaxable. This is currently the closest CVS to me. Its located in a shopping center that allows you to knock out a few errands: grocery shopping, banking, Karate class? and grab a pizza pie all while waiting for your Xanax and muscle relaxers to be filled. The pharmacy staff is nice. I'm sure a lot of people yell at them instead of their crummy insurance company because they actually get to see them. The store is usually clean, however the layout makes the aisles towards the back a little crowded. I wish their cooler/refrigerator section carried more things. read more

Your average CVS. I come here for last minute items because it's closest to where I live. Walking in here is kind of like walking into a carpeted cave because it's dark and dusty. It has your typical items but things are a little hard to find. It's almost impossible to find an employee to ask where things are, unless you go to the front or back cashiers, and depending on the day, they can either be helpful or rude. I used the photo service once and it was decent. If you go during the day, you will most likely have to maneuver around elderly people with shopping carts. read more

First off: I go here, because it is right around the corner from me. You can be lucky and everything goes well, some of the staff are super nice and i feel a little sorry for them to give low stars. BUT...they frequently have wrong discount signs on their items, some of the staff is terrible and in the pharmacy they sometimes don't give you the amount of medication your doctor prescribed. I was for example not done with adjusting the dosage of my medication. One time they gave me the prescribed amount, despite having a lower dosage on the prescription. Next time they went by the dosage and gave me less than prescribed. When I asked them about it and explained my situation, they first mixed my prescriptions up (an older one with the new one). Then they told me my insurance wouldn't give out more than a month supply and I would have to use the insurance mail order (which I never heard of). If you have a CVS card and either coupons directly on the card or printed from the machine, beware of the lady with the short blonde hair (maybe in her late 50s, early 60s). She always messes it up or tells you there are no discounts on your card, when there definitely are (if you have the app, it shows it). I already missed some discounts because of her...ok, my own fault, I didn't check the receipt immediately, because I was in a rush. Anyway, this should not happen. Try to go to the other register if you see her, check your receipt right there (better look at the display while she's scanning) and have your phone with the app ready to show her, she's wrong. I'm really annoyed about these things. Probably gonna file a complaint, if that helps in any case. Another thing to be careful about are the photo machines where you print out photos yourself. It automatically chooses the printer and sometimes switches in between. I had half of my pictures coming out with an inch of grey on the side of them. Luckily I saw it and wasn't charged (after they looked at me like "what are you complaining about??"). I tried the 1 hour print out from my computer and that worked better. read more

Recent interaction involved insurance issue. Was prescribed a medication for my ear. Cost was very high due to a deductible. Asked pharmacist to check for a generic version. Was told I would receive a call back. Several hours later had not heard from her, although she insisted she left a voicemail on my cell phone. Went to another local pharmacy, Prime Drugs, where the young lady behind the counter went to the trouble to look up an alternate medication. Instead of paying $125, I paid $26.42. On another occasion, i forgot to fill a prescription and only had a few pills left. Was advised by a female pharmacist that I "shouldn't have waited to fill the prescription". Other incidents in the past have completely turned off our family. Will never deal with their pharmacy again. read more

This is "my cvs." However, yesterday morning I came in to buy some Tylenol and had an unpleasant incident with an employee who has been there forever. I started to ask about a coupon I did not receive... With an annoyed voice and raised eyebrows, she said, "who did you speak to?" Her body language and tone, said what does this annoying customer want. I put my hands up, basically letting her know, you don't want my business. I have been coming to this cvs for years and seen her run hot and cold. As I walked away, she defends herself by saying "you need to explain things better". She did not give me chance. Customer service is lacking by this employee. Yet, there have been times when I have seen her be nice. Perhaps, she has become too comfortable over the years and feels she can react to situations, depending on her mood at that moment. I have seen this woman frustrated too many times. I will avoid this "employee". PS Last week I did not receive extra bucks on my receipt. The cashier said the cvs bucks will show up the next time I come. It wasn't "working" that day...
