This review is only about the pharmacy area of this location. I recently had a prescription I needed to pick up and also had a change in insurance. Upon walking up to the pharmacy counter there was one person being helped and one in front of me. Once it was my turn I had explained to the girl that my insurance had changed. She asked me to step over to the consultation side to wait for the pharmacist. As I waited about 20 minutes (the pharmacist was on the phone and filling prescriptions) for the pharmacist, there were 4 people who had walked up for vaccinations. The pharmacist proceeded to put all their vaccinations together and vaccinate them all before approaching me. Maybe these other people had appointments, but I'm not sure. As she finally makes her way over to me, she asks me how she can help me. Although the girl at the register had told her what I needed and gave her my insurance card. Once everything was entered it took me about 3 minutes to check out. However there were 12 people who came in after me who were helped and left as well as 8 people who were helped at the drive through. I'm sure there are rules about who can enter information, but it just seemed like I could have been helped and been out of there before half of the new people were helped instead of being made to wait. Since the last pharmacist left, it had been increasingly difficult to do anything with this particular pharmacy department. Online ordering needs to be improved, and customer service. I did an online order it said it was ready I went to the store They said they canceled it I never got anything about it I called their customer service number 1-800-746-7287 and all it was was a game of passing me to each person for different people never got anybody on the phone it was a half hour. The customer service sucks I would never deal with CVS again! It's bad enough you're aggravated because you drove somewhere to pick up your order to be told it was canceled and now they play games passing you around the phone. read more

We were always customers at the Holbrook CVS and hated it. The Holbrook location was always too busy and backed up, the pharmacy department was down right nasty, and we just had enough. We met the pharmacist at this CVS in patchogue during Covid when we got vaccinated. We started getting all our vaccines here. We noticed right away that he was always pleasant and seemed to go the extra mile for his customers. He reminds me of the old fashioned pharmacists that always watch out for their customers, knows everyone by name and is always happy to help and give good advice. He made us feel watched out for. We were happy to switch all our prescriptions to this location and it's been a pleasure since. Unfortunately, in the new year our insurance started forcing us to go somewhere else (not covering CVS at all anymore), and I was so upset by it. My experience has been that they should close the location. Let's start with the condition of the employees- they (not the pharmacy) are unkempt, do not have customer service training, which is obvious once you have any encounters! They are Rude, and unwilling to handle issues! The problem is the store should be closed! They have in this one particular location - gone through manager after manager. I would not recommend CVS. They never called to pick up a prescription... we went there early to pick up and the woman at the register said we'd get a text. (This was as 12 and then they're closed from 1-2 for lunch) ... we didn't realize they closed at 4 but so we called and it said the prescription was ready ... however the pharmacy was already closed. read more

I have a bad eye infection and really did not feel well. Downright cranky. Shelly, a pharmacist, appeared to be having a terrible day as well. There was not much staff helping her, the place was mobbed, and the phone ringing off the wall. When it came time for her to help me, you would never know how frazzled she was. She greeted me with a warm smile and helped me figure out the problem with my insurance card. She then quickly got my Rx filled because she I was suffering. I work in healthcare and I know that when it gets crazy, it is almost impossible to offer good customer service. Shelly made me laugh and really helped me out today, so I thought someone should know. If you think you have this card called "CVS CAREPASS " BECARFULLY. ensure to check your bank account, because you don't know Why? and How? they get access into your bank account and get the money every month for $5,oo. I used to be picked my sister or Mom medication and I did not have cashed with me at the moment and I was using my debit card for the pay!! I did not check my bank account until last week and I saw this charged. It was a surprise for me, because I do not have any card from this store!!! and i am not even a membership for this place. After that I called this CVS CAREPASS PHONE NUMBER 1800-746-7287. they can not give any information about this problem and I told them I never gave my bank information, not even have a card and did not sign any paper for any FFFF... information. The best thing to do is change your debit card and, see how they are going to get this pay. Trying to figure out if it's laziness or inability. Had a script called in and when I went with my ID card they told me it's expired. Meanwhile used it 3-4 times in the last 12 months. Then they tell me they don't take my coverage; that they technically haven't found yet?! Then tell me to go to Walgreens. Then Walgreens tells me that they don't take my coverage but CVS does in fact?! All I did was call an 800 number from my provider and my provider squared it away. Question is: why couldn't they just do this instead of passing the buck. read more

Very rude pharmacy staff! I love CVS and shop at the Holbrook and Bayport locations often. But this one is the worst. My Son who had a fever and strep throat called me from the pharmacy stating the employee Patty needed more information other than his insurance card. I called the pharmacy and the another employee answered and was very rude and unkind. I then asked for Patty, waited for 5 min to have her mumble in the phone and hang up. I've talked to the pharmacist Patrick now several times to get a RX filled and he complains to tell me about how he is the only one working and he's working the drive through, etc. Why would I care about that, if he needs more help he should speak to his bosses. read more

CVS pharmacy has major issues. Not the people that work there, the phone and computer systems. I placed a refill over the phone, it said everything was fine and I could pick up the order at 4pm. When I went there there was "no record" of anything. My prescription was not ready, there was no record of my call - NOTHING. I called the pharmacist and she said that I was not the first customer to report this. I will be leaving CVS and going someplace else from now on. read more

I live quite close to this CVS location, and stop in very often for many things i happen to need. Many reviews speak negatively of the pharmacy staff, but i can surely say that the cashiers and the rest of the staff are very kind and helpful! Every time i walk in, im greeted with a smile and many of the employees seem to recognize me and my younger brothers who i sometimes bring along. Wether i'm just there to get some drinks and a candy bar, or getting a lot of stuff, every cashier that has helped me has always done so politely and with a smile. I am also almost always able to find what i need here, anything from beauty products, to food, or even toys for my siblings. The staff i've dealt with has always made my visit pleasant, which makes everything easier! I'm always grateful to have a good store nearby for things i need quickly. read more

I'm very polite when I go places. And I expect at least a professional courtesy of people who work in a place like this. And I could understand if this was just a one time incident but there are numerous accounts where I've left that pharmacy feeling as if I've been talked down to. I went in through the drive through today to pick up two prescriptions. The pharmacist Wendy only gave me one, I hit the button to get her to come back to the window,some young woman came to the window and then proceeded to give me an attitude about how she wasn't the one who helped me. I don't understand how it's my fault that I didn't get both of my prescriptions. The workers there are rude, inconsiderate, and my opinion not doing their job very well. The worst part of this is that it makes me feel uncomfortable going into the pharmacy and asking questions about medications that I'm taking and potential interactions or side effects, which is dangerous.
