This review is for the store, not the pharmacy department, because I shop here when I need over the counter items. Recently stopped in to buy some Salonpas Lidocaine patches because my shoulders and neck are in a lot of pain. Their price was better than other stores. Also picked up some Tylenol arthritis meds. Store was bright , clean and well organized Although I can't say they were well stocked. I picked up the last box of Salonpas; I would have bought another if they had it on the shelf. On my way out, picked up a few spontaneous purchases because I like the brand of popcorn they carry because it has clean ingredients, and some Unreal chocolate. Definitely should have stopped here prior to the gym rather than after when I was ravenous! read more

Twice in a row, this pharmacy failed to give me the customary reminder about refilling my meds. One of the counter staff was extremely rude and condescending to me about it, even having the audacity to say it was my fault, even after I told them that my autism makes my memory faulty the first time they failed to give me the standard reminder call. The pharmacist I spoke to the second time they made this error seemed very unconcerned and blase about this mistake, saying basically "Ooopsie, when I entered a changed medication it wiped out the call back feature, and he had no idea their computers did that", even though I had oveeheard him say he had worked at that same pharmacy for many years. Thanks to their second in a row failure, I am now without the extra medications I had slowly built up for years. Again, they couldn't have cared less and gave me major attitude about it. I will never go back to them and encourage others to take their business elsewhere. read more

The pharmacy staff at this CVS is literally the rudest most unprofessional I've ever encounter . As a health care professional myself I'm appalled at lack of just common courtesy to customers needing their medication . If there is an issue with any insurance and or RX that you need they basically tell you to go figure it out yourself and they act like they have zero time to help you and that your an inconvenience to them . This is The CVS Pharmacy in The Pearl District in Portland . Someone in leadership with CVS needs to do something about this . read more

I transferred from the Safeway pharmacy to this pharmacy. The only reason was because of an abrasive employee over at Safeway on Lovejoy literally slamming the door on me while I try to get my credit card information to pay for the prescription because she wanted to go home right on the dot never mind you this prescription is necessary for me to be OK not just for my medical condition but it's type of medication if I don't take it, I could have life-threatening issues present not sure if this woman knew that and skin care or was just ignorant to the fact, but I was literally pleading with her to give me two minutes to get my information and the reason why I had to get other information is because they didn't know how to run a gift card from their own company so I switched to CVS pharmacy in the Pearl just out of convenience and to get away from that situation wow what a mistake that was this pharmacy first of all the hours are ridiculous close at 7 o'clock every night on the dot and that's not the major issue although that is super frustrating. Main issue are the people on the counter? They are so many things other than a competent nice and knowledgeable about medical conditions, drugs, and patient rights specifically HIPAA second time I fill up a prescription here. The pharmacist makes me wait for five minutes with no one at the pharmacy but three people behind the counter, all looking at a computer screen. They need three people to look at that screen. She finally comes to me and says what can I do for you as I need to get a refill she said what is it? I said I would rather not broadcast my prescription and thus my medical condition to the people in the neighborhood, this was in front of everyone if you don't mind if I can just provide some identifying information (which is what she should have asked for in the first place) all a while thinking about the HIPPA laws that were just violated. Of course her body language and tone informed me that this was annoying to her. Incompetent, disrespectful, and not the most impressive work ethic. read more

This is possibly the worst experience I have ever had with any pharmacy anywhere in the US, which is truly saying something. Words fail me. It is essentially a part time job to collect your meds here: You cant talk to staff on the phone: It's AI. You basically have to go there to talk to them, but then when you go there, wait in line, etc, they are not really all that helpful. I cannot imagine in what universe anyone could find this particular pharmacy of any value. My care provider pretty much insisted I change--but it's convenient to where I live--but the hours are impossible if you work a full time job--they give you the run around over and over and over again for the same reasons. The whole thing is at best Kafkaesque, if only it were interestingly bad, but it isn't even that. It's just a complete waist of time. Go elsewhere. read more

If I could I would have given this pharmacy 0 stars. I loved it about a year ago, but there is a Pharmacist there Winnie, I believe is her name and she literally made me wait a day to get my prescription filled. She also had my doctor call in twice for that same RX. Then she wouldn't bill my insurance for it and said she "didn't want anything to get by her". If I was to fill my rx through my insurance my doctor would have to call in another time and change the dosage of my medication. It's like wow. Talk about jumping through hoops. A year ago there was a great pharmacy team and better atmosphere all around. Don't go here if you need an rx within two days of having it called in. I will not be going back. Peace. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience deserves to be shared. I called the CVS Pharmacy in the Pearl District and was shocked by how RUDE and unprofessional the pharmacist was. She had an immediate attitude--like I was inconveniencing her just by calling. She made it crystal clear--without saying it outright--that her lunch was more important than helping a provider. Her tone was cold and dismissive, with zero courtesy or concern. Pharmacists are supposed to be healthcare professionals. This one acted like customer service was beneath her. If showing basic decency is too much, maybe it's time to reevaluate your role. We all have off days--but this wasn't that. This was someone who simply didn't care. CVS, do better. Your customers deserve better. read more

Just what I needed! With all the walking I've been doing I have collected some gnarly blisters on my tootsies. Very painful and at this point it is difficult for me to even walk a little. Hobbling along I decided to fight for my right to walk in comfort and I found myself in the bandage aisle... which is super full of different types of bandaids. I had no idea! They have everything from cushioning bandages (what I bought) to ones with honey on it! Honey! I also located some cushioning inserts for added comfort! The stock is somewhat picked over in places but there was definitely enough choices on offer to make me happy. As I wrote this I'm sitting on a bench across from the store. I have applied everything and am about to try walking again... wish me luck! read more

It's a miracle to get through on their phone line. Consistently well over 30 minutes, if they're able to pick up at all. Often dropped when I'm around an hour wait. Just trying to refill a script bc they don't recognize the script number on their automated system. I could walk there and back sooner than I'll ever get helped on this line. It was business as usual until after I left the store and realized that I lost my hat. We walked back to CVS, Larry offered to help with no hesitation. He confirmed that I had my hat when he rang my purchase. We traced our steps and sure enough found my hat across the street! I was so happy! I didn't think I'd have my very special U.S. Open 2020 hat. Totally made my day. Customer service that I received from Larry at CVS Pearl District was above and beyond. It was much appreciated. They sold me cold medicine that expired a YEAR ago. Then when I returned it, they weren't willing to give me a discount towards a new box so I just left. Also had to ask the employee to pull his mask up over his nose. There's also a houseless person who hangs out in the stairs to get inside from the parking garage so you can't use the elevator or stairs. read more

Just walked to this location from Old Town to purchase one simple thing, and they wouldn't let me in 5 minutes to closing time, with other customers in the store that walked in right in front of me, even after explaining how quickly I'd be in and out. The pharmacy staff is very nice and they tend to be helpful when I'm there, however since they are chronically under staffed the phone goes unanswered all day and prescriptions will go unfilled unless you make a trip to fill it. Then they will tell you they'll get it filled next day making you go multiple times because there is no earthy way to talk to someone unless you make it there in person. The actual store is very scarce product wise and maybe that's due to the situation downtown, but at least their hours seem to be back to normal. read more

They just literally do not answer the phone. I have tried calling again and again, and it doesn't matter what time of day I call, I always have to give up after being on hold for an hour. If you ever run into any problems with your prescription being filled, you will have to physically have to go to the store to talk to someone. Do NOT use this CVS Pharmacy! My husband scheduled a Covid booster thru their online scheduling system, along with a flu shot. The pharmacist was so over her head. First she claimed my husband didn't have an appointment, until he showed her the email confirmation. Then she didn't understand that he was willing to pay for the flu shot bc insurance denied it. Then she couldn't work the register to take our payment. She had no help, and we ended being there for an hour. Other customers lined up waiting to pick up their prescriptions. These workers are severely understaffed due to shitty management and it's truly appalling to see how overwhelmed these pharmacists are. Not to mention how inhumane it is to leave people without their life saving medicine for weeks on end. It really goes to show the decline compassion these days. I've never had issues with any other pharmacy or cvs. The standard set here is one to be mocked and ridiculed. I genuinely hope they're able to get someone who knows what they're doing to run this operation because it's honestly truly pathetic to see how ill managed this place is. Do better. read more

ZERO stars. Called the pharmacy because needed prescriptions for travel and the pharmacy tech said he can't figure it out and for me to come in and said I was waisting his time! Who trains these people in customer service? Im sorry if you are under staffed but just say so don't tell customers looking to get an update on 1 of 4 prescriptions because the automated system is so garbled you can't understand it and want to talk to someone that they are waisting their time. Absolutely horrible experience every time. At first you wonder if anyone even works in the store, as there is never anyone at the counter and one of the two self checkout machines is usually out of order. But then after you hunt down one of the catty little teenagers for help they give you completely uncalled for attitude. There is ONE older gentlemen that is friendly but I rarely see him working either. Everything is locked up so God forbid you want to buy Head & Shoulders shampoo. I gave this location multiple chances as it's very close to home but I won't be back and would certainly drop dead before trying to fill a prescription here. read more

The pharmacy team is friendly, efficient, and helpful. There is an older guy working on the retail side who is also really nice. There are a couple of really sad-seeming young people working here who seem to think you are disrespecting them by just asking them for helping finding something. I just wanted to say that right now, in our communities all of the businesses are short staffed. Many employees are overwhelmed and customers are often more entitled than ever. I had to call the pharmacy to locate my missing prescription. I spoke with Lindsey. And it was one of the best pharmacy phone calls I've ever had. She never rushed me, she made sure she understood me clearly, and she never made it seem like I was another pain in her day. I am not one of those people who feel that this level of service is the rule but that it is the exception and Lindsey gave amazing customer service. Which I really needed the extra today. I will have no problem driving 13 mi from my home into NW PDX to pick up my scrip, even with the outrageous gas prices. Thank you Lindsey! read more
