You are going to need to be super patient. They take up to 7 days just "process your order, meaning enter it into their system. Then they take another 7 to 10 days to get it ready and ship it. I was out of my medication for two weeks while waiting for them. My other compounding pharmacy in California had the same Rx ready in 4 hours. I ready don't understand how or why it could require 2 weeks to fill a script. read more

I decided to have my Rx formulated at Lloyd Center so that I could pick it up rather than paying for shipping. Imagine my surprise when my RX was almost $100 for 6 grams, while my former pharmacy charged $50.00 for 20 grams, including postage! I hope I will not need to use this pharmacy again, and if I do, I will certainly check prices first. Twice I have been given prescriptions that I brought to my regular pharmacy only to find out that my insurance wouldn't cover. Of course I could still purchase, but at prices in the $285-340 range. What? Why do I even pay for insurance??? Both times I called my doctor, a different one in each case, and they recommended Lloyd Compounding Center. I was able to get the prescriptions for $50 and $95, far better than the price at the National chain. Orders were completed within 2 days, I paid with my credit card over the phone and pick up at their new location on NE Broadway was easu and convenient, especially with their private parking lot in the back. Staff is fantastic. Prices affordable. I was thinking of switching my dogs meds over to this pharmacy, as they are located right up the street from me. They, however, just lost my business. I was at the pharmacy today to pick up a Rx. fortunately, I spoke with Rick, the pharmacist, before I left and he quickly discovered the Rx was not correct. He could not have been more helpful. He immediately called the doctors office and got it straightened out, gave me a full refund on the Rx I was prepared to leave with, and quickly prepared the correct Rx. All in about 10 mins. I've loved this pharmacy and have gone multiple times, but customer service is apparently not doing so hot. I had a pretty horrendous experience with an employee named Dylan over the phone. I had called in to get something filled and there were three separate times I had questions where he responded in a very condescending manner, and why? I have no idea. He commented once about the price, once about the shipping, and again a comment on my medications. After the first two times I was like whatever, but after the third time I got upset as it felt very intentional at that point. I don't know, maybe it was an off day for him, but seriously not needed. I have walked past this pharmacy twice now and did not even realize that it was here; that's how aware of my surrounding I am. On a whim I stopped in as I actually needed something and I was curious as it looked so new and modern. I found my item, the gal rang it up and handed me my receipt. This receipt simply had the amount that I had paid the date and that was it. The receipt did not state what I had purchased and whether it was a FSA item (Flexible Savings Account). Typically when I buy this item at Fred Meyer, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc., the receipt will state what I purchased and it will also state at the bottom that the item I purchased is FSA eligible. She hand wrote a receipt on invoice paper that had the pharmacy letterhead on it. I am hoping that the Benefits people will accept that along with the cash register receipt and I will get reimbursed. I just think it is odd that such a modern store provides such archaic receipts to its customers. read more

I was leaving on a trip and realized I needed a refill for a compound prescription, which had to be mailed to me, and I had two days to make it happen! Yikes! I called, communicated the urgency. To complicate the situation the pharmacy needed Dr's permission to refill and I live on the other side of town so mail can take one or two days. One technician called me back to confirm what was needed and when. Later the same day a second technician called to let me know the order was approved and in the mail that day! I just visited Lloyd Center Pharmacy today for the first time after years of driving by and it was great! My NP prescribed a medication that needed to be compounded so I had to go but I'm glad I had an excuse. I spoke with two pharmacists and two techs while I was there and they were all completely lovely. I actually really enjoyed talking with both pharmacists and asked tons of questions. They were friendly and accommodating and seemed to really enjoy their work. Another pro: LCP sells these awesome Emily McDowell greeting cards that I once bought online because I didn't know anywhere around Portland sold them. They say things like "I will punch in the face the next person who tells you 'It all happens for a reason' ". In addition to compounding, they have regular pharmacy things like med alert bracelets, bandages and over the counter supplements and a lot of it is geared towards natural/low chemical products. I'm writing to update my earlier review. I was contacted by the Lloyd Pharmacy manager, who addressed my concerns in a most professional way. The pharmacist was informed, training on procedures was reviewed with him, and I was refunded my prescription cost. The pharmacist himself conveyed his apologies for hurrying through the consult. I also want to apologize for not reaching out to the pharmacy before posting a review. I should have called or even written a letter (no email address available - which might be something the pharmacy could remedy). In these stressful times, I think our habit of reviewing as a reflex rather than contacting the provider adds to our communal difficulties. I will be more thoughtful and kind in the future. And it is really not useful to the business to only convey complaints through a review. There is no guarantee that concerns will reach them. read more

Be aware that they use an automated phone ordering system that intermittently drops orders. You might not get your medication if you use it, so make sure either to ask to speak to someone at the pharmacy or to call them to confirm a little while after you place the order--especially if you can't live without your medication. I had to go off mine and will be starting over. I'm really looking forward to a new initial period of feeling really sick. I ordered a refill 12 days ago to be sent by mail. Given pandemic confusion, I waited longer than I should have to contact them. It never occurred to me that my refill request hadn't been received; I assumed the prescription was delayed or lost in the mail somewhere. When I called, I was told they hadn't received my refill request and that it was a known problem that the system dropped orders occasionally. I called and spoke with a manager. It was not a good conversation. I blame myself for that. I expected someone who would understand the situation and do something about it. When I dealt with someone who didn't understand that the excuses they were giving were irrelevant, I got pretty impatient. In retaliation, the manager told me my name was now on a list of people for whom the pharmacy would no longer fill orders, then hung up on me. I'm disabled with chronic health conditions and I'm sure not going to try mail order prescriptions any more, so this could be a serious inconvenience for me. There aren't many compounding pharmacies around here. This was only the second time I dealt with this pharmacy and up until the discussion with the manager, everyone was really nice. Even the manager was nice; he just didn't understand the situation or how to take appropriate action and he got really flustered. I don't really like giving a bad review. I hope they take immediate action to fix the situation. I have submitted complaints in a couple of places asking how they can be held accountable for doing so. Shout out to Lloyd Center Pharmacy. My health insurance will only cover a certain brand of my birth control, and it just isn't the same as what I was on before and wasn't working as well. So I decided to get my preferred birth control out of pocket. After calling about every pharmacy in Portland, Lloyd Center Pharmacy was about $10-$20 cheaper than the other pharmacies in the area, i.e. CVS, Rite-Aid, Safeway, Fred Meyer, etc. When I got the prescription, they charged even less than they quoted me. I paid very little and I get to stay on the birth control that works best for me. Awesome. On top of that, it's really cute inside here -- they've sell a lot of fun little knick-knacks and trinkets. They definitely don't have as large of a selection on groceries, toiletries, etc. as a CVS or a Rite-Aid, but they do have the basics. Pick up was super quick, although I went in the middle of a work day when it was rather quiet. I also like that they are right around the corner from the Portland Streetcar and right next to a bus stop. Getting here from NW was quick and easy, and in the pouring rain I didn't have to walk at all. I just found my new pharmacy! read more

I've been here twice because it's one of the few compounding pharmacies in the area. The first time I had a really good experience even though they couldn't fully fill my prescription (I had a 30 day prescription and they only had 16 tabs left) and said I would have to come back another day to pick up the remaining 14 doses. Not the end of the world but mildly inconvenient. They did explain the situation to me by phone so it wasn't a surprise when I went to pick it up. The pharmacist was nice and explained things well. When I went back to pick up the remainder of my scrip the tech seemed annoyed for reasons unknown and was not at all friendly. When I remarked that the refill had a completely different look (different packaging and color which is somewhat off putting when you have a new prescription) she muttered "thanks" and turned and walked away from me. Ummm...what? I'm sure it's just a different manufacturer but it didn't leave me feeling very confident. Isn't their job to explain and answer questions? I felt totally dismissed. I probably should have spoken up and repeated my question; it was just so weird. Every other pharmacy I've gone to either automatically goes over the scrip or at least asks if you have any questions about the medication. I got a curt bum's rush. Also, this pharmacy only accepts two kinds of insurance, Providence and Blue Cross (or Blue Shield I can't remember which) so if if you don't have either of those carriers you have to submit a claim yourself to get reimbursed. I've never heard of a pharmacy not accepting major insurance before and I'm sure they have their reasons but it's inconvenient. On the upside, they did tell me this ahead of time when I phoned to check the status of my order. That said, maybe it was just a bad day for that particular employee. They do have a nice selection of homeopathics and tinctures (alcohol free even) along with high quality brands of supplements. Every naturopath I've ever seen seems to think they are the bee's knees so they must be doing something right. I'll give them another try because, again, they are about the only option for compounding pharmacies but it would be nice to be treated like a valued customer and not a nuisance. read more

I needed some Pepto-Bismol while on a business trip, and this drugstore happened to be a couple blocks from my hotel (Jupiter) and the Oregon Convention Center. They have a small selection of everyday first-aid items, but what really got me excited was the prices of their generic, over-the-counter medicines. Dramamine is rather expensive, and comes in this tiny little tube, but the generic versions at Walgreen's or Longs aren't much better ($3-$4 for 12 tablets). Lloyd Center Pharmacy had 100 tablets of generic Dramamine for around $3. Needless to say, I stocked up. If I ever escape the Bay Area to Portland, I'll definitely be coming here. Besides, the idea of getting my prescription drugs in lollipop form (it's a compounding pharmacy!) really, really intrigues me. read more

I've been a customer for years and have always found Lloyd Center Pharmacy staff to be the best in terms of special needs and compounded or hard-to-find prescriptions. I came because they were one of the only sources for my migraine medicine during a worldwide shortage, and I ended up transferring my other prescriptions here because of the service. Sadly, compounding pharmacies are under political attack by pharmaceutical companies who don't like the competition, and they've been unfairly attacked just because one bad thing happened to one compounding pharmacy, and lobbyists used it as an excuse to target them all. Can you imagine if we got rid of schools, or hospitals, or amusement parks, just because one bad thing happened at one? As a result, my insurer has dropped all compounding pharmacies from its formulary. I've chosen to still fill the majority of my prescriptions at Lloyd, as a political statement in favor of the hard work compounding pharmacies do, advocating for patients' rights. True, if I have a $300 prescription I'll fill that at a formulary pharmacy, but for prescriptions under $50 it's worth it to me to spend the extra out-of-pocket money to support an industry that's supported me. read more

Imagine this. You're on half a dozen critical medications yourself, and you are called out of town unexpectedly because your father is dying. Two days later, your father gone, you realize you have only days left of your Prescription, and you call it in to Lloyd's Center pharmacy. You ask for a possible rush because you have family that can deliver the medication to you if they can pick it up within 48 hours (before driving across state), and although Lloyd center pharmacy has the medication in stock, they will not put a rush on your order. They also cannot ship your order, for reasons unspecified. I get nearly all my medications from Lloyd center pharmacy. And I am giving them one giant thumbs down. read more

I recently had a prescription called into this pharmacy and mailed to my house. The package was left on my doorstep (between the house door and screen door) with the top torn off. I called the pharmacy to let them know and that I wasn't able to use it because I don't know if the prescription was tampered with at all. I was told by the pharmacist that they could order me a new one, but I would be charged. They do not guarantee the package when they mail it and don't do any refunds based on damage. I was not told this when I placed my order. Now I am left with the cost of a prescription that I can't use. I will not recommend this pharmacy to anyone and I will be letting my doctor know. read more

The pharmacy keeps in close contact with me, letting me know if they need more information and when my compounds will be ready. I've received valuable and informative information from the staff both over the phone and when I've picked up prescriptions (rather than dealing with harried and overworked staff at chain pharmacies who appear too exhausted to make eye contact). Just a few blocks from my office - this will be convenient. It didn't occur to me that I should see if they accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance. They do not. The only plus is that I used my morning walk to get some fresh air rather than sit at my desk. If you aren't planning on using insurance and it's close then maybe check it out, otherwise I think I'll be sticking to filling my scrips while I do my grocery shopping. read more
