I've primarily used this CVS for my prescriptions for the better part of the last year. They don't have a drive through lane and there's almost always a wait at the pharmacy, but the associates are generally friendly and try to stay organized. I am surprised they're staying open with the Publix purchase. Most other local businesses have already relocated to new locations, but -- from what I read last -- this CVS is immune. I'll continue to visit for as long as it's convenient.

I signed in at the computer and it told me it wasn't ready. I clicked I would wait at the store for it to be ready. I waited about 15 minutes and they called my name over the loudspeaker. I went up and stood in line. A pharmacy technician (maybe it was the pharmacist, I really am not sure) looked at me and told me to check in. I told her I already had and they called my name. She then proceeded to berate me and yell at me that I had to check in again because the screen erased my information. I was so confused. I began to cry. I went over and re-checked in. There were two other customers being waited on. I turned my back to wipe the tears from my eyes and the same person, Melissa is her name, yelled at me, "Well are you ready". I turned around still crying and thought to myself, why is she waiting on me. I got my medicine and told her to have a nice day. She rudely told me the same. At that point I was walking away and told her I used to work for CVS and was going to give her a bad review. Melissa screamed at me across the entire store, "I don't care." This is not how you treat people whether they are sick or not. I am a kind person. I wasn't rude or deserving of such cruelty. I reported all this to their corporate offices. They promised they would "escalate" my complaint... We shall see. I will let you all know. In the meantime, if you go to the Carytown CVS pharmacy, avoid Melissa. If I ever go back and see her, it will be the last time I give my business to CVS.

After being told to call at a specific timeframe for my prescription, calling as directed, and being told that the prescription would be there that day, I went in to pick it up two days later. Although I received no communication of any problems, there was no record of the prescription and the item had since gone on backorder. I won't belabor this review with all of the ins-and-outs of the experience but suffice it to say that I will not be using this pharmacy ever again due to the way a man behind the counter jumped in to talk down to me. I would have provided 1 star (vs 2) if it hadn't been for the look of compassion on a few other staff members' faces when I noted that I had not done anything that warranted him speaking to me that way. It was not the first time he has taken that kind of attitude. And some of my friends have had similar experiences. I strongly suggest you go elsewhere.

Kenya took the address of my Air B n B, put it into her phone, and watched as I took down the instructions from the CVS there. My review is solely on the pharmacy, not the store as a whole itself…read more I came to pick up medication with my grandmother (80) and chose this location because it was close to VCU after her appointment. Thank God I did go with her because if I hadn't I'm sure we would've had a bigger problem. I put the three medication in two days prior to trying to pick it up. I was astonished that it still wasn't ready. When I asked why it wasn't ready the pharmacist laughed and said it was normal for this location. She also stated that they're always at least four days behind. I'm used to CVS calling me if they don't have my medication at a location or if they're backed up. They ask if I'm willing to drive to a different location ( which I am ) Well all that aside now that we were in store they were willing to move her medication up in line and told me it would be a 30 minute wait. I decided to take her home to rest durning this time. Prior to leaving we asked how much it would be and she stated / showed us that it would be $38.00 My grandmother being old fashion gave me two 20s and I dropped her off at home. Fast forward to returning 30 minutes later and somehow the medication has jumped up to over $60.00. She stated that she should not have guessed how much the medication was going to cost. My confusion was (and still is) that she showed it to us in the system and it said $38.00. What made the price almost double? When I asked she just looked at me like a deer in headlights. At this point I didn't feel like getting into it. It's my grandma I'm going to pay whatever I need to pay , and I needed ti get back to her. I didn't necessarily need directions as the doctor had taken the time ti explain what we would be getting. I just needed to know which medication was which. Her reply was "ummmm I'm not sure" and then she proceeded to make an "educational guess". This sent a chill up and down my spine, because my grandmother being the sweet old lady that she is, would've listen to this woman. The PHARMACIST who is guessing!! My grandmother would've taken her medication wrong! Hearing the uncertainty in her voice and blatantly realizing that she was guessing I asked to speak to someone else. She could however could not seem to understand why I wanted to speak to someone else. We just stood there looking at one another for a moment until we were interrupted by another pharmacist. Thankful who knew what she was doing. She took the time to show me which medication was what. Explained to me how it worked and just put me at ease. All in all though I will never trust this pharmacy again. Which really sucks since it's so close.
