Must eat. Hands down the BEST restaurant and staff in Richmond. For starters my group ordered three dishes, all of which were incredible. The Bulgogi had notes of charcoal grill, it was perfectly tender, and paired with the best veggies. The garlic shrimp was covered in the perfect savory sauce and thin rice noodles which was great with the light sauce. The chicken teriyaki was an Asian American classic, your traditional sweet and salty teriyaki over grilled chicken and rice. I also highly recommend the Taro milk tea, even as a brown sugar fan. Even with the great food and quick service the best part of the experience was THE STAFF!!! I unfortunately did not get his name, but the man in charge of our orders was the kindest soul. Served so quickly and though the popcorn chicken was supposedly the spiciest dish, it wasn't enough so hubby got their Sriracha yet still not to his liking. I took a taste before he added the spice and thought it was just right. I got the Bulgogi Beef bowl but the meat was not the same as previous Bulgogi that I had in the past. Almost a sweet taste which I didn't enjoy. I actually added Sriracha to it yet the quality of the meat was lacking because I kept chewing two different pieces and they didn't breakdown so I think those were cartilage. My boyfriend and I stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. I hope the lack of crowds was due to the weather, as the food was phenomenal. The owner warmly greeted us and we purchased beef bulgogi bao buns to share, plus we each ordered a lemongrass pork noodle bowl. The individual at the front even walked me through the menu and helped me ensure that what I was ordering was allergy-friendly. The location has adequate parking in the form of a parking lot which makes it really accessible. I went on a Monday evening so it was not too busy. The menu was pretty expansive and had a lot of different options. One of my favorite parts was that they had images for every menu item, so you could really visualize what you might like. Service is good. Food used to be good. Although the last 2 times my husband gotten us the bahn mi from there, we got sick. Today he got us some bahn mi and I threw up again and both of our stomachs are hurting again. And it tastes old like their veggies and meat and pate just sits out. Second time I threw up after eating it. Sad this is the only authentic bahn mi in Richmond, hate to have to go up north every time we want a good bahn mi but the stomachaches, nausea and throwing up , i cant do it. This is secret gem in Richmond. Some of the best food and friendly service you'll ever get. I got the bao bun (bun bun)with the lemongrass pork, a bahn mi pork belly, Vietnamese iced coffee and passion mango boba. This was probably the best banh mi I ever had. The bread was fresh and crunchy. The pickled carrot, daikon, cilantro were all amazing and greatly complemented the pork belly! The bao bun was also super amazing! It was soft, fluffy,and slightly sweet. The lemongrass pork was sweet and savory that I had a hard time having the last bite as I did not want it to end. The bao bun was my favorite part of the meal. Both drinks were great. The staff and service was the nicest and friendliest for a casual cafe I have ever experienced. I then ordered one of their bobas and I was not dissappointed! I brought the Banh Mi home to split with the hubby and we both agreed that it's legit. I love the amount of pickled radish and jalepeno that stuffed in the sandwich. HIGHLY recommend. Their boba was refreshing and just hits the spot - you boba lovers know what I mean! I love the variety of items they offer. It's a nice option for small bites or a snack. It's one of the few places in Richmond that has che ba mau. Everything was prepared pretty quickly. The bun buns were good. The bun itself was soft and fluffy. I probably wouldn't get the banh mi again, as there are other places down the street that do it better (at least the traditional one). The baguette could use more color and it didn't seem fresh. I also prefer more carrots and daikon and would have been nice to be cut in half automatically. They have plenty of seating. For example, we placed an online order and they waited to make the boba when we came to pick up our orders. Additionally, the food is very warm, fresh, and delicious. Ordering was easy as the menu is brightly lite above the order counter. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions politely. We ordered pork buns, tofu buns and crispy rolls. All was tasty and seemed very fresh. You order at the counter and then they call your name when it's ready but they went ahead and brought the food directly to our table. The food was in take out containers even though we were eating in. The forks were sealed in plastic too so this is more of a fast food or take out type place. There's a small area to the right of the counter which had some market type items such as specialty ground coffee and snacks.
