I wanted a bite to eat instead of a meal and stopped into 88 Street food. The restaurant is tucked away in broad street but definitely a good find. The restaurant has a really nice dining area and the food was made to order. I got some gyoza and a tea. I paid around $16 I think it was a little pricey but great quality. They have great options for a grab and go meal also.

10/10! This is a very casual, laid back restaurant, and they even have a section where you can shop for a few items. I didn't love my spring roll, but the bánh mì I ordered was the best I've ever had! I would absolutely recommend this place. I ordered at the register, and the woman working was very friendly. The wait time was short, and the food was totally worth it. This spot was so good, I'm definitely coming back!

Stopped by 88 street food for a bahn mi was not disappointed. The flavor was amazing. Service was quick and easy - perfect spot for a quick lunch. The staff were also super friendly and made sure you had everything you needed. The restaurant itself is very spacious with plenty of seating. Will definitely be back!

Had a very pleasant experience at 88 Street Food. The food was tasty and staff was super friendly. Food didn't take too long to come out and the restaurant and bathroom were very clean. Our only critique is the bowls could have used just a little more protein. Note that be lemongrass pork bowl (super tasty) comes with noodles, not rice. The bulgogi (my favorite between the two) comes with rice. And the bao buns are a must try. We were most impressed with how friendly and cheerful the staff were.

This was my second time at 88 Street Food and it did not disappoint! The owners and staff are very nice and accommodating. The individual at the front even walked me through the menu and helped me ensure that what I was ordering was allergy-friendly. The location has adequate parking in the form of a parking lot which makes it really accessible. I went on a Monday evening so it was not too busy. The menu was pretty expansive and had a lot of different options. One of my favorite parts was that they had images for every menu item, so you could really visualize what you might like. I ordered a strawberry lemon tea and bulgogi fries. Both were delicious, and the tea was very fresh tasting with real strawberry pieces! This place has a very casual vibe paired with really affordable prices allowing you to try a variety of things without breaking the bank. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or dining in with friends, this is a great walk-in spot when you are looking for something quick and easy but also delicious.

The owners are very nice and accommodating. Nice little spot with good food. I enjoyed the banh mi and love it. The coffee is good. So if you're in the area stop by and give it a try!!

Such a good new food try! My boyfriend & I split the bahn mi, bao buns, & crispy roll and they were all top tier dishes in my opinion. I'm less of a Vietnamese food expert, but he has it frequently & was excited to find a comparable spot. The ambiance was also spot on! While it's a fast casual spot, it was incredibly clean & cozy and in addition to that, our food was brought out to us. The best touch was the incredibly friendly staff. A husband & wife duo checked on us consistently & were so sweet. Will definitely be back!

I've been wanting to try this spot out since they opened, and I'm not sure why it took me so long other than it is in a notoriously bad location for restaurants. Nothing lasts long in this space, so it's forgettable. That said, I didn't realize the name of it is 88 Street Food, because their signage says BAHN MI, which is what I thought its name was. Anyhow, finally stopped in to grab bahn mi, which is my absolute fav. Got the Pork Belly and crispy rolls for me, the Teriyaki Chicken for a friend, and the Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl for my mom. For what I got, I have zero complaints. I will absolutely go again. And again. Want to try the noodle bowls. The food comes out FAST, and service is nice. Decor is nothing to write home about, but the food is solid. Plenty of parking. Nice price, too!

This is secret gem in Richmond. Some of the best food and friendly service you'll ever get. I got the bao bun (bun bun)with the lemongrass pork, a bahn mi pork belly, Vietnamese iced coffee and passion mango boba. This was probably the best banh mi I ever had. The bread was fresh and crunchy. The pickled carrot, daikon, cilantro were all amazing and greatly complemented the pork belly! The bao bun was also super amazing! It was soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet. The lemongrass pork was sweet and savory that I had a hard time having the last bite as I did not want it to end. The bao bun was my favorite part of the meal. Both drinks were great. The staff and service was the nicest and friendliest for a casual cafe I have ever experienced. Overall an amazing place that I highly recommend and will be coming back to in the near future. Food: 9 Staff/service: 9.0 Value: 7 Overall: 8.8/10

The food here is authentic and full of flavor! All fresh and natural ingredients. On top of that, the owner is always so nice and welcoming and wants to get to know his customers! I am a returning customer because of that. Prices are reasonable as well.

Stopped here on our way back to NC. There was a lot of parking, the place was vibrant and very clean, and the service was so very friendly. We ordered the fried shrimp and the fresh shrimp. Both were good and fresh, though the peanut sauce was unfortunately a bit bland. We also ordered the bulgogi bowl (good flavor but very little meat (almost 3 c the rice portion!). The garlic shrimp noodle bowl was good. Overall it is a good stop for pretty fast in and out service.

If I could give this place 10 STARS I would!!!! It's the customer service for me! The owner (whom I didn't get his name or a chance to take a picture of him) is an amazing person!! He walks around and greets his customers and even spark up a conversation with you. He's a very humble person and he's very excited to serve those in RVA! He even was on the front page of the Sunday paper 2 weeks ago! Besides the TOP-TIER / Outstanding customer service is a creative menu, Fresh Boba Teas and fruit drinks, a small store with 88's merchandise and the music & ambiance. If they served cocktails and had a bed there I would never leave. lol

Reservations made well in advance is a must unless you're going at less popular times. Unfortunately parking is always a challenge because of reserved parking so plan ahead and come early if I have a reservation. Lots of steps leading up into the building but there is a ramp for handicap access. Kids were in town so we were visiting all our favorite places. Blue Atlas tapas style variety is always a hit with us. The only disappointment this time was the Elote dumplings. They were basically just corn gnocchi. Not a terrible flavor, but wouldn't bother ordering again. We started with some pretty fun cocktails, and a highlighted wine which I wish I could remember the name of...i think it started with N...It was a light bodied wine with mild floral notes, and a Prosecco feel without the bubbly that went perfect with all the plates. For cocktails, we got tea ceremony, la Siesta, Nicolada. I loved la Siesta and Tea ceremony for their uniqueness and smooth delivery. My son has a sweet tooth for cocktails, which the Nicolada fit but probably a little too sweet for me. For food we got the ever reliable pork belly Bao buns -a bit on the pricey side when you have to order extra to serve a table of four at $6 each, Next the aforementioned elote dumplings, -tacos de trucha which was good but not my favorite, -hanger steak, -Malaysian fried chicken - delicious and a good deal, -shish Barak; unique, and very tasty, -Vietnamese prawn toast, which was delicious , - -steamed mussels- good and enjoyed by most, and the -tortilla Española; solid but underwhelming compared to everything else. Also ordered the Brie special with toast that I loved but some of us got part of the rind which there was a lot of so wasn't as enjoyable for them but the flavors were there. Would've liked a few more heavy protein options but this did not affect our enjoyment of the meal. The hanger steak exceeded my expectations. I'm not always up for steak, but this was done perfectly and well accompanied with a marinated summer squash, cherry tomatoes, and pickled peppers. For dessert we got the ice cream sandwich and the chocolate banoffee budino. They were all out of the Black Forest meringue, so unfortunately, we could not try that. The ice cream sandwiches were a hearty serving and enjoyed by everyone at the table, but I thought the banoffee budino was the best. Unique and very tasty. Would have ordered one to have by myself if I wasn't so full lol.

The duck, with the chard mixture, was amazing work. The burger is probably the largest dish on the menu, it's pretty substantial and was very tasty. I'll also shout out the pickles on the meat and cheese board, they had a significant spicy kick but were delicious and I wanted more in the end. The service was great, our man was very involved and had a lot of knowledge about the menu. It honestly was pretty quiet for a Friday night; the Tobacco Company is right down the block but you would never know it in here. The decor in here is also very interesting, there are tables with couch seating on one side. Everything's very sleek. Delightfully clean bathrooms. We enjoyed it, though I'm not sure when we'll be back for a meal as the menu is ultimately pretty small.
