Pleasant people and fast service, clean dining room. Restroom had some facilities not working. Menu items available as either sandwich or rice bowl (which we chose). I asked for extra spicy and got mediocre. Wife had bulgogi which was sweet with no heat. Nice enough place, perhaps too used to dealing with American palates because seasonings were lacking. Perhaps better for appetizers and bubble tea (?) but we probably won't be back.

Stopped here on my drive to home. Having just lived in NYC with many banh mi restaurants, I think this is more like 3.5 just for the food tests Portion size is smaller, lemon grass pork was a bit weird. The dynamite roll tho, hit different. Definitely the highlight. Great great customer service, owner came to greet us. Very spacious restaurant.

My boyfriend and I stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon for an early dinner. I hope the lack of crowds was due to the weather, as the food was phenomenal. The owner warmly greeted us and we purchased beef bulgogi bao buns to share, plus we each ordered a lemongrass pork noodle bowl. I had a strawberry smoothie, and my boyfriend selected a Vietnamese coffee, which I tried also (wow!). Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. This spot is really close to where we live, so we will definitely be adding it to our rotation moving forward! Good for takeout or dine-in.

I wanted a bite to eat instead of a meal and stopped into 88 Street food. The restaurant is tucked away in broad street but definitely a good find. The restaurant has a really nice dining area and the food was made to order. I got some gyoza and a tea. I paid around $16 I think it was a little pricey but great quality. They have great options for a grab and go meal also.

10/10! This is a very casual, laid back restaurant, and they even have a section where you can shop for a few items. I didn't love my spring roll, but the bánh mì I ordered was the best I've ever had! I would absolutely recommend this place. I ordered at the register, and the woman working was very friendly. The wait time was short, and the food was totally worth it. This spot was so good, I'm definitely coming back!

Stopped by 88 street food for a bahn mi was not disappointed. The flavor was amazing. Service was quick and easy - perfect spot for a quick lunch. The staff were also super friendly and made sure you had everything you needed. The restaurant itself is very spacious with plenty of seating. Will definitely be back!

Had a very pleasant experience at 88 Street Food. The food was tasty and staff was super friendly. Food didn't take too long to come out and the restaurant and bathroom were very clean. Our only critique is the bowls could have used just a little more protein. Note that be lemongrass pork bowl (super tasty) comes with noodles, not rice. The bulgogi (my favorite between the two) comes with rice. And the bao buns are a must try. We were most impressed with how friendly and cheerful the staff were.

This was my second time at 88 Street Food and it did not disappoint! The owners and staff are very nice and accommodating. The individual at the front even walked me through the menu and helped me ensure that what I was ordering was allergy-friendly. The location has adequate parking in the form of a parking lot which makes it really accessible. I went on a Monday evening so it was not too busy. The menu was pretty expansive and had a lot of different options. One of my favorite parts was that they had images for every menu item, so you could really visualize what you might like. I ordered a strawberry lemon tea and bulgogi fries. Both were delicious, and the tea was very fresh tasting with real strawberry pieces! This place has a very casual vibe paired with really affordable prices allowing you to try a variety of things without breaking the bank. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or dining in with friends, this is a great walk-in spot when you are looking for something quick and easy but also delicious.

The owners are very nice and accommodating. Nice little spot with good food. I enjoyed the banh mi and love it. The coffee is good. So if you're in the area stop by and give it a try!!

Such a good new food try! My boyfriend & I split the bahn mi, bao buns, & crispy roll and they were all top tier dishes in my opinion. I'm less of a Vietnamese food expert, but he has it frequently & was excited to find a comparable spot. The ambiance was also spot on! While it's a fast casual spot, it was incredibly clean & cozy and in addition to that, our food was brought out to us. The best touch was the incredibly friendly staff. A husband & wife duo checked on us consistently & were so sweet. Will definitely be back!

I've been wanting to try this spot out since they opened, and I'm not sure why it took me so long other than it is in a notoriously bad location for restaurants. Nothing lasts long in this space, so it's forgettable. That said, I didn't realize the name of it is 88 Street Food, because their signage says BAHN MI, which is what I thought its name was. Anyhow, finally stopped in to grab bahn mi, which is my absolute fav. Got the Pork Belly and crispy rolls for me, the Teriyaki Chicken for a friend, and the Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl for my mom. For what I got, I have zero complaints. I will absolutely go again. And again. Want to try the noodle bowls. The food comes out FAST, and service is nice. Decor is nothing to write home about, but the food is solid. Plenty of parking. Nice price, too!

This is secret gem in Richmond. Some of the best food and friendly service you'll ever get. I got the bao bun (bun bun)with the lemongrass pork, a bahn mi pork belly, Vietnamese iced coffee and passion mango boba. This was probably the best banh mi I ever had. The bread was fresh and crunchy. The pickled carrot, daikon, cilantro were all amazing and greatly complemented the pork belly! The bao bun was also super amazing! It was soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet. The lemongrass pork was sweet and savory that I had a hard time having the last bite as I did not want it to end. The bao bun was my favorite part of the meal. Both drinks were great. The staff and service was the nicest and friendliest for a casual cafe I have ever experienced. Overall an amazing place that I highly recommend and will be coming back to in the near future. Food: 9 Staff/service: 9.0 Value: 7 Overall: 8.8/10

The food here is authentic and full of flavor! All fresh and natural ingredients. On top of that, the owner is always so nice and welcoming and wants to get to know his customers! I am a returning customer because of that. Prices are reasonable as well.

Excellent banh mi. Made fresh with the best bread. Quick service and a cute little family owned stop.

I swear the entire time I was here (~2 hours) the line was extending to the door. It was crazy. After trying my coffee I understood why they're so busy all day. It is my new favorite coffee in Richmond by a long shot. Unfortunately I ended up spilling my coffee on my laptop and am scarred for life and will probably never be back to this location. Obviously this was my fault but still traumatic. Overall, try this place out! It will not disappoint! My absolute favorite coffee in Richmond!

I was a bit disappointed that they only offer whole or oat milk, as I was used to having more milk options (like low fat or nonfat). I can't drink whole milk and I'm not a big fan of oat milk. The barista recommended that I try the oat milk and said if I didn't like the drink, they would make me something else. I asked for light oak milk and hoped for the best. My latte was served in layers, so I got a big blast of oat milk in my first sip, but after I mixed my latte, it tasted so much better. The coconut flavor really came through and offset the oat milk flavor. I was really happy with my drink and with the super helpful barista. I'll for sure be coming back!
