Pharmacy is good. The rest of the store is a mess. Shelves half empty, items scattered all over. No baskets, unless you ask. I was told "teens come in, fill them up and run out the door". Which probably explains why the place is such a dump, and the things they do have are locked up. read more

I went there for a COVID vaccine and a Gardasil booster last week. First off, the area where the clinician gives vaccinations looked like a teenagers bathroom, there were vaccines all over and UNLABELED. Per all medical standards and guidelines you need to label a vaccine you pull up. Ok then I almost got the wrong vaccines, I was almost given the flu shot. Extremely rude manager I think his name is sian middle aged Haitian man insisted I was wrong when trying to purchase 12 oz cherrios because the sale tag said General Mills cereals 8.9 ounces through 12 ounces or three for six dollars and he said I was only allowed to buy the 8.9 ounce ones and then I didn't understand even though his employees and random customers both read the sign and said I was correct. I go to CVS all the time. I nearly live at CVS. Over the past few years, I have gotten involved in couponing and CVS is the best place to coupon. At least a few freebies every week with coupons, etc. So, to make a long story not take forever; I have been to a lot of CVS stores and either have great experiences with using coupons or horrible experiences. This particular location was underwhelming completely. It's a large, spacious store; but almost too spacious. To compare, many items in the snack section of the store have exponentially larger sections at other CVS locations. So, my main issue is that they need to use their space more wisely here and add more displays and shelving where appropriate. Employees and even managers have no idea how to process coupons or rainchecks. The red coupon machine needs to be replaced to the new type that are present in every new CVS location. Yes, it's a clean, spacious store and does have a open, well-lit parking lot; but that does not suffice for the incompetency of the staff. Under average and by no means a place I look forward to returning to. Will make a point to visit CVS stores in Hyde Park and West Roxbury over this one. 2 stars. read more

Angry, My doctor sent a prescription for hydromorphone hcl a pain medication. They did not have it and said it would be 4 days, A week later still no luck, I called and they said it would be over a month before they had it. Here I am in pain and they are not capable of filling it. I called my Walgreens in West Roxbury and they had it and filled it the same day. New to shopping at this branch pharmacy. I like the location works really well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I had gone in looking at dizzying array of cough, cold items. Overwhelmed I asked the pharmacist for some help. She gladly came out and went over what I thought I had and she explained what I needed. Pharmacist Matt was rude, arrogant, aloof , unprofessional and unethical. Around 9:30AM, I was about the only customer and there were one tech, one intern in plain clothes instead of lab coat, and one Pharmacist Matt. 1. Since Matt turned me away in my two visits for the Shingrix vaccination, I asked him if he had vaccine in stock this time. All he had to do was "It is in stock " or " I will check it for you" Instead of answering my simple question, he just pointed me to wait in the "drop off "station. 2. Matt was standing only few feet away and had non-pharmacist to consult me. She was wrong in OTC medication and time of booster shot . 3. This woman came to give me the shot. I asked her if she was a pharmacist. She replied that she is in Pharmacy school and has a right to give consultation and shots. I 4. I told her that she should identify herself as an intern and not act as a pharmacist and give wrong information/ 5. The shot pained me. So I waited at 'Consultation Window'' for Matt. I asked him how long will the soar would stay. He said the information was in the medicine sheet. He outrageously repeadedly condescendingly questioned me, "When your arm gets shot, why don't you expect it not to hurt? I told him just because shot is given to one's arm, one should not assume the pain will last since depending on the shots, the pain remains for different amount of time at differing severity. One should be given warning to expect what is normal duration of pain with muscular injection to plan to avoid compromise in activity such as driving. He blamed me for not reading medicine sheet and said "If you need medical attention, you should visit medical doctor". In fact MATT failed to read the med. sheet since no where it says the soreness would continue for 2 days AND the shot should be administered by PHARMACIST not INTERNS. How would I know what is commonly expected to tell what is not normal/ I was glad that I drove back home directly without stopping by other places because within 15 minutes, the pain became so severe i had to bed rest for the next 48hours. During which I had to call doctor's office to hear that the shot should be given by the experienced pharmacist NOT intern to avoid poking to bone with the over sized needle for small flamed women. Matt said she used 1 inch needle. That needle surely poked my bone which still hurts after 10 days. For this I am seeing a doctor tomorrow. Matt is full of air for his own good. He returned me away with excuse of vaccine of out of stock when he was alone. He was too coward to admit that he is not able to administer without harm to patient he made intern to do the job of pharmacist. I will NOT go to this pharmacy for any shots any more. This CVS pharmacy is scary bad. The pharmacist* misread my daughter's Rx, tried to give one cystomer's Rx to another (scary and not v confidential) and didn't seem bothered by either event. The regular staff is nice and I would trust this place for, like, aspirin. But not Rx meds. *When I consulted with another pharmacist about this situation she said that he is not a regular pharm but was filling in. If that makes it better. read more

I'm a big CVS fan - and this store is the most convenient for me - the manager and staff are very pleasant. However, every time I visit, I leave feeling annoyed. The store is not clean - standing at the checkout it's hard to not notice the thick layer of dirt and dust on the racks that hold the candy. The coupon machines? May as well just remove them as it is a rare day when they are in good working order. Today, BOTH machines had "out of order" signs on them. I've even seen the sign taped to the side when it IS working, as they know it won't be long before they need it again. When I've complained they've suggested I use the CVS app. I want to shop here but you're making it difficult, CVS Roslindale!! read more

Worst pharmacy ever!! The people who work there are clueless, usually too busy talking to each other or are simply rude. My prescriptions are never ready when they're supposed to be. On several occasions, I received a text message saying my prescription was ready for pick up. But when I got there, I was told, they either ran out or claimed, my doctor hadn't called it in. Once, I was handed someone else's prescription. They were completely unfazed when I handed it back. All I got was a "whoops". Then, a medication, I was supposed to take the night before surgery, supposedly was out of stock. So, I never received it. Even though my doctor had called it in a week before. No one bothered to call me. I only found out when I called them the day I was supposed to pick it up. By that time, it was too late to call another pharmacy. I'll never shop there again! I have been to many locations of CVS and many are just average okay stores with not very helpful staff and old set ups etc. This is a brand new CVS and is pretty nice inside but has some of the worst service and staff I have ever encountered in a CVS before. The staff wanders around in a daze not knowing what they are doing or anything about customer service. They put one cashier in the front to help a line of people stretching to the back of the store. Sometimes it takes me 10 minutes to get through checking out. It is horrible. Plus they talk to each other and take personal phone calls all well ringing you up and have no consideration for the customers. I will ensure I skip this location as it is convenient but takes too long and is just a royal pain. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I've been to. You would think for a fairly new and large facility they would have their S&@t together. But no. I've either had to wait over 30 min for a prescription when told it would be 10, our call-in orders are never ready (or lost), or been give the wrong medication (happen twice for my child!). Sometimes I am forced to go there bc of their drive thru since I have sick little kids, and shouldn't bring them in. But today their drive thru was closed... As my child has pneumonia, coughing in their waiting area, and have been waiting over 2 hrs for her medicine. Just unacceptable. read more

I don't understand all the negative reviews for this CVS. As a convenience store, it's always neat and tidy, and the staff are friendly and efficient. As for the pharmacy, absolutely five stars. I've never had a better experience with a pharmacy in my life (and unfortunately I take prescription meds every day). They call me when I'm due for a refill AND they call me when I'm out of refills to alert me. They even always offer to call my doctor for me to get the new prescription sent in. They are always kind and helpful when I'm there. I was having trouble with my new insurance one month, and they went out of their way to fix it for me. Another time, my mother was visiting from out of town and forgot to bring her pills. They were extremely accommodating and managed to get her a three day supply to cover her visit. They even helped me get a coupon for a medication I couldn't afford even with insurance one month! Seriously fantastic people there. Five stars all the way. read more

The cashiers are uber friendly and the pharmacist is amazing! She saved my life when the ER doctor prescribed me a medication that has an ingredient that I am fatally allergic too. This is my CVS of choice. After using the CVS in JP for a few months and being treated shittily and given inaccurate wait times (there were many occasions where they said my Rx will be ready in 20 mins, but then I, and many other customers, ended up having to wait more like 45min-1hr -- super disrespectful of customers and customers' time), I tried out a few other pharmacies in the area. My favorites were this CVS and Sullivan's. I would probably use Sullivan's, but their hours don't fit my schedule well. This CVS is almost as good -- the pharmacy staff are respectful and their time estimates are always more-or-less accurate. They often overshoot the time estimate, which is way better than under-shooting. They also call when your rx is about to run out to see if you want them to refill it (or want them to call the MD with a refill request), which I appreciate since I would otherwise not realize I'm running out of meds until I only have a day or two left. They have a pretty good selection of personal care stuff (lotion, facial cleanser, etc), since they are a relatively big store. There's also a drive-through pharmacy window. There's also a drive-through Dunkin Donuts in the same strip-mall. Cons: I can't think of many legitimate cons. There isn't much seating around the pharmacy. They have a small frozen pizza selection (but they aren't a grocery store, so I probably shouldn't expect them to have more). It can be hard to turn left into the parking lot during high-traffic times, but that's not the store's fault. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Worst pharmacy service ever!!!! First they sent my prescription to the wrong place. Then after waiting almost an hour for the other cvs to fax it over to this one and wait another half an hour they tell me they don't have enough in stock and only Gave me two pills!!! Was told by one of the pharmacists to come back the next day to pick up the rest and the guy can't even find my prescription in the system. After waiting another 20 minutes for him to find it. He tells me they still don't have the medicine to fill my prescription and tells me that someone should have called me to let me know they don't have it. Then he tells me I need to come back again in 3 days to pick it up.. Really????!!!! What kind of shitty service is this!!!? Get a grip!!! I don't have enough time to be wasting time and driving back and fourth to pick up a simple prescription! I will never ever ever use cvs for my pharmacy again! read more
