Also, my drug plan made CVS a preferred pharmacy, so it was worth the cost savings. The pharmacy here is located inside of Boston Children's. It's located on the second floor near the gift shop. The location is NOT a full-service CBS. It is mainly a full-service pharmacy with a small selection of common OTC products. They are open later than most locations, given the demand and the fact that there is an ER right downstairs. My only complaint is I wish it was 24-hours. The ER ALWAYS discharges you in the middle of the night with no way to fill medicine. I'd love to see them go 24-hours or install a self-service kiosk that stocks common medicines. It would be helpful beyond belief! The pharmacists here are all highly skilled, professional, and dedicated to their job. They know the stakes are a bit higher given it is serving a Children's Hospital. They know the needs of their clientele are more unique than your typical pharmacy. I've had physicians special order medication's by brand. Most pharmacies make it difficult. Here, they're happy to order in whatever is needed if they can source it. They had my special order medicine in stock the next morning. The pharmacists truly know their stuff and will bend over backwards for their patients. I had to have an emergency surgical procedure in the emergency room late at night. My doctor ordered pain medicine. They were out of the desired medication. The pharmacy team took the time to work with my doctor to find a suitable alternative so I would not be stuck in pain. They truly take the time to ensure you are taken care of. I have yet to visit any other pharmacy that runs so smoothly and with such a high level of care for their patients.

Worse, they claim that my asthma medication needs a prior authorization and when I call my insurer, they say it doesn't. Then Walgreens claims there is a limit on how many I can get total. Not true, per my insurer. This medication is filled monthly and Walgreens always messes it up. Always. I really hate them because they aggravate me and make me wait for days for a medication I need ASAP. Why can't Walgreens get its act together?

Like any drugstore nowadays if you buy makeup, check first that someone didn't open it to test it. Photos- imho they're usually pretty good here compared to other stores in the area! Wherever I order photos, I call ahead to check that the machine is working and someone is on duty to run it. Not crowded at 10 a.m. and staff were busy restocking shelves. I paid in cash and asked the cashier for $3.00 to be in quarters. She at first said she could only do $2 (which would meant I needed to get more change somewhere else), but then said it's ok and gave me $3 in quarters. Thank you! Very kind.

The phone kept ringing but no one answered the phone, then a message ends the phone call and tells me to call another time. I called again and wasted another half hour. I just wanted to place a prescription order which I transferred to Walgreens due to Wegman's closing their pharmacy. This is terrible customers' service. I have to resort to using a mail order pharmacy. I wanted to support a local pharmacy but I it looks to me Walgreens doesn't care about its customers. I have to give it one star but even one star is not deserved.

My main gripe with this location is it feels super cramped. I figure this is because of its location at the Longwood Galleria, but I wish they could at least utilize their space more efficiently. The aisles are narrow, and if there's more than two people in line at the pharmacy counter then they're bound to be blocking one of the aisles. Product selection isn't as varied as other CVS locations but they have the basic necessities. Good option if you live/work in the Longwood Medical area but not worth going to otherwise.
