Horrible. Hard to imagine worse customer service than this CVS. Today the pharmacy opened 1 hour late. at 1pm there are 13 people in line with one person serving the line. The drive-up pharmacy has nobody serving it. Unreal. They need to terminate the manager and the pharmacist. My wife has already moved all of our prescriptions to a local pharmacy. read more

Coming from the doctors office over 45 minutes ago that was called in and being told another hour of waiting because there to busy. Hire more people you charge enough for all your prescriptions. After years of having to come here. This place should go on the do not go to CVS list. Your CEO she be ashamed of this store and her judgement of how to handle people that require a prescription. We went to CVS on Bridgeport Ave, Shelton for 2 days in a row for flu vaccines. On 10/11/23, my husband and I went for a 4pm appt for these. We checked in on-line. We waited for 45 minutes while the pharmacist, Zheng, Xin Yuan talked on the phone, chatted with co-workers and generally ignored us. When we finally received our injections, there was no acknowledgement of the reason for the delay. The next day, I took my 95year old mother for her flu shot. No appointment. She registered at the counter and we then waited for about 1 hour. Same behaviors were noted: chatting, time on his phone. Not really very busy. No acknowledgement of the wait time. These vaccines are available many places. We will not be back to CVS. read more

I came expecting a COVID third booster having signed up a week earlier in their website at their request. They sent me a confirmation for a COVID Moderna booster. I took a photo of it so I know they!d confirmed. Got there and nurse had a pneumonia vaccine and flu vaccine but no COVID vaccine waiting for me. The injector person was incredibly rude to me saying "you are scheduled of a COVID vaccine in an edgy annoyed tone. I pulled out my phone and showed her the CVS confirmation and she said "umm". I replied, I can't understand this . It's clearly confirmed a week in advance. And she said well you aren't cleared for it. I replied, but clearly O am. It says here in the confirmation for this location. And I pointed to the list of vaccines for which I received the confirmation and said, but, it says here that I scheduled for one. Her reply, I'm not blind, I can see what it says!! I've been loyal to CVS for 30 years, and in NY I've received good service. In Ct I see ratings in many of its locations that indicated horrific service. What a disappointment. A good pharmacy is important. Maybe just too much mitch merchandise and not enough real medical care. I'm not interested in staying with this bullshit. read more

I had a confirmed appointment for tdap and flu shots. I received the tdap but not the flu. I asked "what about the flu shot?" and they said it was not in their system. I showed them the confirmation email. They said "we don't take walk-ins." I said, "I'm not a walk-in, look at my confirmation". They said "Can't do it". I said "I'm not leaving without it". They called the police and had me removed. This is the kind of customer service you can expect at CVS Shelton. read more

Unless the pharmacy is incredibly busy, they definitely do not want to answer their phones. I called four times with no response. I was very frustrated and tried my fifth call to the physical store front and was able reach a very kind employee that transferred me to the pharmacy. The woman who answered the pharmacy wanted me off the phone as quick as possible. I was making sure my insurance card was applied to my prescription. She told me I could not give that information over the phone and had to come in in-person for them to enter my insurance card. I have never had problems with providing my insurance card over the phone. This was very odd. Not an awesome experience at this location. read more

Was in line at the drive-through for 10 minutes and the call button didn't seem to be working so I contacted the pharmacy via my cell phone. I was scolded by the person on the other end of the phone stating that they monitored the line (5 cars in line) and stated rudely that I should just wait and hung up the phone. I honestly thought the call button was broken. read more

They tell you it's in queue when you head to the drive thru and to wait 10 min then come back through the drive through then when you do it's closed because it's lunch time. Sick child in car and purposely selected this CVS because it's right next to the urgent care . Now I have to wait another 30 min until you open then be told again I have to wait another 15 min because it's not done . Mean while attitude is given by the pharmacy tech . But the location is pretty and clean . read more

Too long of a story to go into great detail however: girl at the drive-in, very rude. After being told my prescription, which was called in it Monday, noon was not ready yet Wednesday 1 PM, I was told to drive back around to get in line again, which is now at six cars behind me. Went into the store instead and after waiting in line, was told my prescription was still not ready and when I tried to explain that was called in two days ago a very rude technician said from behind the pharmacy counter, look, we're very busy. She told me to wait five minutes, but after 10 minutes I left. Returned to the store two hours later, and again had a very long line. Finally got to the cashier and she told me it would be 100 and something dollars. Having never been there before, I slid my card under the small opening at the bottom of a plexi glass window . She RUDELY said, don't throw your card at me, and I said I didn't, I just slid it under the opening. Obviously, my wife and I will never return to that store. On the other hand, we used to shop at CVS on Derby Avenue, route 34. The staff there was wonderful, the pharmacy was efficient and certainly filled prescriptions on time. If you're looking for a CVS to patronize, go to that one. Do not go to a Shelton. In Google reviews, there were more reviews that were negative than positive and several of them used the word rude. It is distressing to see the terrible decline of the once highly-regarded CVS Pharmacy brand. CVS customer service has gotten to the point where the pharmacy technicians are actually yelling at customers. I watched it happen multiple times as I waited on line for 30 minutes this morning at the Bridgeport Avenue location in Shelton. When it came to be my turn, I was also publicly shamed for asking the status of a prescription. I was told that the tech could not tell me and wasn't going to sweat the small stuff. She didn't just tell me, she ensured that everyone in the store heard her tell me. When I told her it wasn't small stuff to me, she declared to the rest of the staff that she was going to walk out because she can't stand the customers any more. It was an embarrassing moment for me but it was especially so for her and another young lady who decided to insert herself needlessly into the situation. Shame on CVS for burdening their employees the way they have and shame on those employees for their self-indulgent and childlike behavior. I have lots of other choices for my prescriptions. I couldn't find one good review of CVS pharmacy in Shelton, Ct, and I'm about to add to the list of one-star reviews. The ineptitude of staff and pharmacists in this CVS is absolutely epic. Here's a review of my last two prescription experiences. I had mouth surgery, a buccal mucosa resection for cancer. I was prescribed Vicodin for pain at bedtime. I knew this is a controlled substance, 'hydrocodone with acetaminophen'. The prescription was sent to the pharmacy on a pad prescription which is protocol for controlled substances, no phone-call to order this one. I called the next day to see if I could pick it up. The pharmacy girl told me they didn't have any in stock. I asked her why? She told me 'someone else with a prescription came ahead of me and after filling that person's prescription, they only had a few left, not enough to fill my Rx. I called my physician and the nurse was confused, she asked me why they couldn't get it from another CVS, there's two more in proximity, different towns. The nurse told me she would call them to straighten it out. The nurse then called me back and told me that they certainly do have the drug, they were waiting for the Rx to be transmitted. The nurse told me she had already done that the day before, but would re-send it. Finally, day #3 post-op, I got my prescription. Today, I went to an immediate walk-in care center for a painful groin sprain which was so debilitating that I couldn't walk, even with a cane. It's Saturday and my primary physician's office is closed and the on-call emergency doctor cannot order new prescriptions over the phone for patients that are not his own patients. The doctor at the walk-in clinic ordered 5 pills of Flexeril, a muscle relaxer. He called it in to CVS. I stopped at the drive up window to make sure they received the order. The pharmacy clerk said yes, they had it, but it was being filled (5 pills total) and to come back in an hour. I waited 3 hours before going back, and the girl at the drive up window told me they didn't have any. She said they should have it by Monday or Tuesday. Since it's only Saturday and I was in excruciating pain, out of desperation, I drove to Walmart and sat in the car and called the Walmart pharmacy. The woman pharmacist at Walmart was wonderful. She asked what the dosage was, just to be sure they had it in stock. I didn't know what the dosage was, so she told me to stay in the parking lot, and she would call CVS and call me back. She called me within 5 minutes and told me it would be ready when I got inside the Walmart to the pharmacy. Total charge .58 cents for 5 pills. Compared to CVS, Walmart stands out like a shining star. I couldn't imagine going 2 or 3 more days totally incapacitated before CVS got their stock of Flexeril. I plan to get all my prescriptions transferred to Walmart. I recommend that anyone thinking of filling prescriptions there, think twice about it, unless you're a glutton for punishment and want a lot of frustration. read more

I recently moved to Shelton and this is the closest location to me. I've always used CVS in Stratford Hawley lane location and loved their service. They were always on top with text to let me know of any delays. This Shelton location received my prescription on 12/27. Today 1/4 they still have not contacted me to tell me the prescription is not in stock! I call the pharmacy and I'm shocked by the inefficiency of the person on the line. There was a time when large chains were swallowing up independent pharmacies. to our disadvantage. CVS is a monster in this business. The company (CVS Caremark) is wealthy, yet the running of the pharmacy (all branches) doesn't truly hold the customer in esteem : one pharmacist when there should be two, and indifferent attitudes from techs. I would rate 0 stars but I have to put *something*. It took them over a week to fill an important prescription that I was out of. They told me they would call my doctors office to gave it refilled. After over a week of waiting I called my doctor's office who had never heard from them. I finally straightened it out and got my medication and when I politely raised my concerns the staff I was rudely and dismissively shut down and told that there was no say the pharmacy could have made a mistake. I had just suffered over a week without my medication and these inept fools couldn't care less. Horrible pharmacy, horrible service. read more

Worst CVS Pharmacy I've ever been to. I had to come back the next day because they said that they are only able to fill half my prescription. I come back the next morning to every employee running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I ask for my prescription to be told I have to wait only a few minutes for them to fill in the order that was supposed to be completed the day prior. So I waited, 30 minutes go by and my prescription is still not complete and all I hear is the employees chatting it up while there are busy people waiting for their prescriptions. By the time I actually got my prescription I've been there for almost an hour and I had to walk up and hover over the desk to get my prescription. Meanwhile at this time I've been the only customer for an additional 30 minutes. I finally get my prescription and it was just sitting on a shelf completed and no employee contacted me or texted me that it was ready. I know I sound like a Karen but WTF does it take to just get a simple definitive answer? I highly recommend anyone who lives locally to drive the extra distance to any other CVS besides Shelton. read more

we had an appt for flu and Covid vaccine. filled all the required info online. uponarrival for 12N appt, had to check in via phone. I got someone's attention, and she said there was a back up and they will let us know when the pharmacist is ready. they took care of approx 8 people in line before us when we had an appt and they did not. I saw and heard them talking about us waiting - took about 30 min. wait. why make an appt? all CVS's are the same - poor customer service. read more

Half an hour + on hold. Even for prescribers. My doctor left a voicemail prescription after sitting in hold for half an hour-- still no response. this is ridiculous. Learn to multitask or hire more people. I'm watching from an aisle as the worker continuously denies the call -- while he bull s***s with A co worker. Today would be the second time I've gone to the drive thru at this location and sat in my car for 5 minutes or more without even being acknowledged by the staff inside. The pharmacy staff will fully ignore you and pretend they don't see your car sitting outside the window....it's actually pretty comical how they completely avoid looking over to you! I can only assume they are short staffed and taking care of the customers in the store first? I couldn't sit and wait another 10 minutes so I had to leave without my prescription. On a positive note though... I have shopped inside the store a couple of times and the regular store staff is great, and the store itself is very new and clean. I'm just disappointed with the drive thru situation as I see now that I'll have to run inside which is an inconvenience since I only go to this location when I'm at the office and on my lunch break. read more
