On a recent visit, I found what I was looking for so that part was good. Shelfs were 1/3 empty and I used self checkout, which worked fine. But, I walked by 3 employees who didn't say anything, didn't greet me as I walked in and by then, nor did they ask me if I needed any assistance. If you know what you want and know where it is and want to use self checkout, this is your place. Otherwise, some effort will be required. read more

I have been using CVS pharmacy in Southbridge, MA for over 10 years now. I take most of the same medications I took then, a few new ones. They have always given me trouble filling my recurring meds. I take albuterol inhaler and albuterol solution in my nebulizer. They refuse to fill my nebulizer solution because it's the "same name" as my inhaler. The doctor prescribed levalbuteral instead, they call the doctor and then tell me the doctor changed the prescription that I have had filled every month for 10 years and I can't take it every day any more. The doctor tells me that that is not true, but they still won't give me my nebulizer solution. I have recurring prescriptions that I try to fill and they cancel them without even trying to fill them. I try again and they tell me they have it scheduled. When the scheduled day comes to fill it, they tell me that they have to order it and I should have requested it sooner. I go for days and sometimes more than a week without medication I'm supposed to take every day. I have multiple health issues and a terminal illness for which I take medication to slow the progress, and that is one of the medications they refuse to fill on time. This is crazy. It's always been a hassle, but they are getting worse. I can't keep fighting like this. I am in the process of changing pharmacies. I think that that is what they want. I do have a lot of medications, and they are busy, so they either don't want to be bothered, or they are incompetent. Either way, I'm afraid that they might refuse to fill any of my prescriptions while I'm changing pharmacies, or some other kind of retaliation. No one should have to fight for there medications every month or be afraid of what the staff at the pharmacy might do. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. With Rite Aid within walking distance I go here in desperation only. I find the staff to be rude and of absolutely no use. I was shopping here once and had a coupon for any CVS product UP TO three dollars. Needing paper towels, I picked some up for 2.99 and the girl at the counter obviously couldn't read because she gave me a hard time because I hadn't spent enough to use the coupon. After I politely explained what the coupon actually said, she huffed and told me next time I have to spend at least the three bucks. By far the WORST pharmacy of all times. I have a chronic condition , and am on a pain killer. They take it upon themselves all the time to deny me my meds ... I understand state regulations but even after insurance AND my primary care Dr speak to them they still deny . Today was the very last time. Visiting the ER several times over the weekend , the told me they were out of the meds , possibly true. They sent me to another CVS and they told me they never should have sent me in ! That there was no way they could fill it. Back to this location , told 2 days to fill it. Then ? Pharmacist calls me to tell me they will not fill it and that Dr refused after calling. Because I didn't have the medication I had to go back to the hospital again, where I was told that no such call ever took place. The pharmacist at CVS took it upon herself not to fill the doctor's prescription. The doctor knew all the prescriptions I was on, so did my primary, so did my health care. IT WAS THE PHARMACIST THEY TOOK IT UPON HERSELF NOT TO GIVE ME MY MEDICATION OR TO PRESCRIBE IT! I WOULDN'T TRUST THEM WITH ANY PRESCRIPTION! I don't know what I would do without this amazing pharmacy. The employees are amazing!!! I've never been treated with the level of respect I receive there at any other pharmacy. The pharmacists and technicians are extremely respectful and knowledgeable. They are helpful any time I have questions, always take the time to go over everything with me. They tell me everything I need to know which in most cases is more than my doctors do. These guys and girls are amazing. Also, All of the non-pharmacy staff are amazing. Worst pharmacy I've ever been in contact with. Cannot be bothered to do their job. Tell your provider they have your medication but tell you that you don't exist in their system and refuse to do anything to resolve or figure it out until you call to curse them out because they deny you the anti depressants and medication you require to NOT curse them out. This is THE most crowded CVS I have ever been too. I just moved to the area and I think it may be one of the only drug stores in the area which might be why it's always so packed. The wait at the Pharmacy was ridiculous, but at no fault of the Pharmacists...it's just a high volume store and they were doing their best. I dropped off my prescription at the Drop-Off counter of this CVS. This is a lifetime prescription I'm on, and they have filled it for me many times before. When I received a call letting me know it was ready to be picked up, I went. It was not busy at that time, nobody else in line. Lady 1 at pick-up counter: "We do not have it." Me: "But I dropped it off here 2 days ago and got a call that it was ready. Lady 1: "I can't help you, you will need to go to the Drop-Off counter." I go to that counter which is literally five steps away and obviously not staffed. I ask "Can someone help me over here?" Lady #2 appears, and asks me all the same questions that Lady #1 asked just minutes before - Name, date of birth? Looks into her computer and informs me that the prescription was filled, but in Chester, MD. Not useful to me here in Southbridge, MA. Lady #2: "We will fill it for you now, it will be 20 minutes." She does not apologize, she does not seem to care about the inconvenience this is causing me. I'm angry now. I had planned to make this pick-up in two minutes flat, and this is making me late for a meeting. I know what happened. I had this filled in Chester, MD while on vacation in June, just one time. Which is why I came in and dropped off personally to let them know that, now, I am in MA and need it refilled here. I speak with the pharmacist and ask him to dig into the cause of the error. What should have been done differently, by whom? His staff or my doctor's office? He says it's the doctor's office's fault. I am almost certain that they would disagree. Perhaps it's a bit of both. 20 minutes later, Lady #1: "Prescription is ready for you to pick up." "What is your name? What is your date of birth?" By now I have answered these questions 3 times before (two ladies and the pharmacist), and my blood has reached boiling point. I am not pleasant to interact with when I'm like this. I ask: "Why do I need to give you this information a fourth time?". She says something about how there are other customers and she can't be expected to remember. She smirks. She finds humor in this situation. I do not. I say some things I don't care to write down here because I'm not proud of them. I will now transfer my prescription to Rite Aid where my husband has been receiving good service for a few years. The pharmacist there typically stays with you, gives good advice, does not brush you off by sending you to an unstaffed desk, is courteous and has gone out of his way to help us find OTC products in the store and give us advice about possible alternative products. read more

This cvs is great in my opinion. Lately employees have been consistent and polite; they always say hello. If I ever have to ask any questions they are answered quickly. They are great about substitutions if they are out of an item on sale. Overall I feel they have been quite accommodating and I enjoy shopping there. read more

The pharmacy, is the worst! If its not having my information correct (if I have to give them my insurance info one more time, I'll scream) to not having the medication in stock (which for the past four years each month I get a refill) they should get a clue. And now they send me to Charlton CVS to pick up my meds because they don't have them, and now a month later I can't put in my order in Southbridge because they forwarded all the refills to Charlton, not just the one from last month! They do their best. They are busy, because there are not many in this area, and like many people, we prefer CVS for the quality and selection. If you try to go at a slower time, you will get faster service. Supply and demand I guess. I myself, love them. The worst pharmacy i have been to. This Pharmacy really needs to send every employee through a basic training of customer service how to treat human beings. I witness someone close to me get treated in the worst way. She was told by staffyes your prescription was faxed over but its not filled we ran out and won't get any until minday afternoon. Mind you its friday evening so she is supposed to go out witb having her medication who gets sick physically if good a day without. CVS said it could not be transferred to another pharmacy being its a controlled substance although other pharmacy will especially knowing what kind of medication it is. So tell me what is one supposed to do in that situation. Turn to buying illegal substances. The staff really needs to take a stigma training as well. I work in recovery and no by dxperience that would seems someone right out to a relapse being treated in that way. Then you wonder why do many young people die. This CVS is not adequate. Two months ago I went there and told me they were changing drug companies and did not have my prescription ready. I had to come back in couple days. This is a twenty minute ride for me. Now this month when I came to refill, pharmacy tech said let me check in back if we have any. Nope we don't she said. You will have to come back tomorrow. CVS Hot Mess..... left dr. on Weds., had them send my script to CVS in Sturbridge. Upon arrival, I'm told they are out of Augmentin, tried to call but no number on file, I asked if they could have called DR and gotten my number... No, we don't do that. (I receive multitudes of these calls at the ER). They said there are 10 other CVS pharmacies in my are.... after she gave me a 40-second blank stare; I asked if she knew who would have augmentin. I won the stare down, she called Southbridge to see if they had any, they had 12 of the 84 pills I would need. they faxed the script and I headed to the southbridge CVS. Asked when they would have more, they said Thursday - we all know that was not happening, so I drove to Southbridge today, oops - they don't have them yet; they could, however, give me two more pills (hmm. I thought I took the last 12 yesterday, now they have more.... fish, I know but let's go on. The girls said they expect the shipment to arrive within the hour; I decide to get some groceries and return. They promise to call immediately upon arrival. two and a half hours pass, I'm still meandering in hopes I don't have to go back to Holland and get back out. I decide to call, after a 23-minute wait online I find out the meds are in, but they have not processed the augmentin yet. I asked if it could be moved to next position? She said they would call when it was processed. I headed to Southbridge CVS. I hung around the prescription desk and my interest in them seemed to move things along. All in days work, it only took 4 hours and 15 minutes to get the script. I wonder how many augmentin tabs they really had??? By the way CVS has a very low satisfaction score. read more

I am constantly disappointed in the service I receive there. I cannot remember the last time I went there without a problem. Unlike my last pharmacy (Rite Aid in Sturbridge) they believe at CVS it is the customers responsibility to solve problems. Today after ordering my meds 10 day ago, I went there and they told me there was a problem with the Drs office and I should work it out with them. Although there were seven individuals working the Pharmacy only one was helping customers, causing a 10 minute wait. When I got to the front of the line to be disappointed in their inability to fill my prescription, I complained and watched the mind of the clerk shut as I was speaking to her. Afterwards, I spoke to my Drs Office who explained CVS Southbridge is a real problem and recommended I go to a different one.
