The wait for prescriptions is ridiculous. While I understand they are busy, it should not take eight hours. Additionally, there is rarely any updates on the app. You can't tell if it is "in process" or just sitting in some pharmaceutical netherworld. Don't bother calling either, they never answer the phone. ShopRite has great pharmacies. They are all very nice, my prescriptions get filled quickly and they always answer their phone! read more

CVS closing 900 Stores since 2022 is music to my ears! Gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling of Schadenfreude! Really thought the West Hartford CVS's on New Britain Ave or South Main St. were the worst. Congratulations Trumbull CVS! You got those stores beat by a mile. #dontbeaquitter! I can provide countless examples of the Trumbull Store's ineptitude... but we'll go with this one. Cancer care was tapering down at MSK. Amount of Rx'ed meds decreasing. Slowly returning to my healthy pre-cancerous state with a few complications of course. On the CVS app I selected Eliquis and another med as the ONLY 2 meds I needed refilled. CVS kept refilling all meds and billing my insurance. Not cool! Went on the app again, changed med status. Didn't make a difference. Waited in their germy long line, since the actual drive through window itself takes PTO. Spoke with Pharm Tech. He confirmed he understood my request to change meds needing refilling from 15 to 2 only, in their system. Next 3 visits in 2025, they missed an Eliquis script and tried to fill two other meds not needed. I called UHC. Insurance said Eliquis is paid for after Feb 25th. CVS said it's paid by insurance on March 1st. Told MSK about CVS's failure. MSK thankfully provided me enough of this life-saving blood thinner to eradicate the PEs and DVT to hold me over. Returned to CVS on March 3rd. Their App shows the med is covered on 3/1 even though UHC stated 2/25. Big whoop! I'm covered now regardless. Drive thru girl tells me Eliquis has an out of pocket charge of $710.00. I show her my app saying it's covered/free. This confused her more than following the recipe to make ice cubes. Spoke with some RPh who couldn't figure it out either. Today I switched a script from CVS to my local Pharm. Won't be back. CVS... Keep me posted when more of your locations close. My doctor ordered an antibiotic and a covid test for me for pickup given that I may be contagious and they're still trying to figure out with what. When I reached the window, I was told that the antibiotic was filled but not the covid test - I would have to come inside to get that. I explained my doctor's concern but no response. I went inside and asked to speak to the pharmacist. She was rude and annoyed and offered no explanation as to the "why" of the policy except to say insurance didn't pay for it and they could t choose a test for me. When I countered with generic and alternative meds are processed from the car, she offered no response and simply walked away dismissively. Absolute worse customer service I've ever experienced at a CVS. Nonsensical policy and downright rude. read more

I recently switched pharmacies. CVS White Plains Rd had my prescription. I was too busy to pick it up in their 2-week window, and when i did finally get there they told Me the doctor had called to cancel the prescription - a complete lie! Due to that mistake, i spent hours on the phone with the doctors office and insurance company. They never admitted their lie, never offered to help in any way (wouldn't even call the insurance company) and I went 2 weeks without my prescription. Good thing it's not a life threatening issue. They show no empathy for their customers, who are there BECAUSE THEY NEEDS MEDICAL HELP. The rest of the store is fine. Young cashiers so inexperienced, seems that turnover is high so lack of knowledge is common. The pharmacy is simply not efficient, honest, or interested in being there for the patients who need their help. Such a shame. read more

Currently have been on hold for 20 minutes waiting for someone to pick up the phone to inquire about a prescription that was supposed to be filled 6 1/2 hours ago. This place is ridiculous. AVOID. Edit: Finally got my prescription filled after being on hold for 30 minutes. Came to the drive-thru and waited for 10 minutes before having to go inside because they are deliberately ignoring people in the drive-thru. 3 months ago I made this review due to the severe lack in my overall experience when trying to pick up/inquire about a prescription. I am back now to change the 1 star review I previously made. Shortly after posting in March 2021, the regional manager reached out to me about my concerns. She assured me that I would be seeing a big change in how The Trumbull CVS deals with their customers, especially pharmacy wait times. She asked that I remain patient, as they know and have heard several complaints on the exact same issues, in which they were planning to resolve. 3 months later (June 2021) the matter has been resolved. I have called the pharmacy many times and have probably waited a total of 3 minutes. I have stopped at the pharmacy and have not needed to wait for them to refill my prescription (prior I was always told it would be ready at a certain time and it never was). They have changed a lot and I'm thoroughly enjoying the change. Keep up the good work! -Happy customer ;) read more

I'm a type one diabetic. I order my supplies every month from this CVS. every month there is an issue. I call on the phone to reorder my prescription. I get there 2 days later they tell me to have a seat they will expedite it. I wait almost half an hour waiting to be told they don't have it and they will order it or I can go to another CVS. they don't know when it will get there. just such poor service. I will find another pharmacy. I will never go back. I hope you won't go either read more

CVS constantly is late refilling my anti-seizure medications. Today, I called them because I've been waiting over a month to get my rescue medicine refilled & we got a message saying that they haven't gotten an order for it when my doctor sent an order online right after my appointment & his assistant called in one a week ago when I asked them what the back up was with it. When I told the head pharmacist there is proof on my MyChart, nevermind the fact that his assistant called me right after she called them last week, so if I have a seizure & end up in the hospital & the hospital looks at my MyChart & sees CVS is not filling a prescription order they have now received twice, there will be a HUGE problem. Their solution was to call my doctor. I just know they're going to get yelled at. How hard is it to fill a prescription? read more

I can't stand the employees there. They are rude and unhelpful. Just left from there. I tried to fill a prescription I have been getting filled every month for the past two years. Every other month there is a problem. I had enough today. The woman working behind the counter was rude which I'm sure pushed me over the edge. When I questioned her she said she doesn't normally work there. Meanwhile, the other 4 people behind the counter do. Honestly very upset with the customer service here. I always go to this CVS for my pharmacy and pick up little things I need to get sometimes here. Today as I was waiting for my prescription, I decided to get some mascara and foundation since I was out. I typically do not buy makeup here but it was convenient so I did today. I made the mistake of assuming you can test foundation on your hand (holding the bottle in one hand, squeezing the top for some to drop of my other hand without the bottle top touching that hand) as I usually can test products in any other store I shop in. The bottle was not sealed with plastic or anything, it was open, I did not open a new bottle of foundation to test it. A worker came up and was very aggressive with me. First asking if i needed help and I said just looking thanks - then she became angry asking if I had tried the makeup and i said I used a drop of the foundation on my hand - she started to reach for it out of my hand and said "Well you're not allowed to do that so now I need to take it to the back and label it as damaged" and I immediately apologized and said "sorry I wasn't aware of that policy and usually I can try before buying", genuinely apologizing as I felt bad I made a mistake. She became very aggressive and said angrily "in department stores you can but you can not do that here" and again I was apologizing, but she became more angry and aggressive and said we are going through a pandemic and tried to belittle me. I kindly said back "as a customer, I am unaware of the rules and policies here. Maybe you guys should have signs regarding this issue so customers know what is allowed and what isn't. I am not sure why you are being so aggressive but again as A CUSTOMER, I am unaware of your policies and as a worker you should kindly explain them if someone made a mistake - not belittle them and become aggressive". She rolled her eyes at me and walked away from me without any apologizing or trying to understand the situation. She spoke and acted as if every customer should know all the CVS rules and policies. She was incredibly rude and aggressive and undermining. I did not get her name but I hope moving forward there are better workers who treat customers with respect and dignity and allow a conversation to be had instead of instantly verbally attacking a customer. I'd like to add that I work part time in a very busy restaurant and am in nursing school, working in the hospital every single week. Many customers at my restaurant do not know the exact protocol we follow and specific rules in the restaurant, as expected because they are customers, not employees. I have many patients who do not understand the hospital protocols, medical terms, science related information, etc as they are patients and not employees nor studied in this field. As a normal human being, I treat these patients with respect and dignity and calmly explain certain things to them in a kind manner and NEVER expect them to know everything I know. Same with the customers in my restaurant, I treat them with respect and kindness and calmly explain if things are not allowed or what our policies are in the restaurant. Not sure how many times I can point this out - customers are customers, not employees, they do not know all the workers know. As expected. and again, after I realized I made a mistake i kindly apologized and explained I didn't know we couldn't do this there. It may have been a stupid mistake on my part, but I acknowledged it and was ready to move on until she became more angry and aggressive. Overall, she was extremely unprofessional, rude, belittling, and completely wrong in the situation and on her facts she was trying to get across to me. I did not mention that I was in nursing school and work in the hospital every single week, but the facts she was saying about the pandemic and how it is spread were also very incorrect - but I just wanted the conversation to be over with so I just explained my side. read more

Trying to figure everything out took over 1o minutes and I finally ended up leaving everything. Very frustrating considering I limit my weekly shopping do to Covid. After reading all of the negative reviews, I had to post mine. I agree that it could be better but it is not that bad. The pharmacy personnel are very good and try hard to oblige. My only complaint might be about the manufacturer's coupons are not looked at and processed at time of the order to brings costs down. The rude manager wouldn't let me return an unused but defective body wash even though I had a receipt and I bought it only a few days previous because I didn't have a photo ID on me. I wasn't driving, I didn't bring my big bag with all my stuff in it for a simple return, or for what I thought would be a simple return! I said ok why can't I just get store credit then? all I want is a working body wash, I will exchange it for a new one? and she acted like I was insane. I will never spend money here again. I was going here weekly, literally at least once a week and buying tons of products. Soaps, OTC meds, sanitizer, etc etc. I was constantly in this store but this made me so angry that I'd have to come back again so eff it , you got out of refunding me for my body wash, but you lost a customer who came in once or twice a week and bought many items. Congrats. A receipt is MORE THAN ENOUGH INFO as well as the coorisponding bank card that I had with me which corisponded to the receipt. I worked at cvs for years and I know she could have let me get a correct body wash with a working top without needing my personal info. This is ridiculous. Never again. read more

Very disorganized pharmacy, they have up to eight workers, and, only one interacting with customers. When an order is placed, it takes fore ever to get a refill. Many times the order is lost, and you have to wait for them to find it, or, do another refill. Friendly staff, they need to put procedures in place to get more efficient. I switched over from Walgreen, and, I'm thinking about moving back since they did a much better job around customer service and satisfaction. CVS has a long way to get their service better, most customer are dissatisfied. read more

Two times I went to this pathetic pharmacy to get pain medication for my husband which was ordered directly from Smilow Cancer Hospital. Two times I went to pic up the meds during the middle of the week and two times I was told that they were out of stock and would have them on Tuesday the next week. THe male behind the counter didn't offer any alternate suggestions, so I called dr's office and had them order it again from CVS in Stratford and was told the same there, that they were out of stock. The Stratford pharmacist told me that I could get the meds in Bpt and why didn't the doctor's office check to see if they had the meds. Frustrated, I told them it was cruel and insensitive to make a care giver run around trying to get much needed pain medication for my spouse. Explained about my husband's situation, raw throat from head and neck cancer, and the pharmacist said that he had 103 pills, not the 120 prescribed. Of course I bought them. Went back to Smilow, told them about this insensitivity, they suggested that I get meds from Smilow's Walgreens kiosk. I will never go back to a CVS again. They are in bed with Aetna. I will now use Smilow's Walgreens Kiosk. read more

Liars!!! Today, with all this corona craziness, I had the worst experience I have ever had. After waiting in a long line, I was told they had not received my 8 year old son's script. I called the doctor and they had. I them called to see if it was ready (I had to wait like 20 minutes). A woman who worked in the pharmacy said it was ready. I came down, and after waiting in another long line (no social distancing there). I was told my son's prescription was out of stock and no one spoke to me on the phone. I tried to show them my phone, but the pharmacist and said she was worried about social distancing. She was behind the counter!. She told I was wrong, mistaken, blah, blah. Then that awful pharmacy tech, said oh that was me. I said it was ready. After she and the pharmacist whispered, she told me I would have to go to another CVS to get it. No apology, not her fault. Then as I told her it was most certainly her fault, she threatened to call the police because I was antagonizing her. I told her she should.I would love for to explain her rationale for wasting their time and mine. read more

Great little store, helpful staff. Small store so sometimes it can get busy, but wait is usually no longer than 15 minutes. Most people who complain are because of insurance issues, that's not the Pharmacy's fault. Sophia, Jackie, & Hassan are extremely helpful and super friendly. read more

This is one if not the worst managed CVS pharmacy's in Connecticut. Wait time on the phone to speak with someone is 10-minutes on average. Sometimes they won't even pick up! I made a person visit there today to find out why they wouldn't pick up the phone despite advertising that they were open on Thanksgiving from 8am to 9pm. I had my cell phone speaker on so that the staff can hear it and the noted 16:35 minutes that I was on hold. The store was empty of any shoppers but there were 3-employes standing around talking to each other. I asked them why they weren't answering the phone for the pharmacy and they said that the "pharmacy was closed." So I said, why doesn't the owner or manager have the phone from pharmacy transfered over to their front desk so that they can pick it up and notify customers that they were closed. They had NO ANSWER for that! The 3rd employee was extremely rude. He was a male. The other two were female. BBB will be notified about the mismanagement of this pharmacy. read more

This is a tiny pharmacy, which I would assume is a buy out of a mom and pop store. The first thing that strikes you is the strong, disgusting odor emanating from this place; a mix of old shoes and a box of discarded jock straps. CVS took over for a small privately owned pharmacy named McKenzie's Pharmacy in the past year at this White Plains Road location. It is a small location, and at this point not expandable. They have a decent product offering but their pharmacy is a joke! CVS has an automated prescription refill system which autodials you, robo asks you if you want to refill your prescription and tells you to come in after a specific time the next day to pick up the prescription. THREE times in three consecutive months I have traveled across town to pick up my prescription after the specified date and time and THREE times it has not been ready. This is a joke - when it was McKenzie's I never had a problem. There are now a number more people behind that pharmacy counter, and they still can't get it right. C'mon CVS - it can't be that hard!!! How many more new customers are you overwhelmed with now that you've taken over this location???? read more
