The CVS in Takoma Park DC 110 Carroll Ave is stealing money from citizens by not checking insurance Before charging customers. I discovered this because I was erroneously charged $630 for a prescription (with a coupon) and when I returned for a refill They tried charging me another $630. In actuality the cost was $20. The full price of the drug without insurance was about $1300. This is happening with the full knowledge of the pharmacy staff. Please talk to the management as well! One pharmacist involved in the wrongdoing is Timothy Murphy. Perhaps the police could make a visit and perhaps put the fear of God into them. Less than any star rating. I don't even know where to begin. Waited 10 min to be acknowledged. The young girl who took my prescription in moved so slow and looked totally uninterested. Came back. It took the man 15 min to find my order. It was so unorganized!! Then... tells me they don t have the medication my little girl needs!! He tells me to call around town and see who has the meds, then have them... call CVS. Wait..what? It's 10:47 at night! Omg. I'm very disappointed. Oh, and I'm from out of town. HORRIBLE customer service. Dear god. I haven't been so insulted since I was in junior high and still gave a shit what people thought of me. I dropped off my prescriptions after my doctor's appointment tonight, and was told to come pick them up at 7:30. When I arrived, the tech working at the window told me that I would not be receiving my prescriptions because I was filling them too early. That I would have to wait until June 3rd to pick them up. Eight days. Why? Because "your insurance won't cover it!" Ok, had he looked at any of my information besides the date of my last refill, he would have seen that I'm self-pay. I informed him as such, and thus began the stammering. When he finally managed to form cohesive sentences, I got the most bullshit reply ever. My last round of prescriptions was picked up on May 3rd. My doctor had scheduled me for an appointment on June 2nd, but called today and said that the office would be closed for the coming week and asked if I'd come in this afternoon. So, let me get this straight. My doctor reschedules my appointment due to unforeseen circumstances. He writes my usual monthly meds for TODAY, with TODAY'S DATE. Clearly, he does not think I'm a junkie or some back-alley script-seller and trusts me to be a big girl with my meds. To top that off, I actually am running low on one of my scripts because a "friend" stole some of my pills. So yes, I am aware that I'm going to need to make 4 weeks worth of medication last for 5 weeks. And yes, that's my problem. But by the time June 3rd rolls around, I would be in withdrawals, puking my guts out, in severe pain, barely able to move, and likely to wind up in the hospital. I'm a friggin' chronic pain patient. It shouldn't matter that I have pink hair and piercings and tattoos and I dress like someone who can still go out in the real world and do things. It shouldn't matter that my husband has waist-length hair and a huge beard and tattoos. I don't look sick? You're damn right, I don't look sick. I put time and effort into that. I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and chronic migraines. None of this will ever "clear up", "get better", or "go away". It's probably going to get worse. Excuse me while I live my life while I can. The manager was called over, and she agreed with the tech's profiling of me and said that she refused to override the refill date in the system. That she'd see to it that I didn't get my medication until June 3rd. I demanded my prescriptions back, and went to the Walgreens three blocks away, where my prescriptions were filled swiftly and cheerfully. What in the actual fuck, CVS? Do I have to get out of my car and hobble in on my cane to prove to you that there actually is something wrong with me and that I *need* my medication? That I am really just trying to save myself the (literal) pain of another completely unnecessary trip up there? I thought drive-through service was there to assist the disabled. I also thought my medications and all decisions regarding them were between my doctor and I. Silly me. Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you. I am never going back, you hateful pricks. I know you won't miss my $200/mo, but that adds up pretty quickly when you treat customers the way I was treated today. If you need a pharmacy DONT UZE THIS C.V.S ON ASHLEY ST. In Valdousta, Ga. It is absolutely horrid. Their customer service is worse than any pharmacy We have used, my husband called to insure they would carry and have on hand the medication he has been on for 12 plus years they said yes and we will make sure to have it available. We'll it has been almost a week now that my husband has had to go without his medicine, they claim to have ordered it but their truck has come and gone 2 times now and still no medicine. When he calls then Ll they will say is when it comes we will let you know. So just wait. The problem is my husband has been on this medicine for so long just stopping it like this can have dangerous health problems or even cause a severe stoke or death. But C.V.S. doesn't seem to be concerned about this at all. read more

I was sitting in the drive through for about 30 minutes and buzzed the call button 2 times before someone came to the window. I've always wish you could give a place no stars because the CVS here in Valdosta, Georgia honestly deserves it... There have been so many occasions where I've waited an hour to two hours to get my prescription and that really sucks when I am very ill. Don't even think about getting customer service here either. I will wait on average (if I'm inside the store) 10 minutes before being acknowledged and gosh, I'd say around 30 mins to have the phone answered on any given day. Place sucks!! read more

Horrible service. We were on vacation and my son needed a refill on his monthly medicine. This CVS would not take the RX. However when I returned home the CVS by my house had no issues with filling the RX. The pharmacists made no attempt to look up my kids history to see that he had been on this medicine for several months. The tech were equally useless. I was so frustrated that I downloaded the yelp app just to leave this review. Please avoid using this pharmacy. I can never get anyone on the phone, regardless the time of day. I called the front of the store just to ask when a good time was to call back when calls weren't in such high volume and the manager was extremely rude! (If it was even the manger) She kept interrupting me telling me "I already told some else this". Clearly taking her frustration out on me when I was going out of my way to stay calm and polite. If they are always busy, that fine all you have to do is say so. No need to be verbally aggressive to your customers. I then got transferred back to the pharmacy line where I waited 55mins and finally had to hang up (who has time to wait on hold that long!?) (I already waited 30 mins yesterday and 25 mins before I reached out the the front of the store). read more

The worst pharmacy in Valdosta for customer service and accuracy. I have been given the incorrect number of pills, told my prescription was unfillable (after coming straight from the doctor's office) and waited for an hour in their cramped waiting area. The last straw was when my husband was given the wrong supply of medication and when he called to ask what was going on, after waiting 30 minutes for a live person, the clerk, pharmacy tech, whatever, told him he couldn't "Yell at her" and HUNG UP. These are the people who are looking out for our health? I think not. All prescriptions in our family will be transferred out within 48 hours. I have mentioned the slow service to them before and their usual excuse is they are short-handed. Bite the bullet and hire some competent people, CVS. You won't see us again. read more

We are traveling through & needed a prescription filled, we to CVS in another city, had it filled with no problems. We were told we are "in the system" now so all our meds canned be filled at a CVS. We traveled to Valdosta, GA, needed another prescription, I emailed it in. I received an email confirming the prescription & it would be ready Thurs. Dec. 26th at noon. We went in on Fri. The 27th. The lady at the pick-up window was quite rude & couldn't find us in the computer so we had to go to the drop-off window. After waiting 45 min. the lady there - whose shirt was way to low cut for public viewing - said we were not in the system. I told her about the conformation email & she said she had no idea what was going on & it would take over an hour for us too get our meds. Every person we watched behind the counter looked like they HAD to be at work, no smiles, no hello-how are you doing? The pharmacy floor had garbage on the floor. We decided to go to a different pharmacy for our meds and we will not be returning to this CVS. We certainly didn't feel welcome - almost like we were a bother. read more

I won't be returning to this location. I've had to update my insurance information 3 times because apparently it wasn't saved the previous times. I've stood in line (many times) for over 15 minutes at either the drop off or pick up location because you can only complete certain tasks at certain stations, and I can only assume that only certain employees are allowed to work these stations given the fact that there will often be 4 or more people in one line, with no one in the other line, but no other employees ever come to assist. The final straw was that my husband was supposed to have a medicine filled and I was told it would have to be ordered but would be ready the following day at 6pm. I returned the following day at 7pm and was told it hadn't come in and they didn't know when it would be there. The next day my husband called to transfer it somewhere else because this is a pretty important medication, and he was told that the medicine HAD come in the previous day and they would fill it for him. I show up 3 hours later and guess what, they didn't even have it in the queue to be filled yet. I'm tired of the complete lack of customer service and unorganization of this location. I will take my business elsewhere. read more

This is absolutely the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. The only pharmacy that seems incapable of receiving scripts from a doctor, even when the doctor verifies they have sent them. We had the doctor resend them, but still not at CVS. We called the doctor on the phone and tried to hand the phone to the pharmacy tech, but they refused to speak to the doctor. And this is not an isolated event. It happens every single time we use this pharmacy. Never get our prescriptions right. More often than not don't have medicine in stock and have to order it. It is extremely frustrating and to make it worse, we have no option because our insurance company requires us to use CVS. If there were any other option, we would not come back. By the way, we're posting this review anonymous so CVS doesn't take retribution. It's already bad enough. read more

I don't see what the big deal is and why people are complaining, it's like a mini-pharmacy, just go get your medicine and get out, just as I've said before in my other reviews. People whine too much, I like to come in here for little things, like milk, toothpaste, soap, lotion etc. Nothing big or fancy, and maybe a few hair care products to be exact. But either way I still like the CVS pharmacy because it's easy to get in and out of :) I don't have much to say about CVS because I know it's a top-brand store that offers special discounts and savings when you use their reward card.
