Pros: Good and fun seasonal merchandise. Good photo prints…read more Cons: 'Not-so-good", unflattering passport photos. This is a reminder for myself not to make passport photos here. I don't mean not this particular Walgreens, any drug stores in general. I got passport photos here 3 times, but all of them are really "Not-so-good" quality and outcome. Let me get to the point, the images in their passport photo looks fuzzy and blurry, and the color of your face and clothes look faded. It makes the image absolutely unflattering. My photo even looked like a mug shot. I personally don't want to use it as something to represent me in an ID used globally. You would think, "why, they sell something that meets the passport standard." Yes, they have a big and bright white fluorescent lights, white back drop and have a template on the computer, so it will pass the test as a passport photo. But the problem is their old, outdated digital camera. Since our eyes are used to the new school iPhone camera with 12 mega pixels and 4K videos that produce sharp, vivid, and flattering images, that makes the passport photo shot with an obsolete dinosaur camera so unflattering. The detail of your face would look fuzzy, and color of you and clothes would look faded. Meaning, you would look worse than real you in person in their passport photo. It was probably OK back in 20 years ago, but it's not OK with with me today. It's not just this location, I think any passport photo shot at any drugstore would look unflattering. I had a same problem with CVS as well. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied, so I returned all of them. So my go-to for passport photo is Photogenik Photo Studio located in Sugarloaf Mills Mall. I had very flattering successful passport pictures and other photos m there. They have photography level professional lights and camera. You can't go wrong with this place. While Walgreens charge $15 for 2 passport photos, Photogenik charges $20 for 2 for adult, $15 for 2 for kids. If you are picky about photos, you would go there and get that done by a pro.

At CVS/Walgreens/WalMart .... you are just another patient ID number and RX number ... and the more unique your medication needs become ... the more you DREAD and FEAR that the pharmacy will be there with what you need and when you need them. I suffer from a rare and VERY SEVERE sleep disorder that completely paralyzes and debilitates my life without the prescription medications that I take to manage it. In the last couple years the ingredients used to make theses RX's and increased demand for them created a national drug shortage that the pharma manufacturers have TOTALLY FAILED to solve because of regulation and the low profit margins of the meds themselves. As each month passed the shortage got worse and no I would find myself spending HOURS and HOURS in days leading up to my refill date calling different pharmacies to find one that had my medications in-stock. Even when I would FINALLY find one that had the medications available at that moment ... their policy was first-come first-serve and by the time my refill date arrived it would be gone. Or promised to set aside for me ... only to learn their computer had the wrong number available than what was on the shelf. It became such a nightmare I was facing a medical leave of absence from work because it was become unsafe for me to take care of my own patients with a sleep disorder that was going un-medicated for days or weeks at a time. The VERY WEEK I decided there was no other choice but to take medical leave at work (UNPAID) ... I made one last call to a random small-town pharmacy I was certain would be the least likely to help me ... I WAS SO WRONG! From that day until now ... Griffin (Thrifty-Mac's owner and Lead Pharmacist) has gone SO FAR OUT OF HIS WAY every month ... to hunt for new manufactures with enough availability to fill EACH OF MY medications ... and there has not been A SINGLE MONTH since where he was not able to find a way to insure my RX was there waiting for me the day my refill was due. Thrifty Mac proactively communicates with me each month reassuring me things are on track to fill my prescriptions ... and has even found unique ways of helping me lower the cost when my insurance did not want to pay for one of them. Working in healthcare myself ... I know how difficult it can be to take so much time out of your day to meet the needs of a SINGLE patient when there are dozens of others who are depending on you as well. But the team at Thrify Mac has NEVER made me feel like a nuisance or headache ... and have always spent whatever time and efforts that it required to meet my unique needs. What a COMPLETE GOD-SEND it has been for me and my family to know I have this kind of healthcare partner on my side EVERY time I need them (which is all the time). The staff here is decently friendly enough, but nothing too wowing. I've experienced a couple of really friendly encounters, but I hardly visit here anymore to keep up with the staff. And I might be a bit strange in writing this, but the lighting at this location is too bright! I'm not one of those strange folks who goes around noticing the oddest thing, but I'm sitting here pondering why I would rather visit the Oakwood location versus this one. One of the reasons is because of lighting. I guess I like a homely (not particularly dim) atmosphere with just the right balance of lighting. Overall, this is an okay location. There's always a constant stream of people coming in and out. I guess with it being near a juvenile holding facility and being semi near the more dilapidated area of Gainesville (masked behind the prettier business buildings, firehouse, & restaurants) that the strange folks do frequent here.

Hi, I use Walgreens…read moreexclusively. I used this one only for a quick Rx pickup from my Dentist, which is in Lavonia. I stopped in for a prescription, that was called in. I approached the cashier, who answered we don't have it, they have not called it in. It was a reason to go to the car to call the dentist. They had left it on their answering machine and did not check it over the last 1/2 hour. Oh well. i walk back in again from the car, it is a chore, I just came from a long recoup from the hospital, very weak. She now has it. I go back in, Pharmacist asked me for my name again. I told him, he said loudly speak louder I can't hear you! So I sit quietly waiting for it to be made, Pharrmacist Anthony Shropshire, he looked down and said it is being made. Mr. Shropshire makes it, says very loudly it is ready! I nod, he comes back with ,"Lets get moving, it is ready, time to go, time to get it and move on now!" Wow! Where does that come from and why??!! I told him , I am on energy reserves and just out the hospital. I buy it and wish them each a good day. How does this even get justified. It doesn't I will stay at the other stores that are courteous and professional. Too bad, customers that are new are often not valued.

I was told I could drive to Royston or Toccoa to get the meds, no one offered to pay for the fuel or discount my meds. I will never go back to Walgreens again, they suck.
