I walked by a bunch of times before realizing that it was even open, because the outside looks like it might be abandoned. (There are many closed shops on nearby side streets, so it was a distinct possibility.) You can find all the essentials here, from beauty to bandaids and snack foods. The store is clean and not empty but sort of low on stock. Basically, nothing remarkable. If you are in this part of the city and need something in a pinch, Walgreens might be your only option.

A girl at the front counter this morning with dark hair and glasses said she could not exchange a $5 bill for quarters unless there was a transaction. She gave me a smirk as if she was proud of herself one-upping a customer. I understand the rule, but I took back the money and said her behavior was unacceptable. Walgreens needs to remind their employees of common courtesy to their customers. A frequent customer.

The two Toms in particular have been very kind to me. It's become difficult for pharmacies to get enough meds to supply patients, as our government dies not provide pharmacies with the ability to maintain the on volume of pain meds required. This very stressful both for the staff and patients like myself who risk going into withdrawal. This happened years ago and I ended up stuck in the hospital because we could not find a pharmacy with my meds in stock. I'm sharing this information to give a heads up to other patients who suffer severe pain and to compliment the staff for maintaining their professionalism.

The only 2 reasons I go to Walgreens for my prescriptions are because…read more 1) Rite Aide pharmacy burned down :( 2) Norm (the manager) is a really great pharmacist. Ok let me get into the issues. First I would like to state that every person that goes to this pharmacy has the same exact issues (I talk to them while we wait a 1/2 hour plus in line.) 1) they have given me the wrong medicine. I'm pregnant and they gave me the wrong medicine! 2) the pharmacy assistants there are never nice 3) they say it will be 45 min or an hour or even more most of the time. And you should always add at least another hour onto that. 4) there could be an issue with authorization or anything and you find out when you drive to Walgreens. You would think they could give you a courtesy call but nooooo....why would they do that?! 5) they are ridiculously unorganized. 99% of the time the meds filled for you are in a basket and not filed away. I MISS RITEAIDE!!!!!
