We have been seeing the store's posts on face book so took a lovely ride out to Landenberg. Chester county is so gorgeous and it was a great day. The store is very old and small but many choices for food. Pizza, soups, sandwiches to name a few. They also have a good amount of different groceries someone might need in a pinch. Only one or two of each but a lot of necessities. My husband ordered the "Road Trip" delicious turkey sandwich which the owner said her and her daughter found on a...wait for it...Road Trip! I had a turkey, Brie, and fig jam on a ciabatta roll. So good! This was a distance but in the end worth it. The owner was lovely! read more

My wife's family is nearby. We decided to give them a try for lunch. It isn't often that I've eaten at a place where everything I tasted was phenomenal, and the entire group I ate with agreed. This is most definitely one of those places. My main choice was the meatball sandwich. It never stood a chance. I polished it off in minutes. The size was plenty, and the taste was incredible. Between everyone else, I was able to sample tastes of the turkey, brie, and fig sandwich (amazing), the crab cake (meaty and tasty), the cream of mushroom soup (hearty), and the couscous (surprisingly flavorful). We fed 6 people. Everyone raved. We fed them all for around $60 and had plenty to go around. This place is worth an hour drive just to eat. read more

I drove an hour. My expectations were high. Every aspect was less then ok. It's a little difficult to find. It looks like a small gem, tiny town. I enter the store . I see no tables. It looks like a small gourmet store, with prepared foods. I came for breakfast. I ask if there was any place to sit and eat. They said we could sit in the window sill. Ok?? I ask why? They said zoning. Ok? Ordered a Landenberg. Ham egg and cheese on raisin bread. It sucked. It was hard crispy. Over grilled? But it was cold inside. Premade? Buddy got Ham egg and cheese on a ciabatta. He liked his. Coffee was just ok. Guy at the register didn't know how to ring anything up. All of this was very bizarre. By the way. No seats because they don't have a bathroom. Lol. Oh well. By the way no internet or phone service. read more

I went to the Landenberg Store for the first time a few weeks and I was very excited to try their flatbread! I ended up choosing the Margherita flatbread and it was just AMAZING! My boyfriend had the meatball sandwich and he said it was the best one he's ever had. So if you are local or just visiting the area, this place is worth it! It is more of a takeout place since there are only two tables outside to eat in. read more

Newly reopened and fabulous! I ordered a breakfast sandwich - egg, avocado, ham, and tomato on a croissant - and it is delightfully delicious. Staff is so friendly and helpful! Free samples of some of the delicious dishes. This morning I saw an amazing eggplant dish, roasted broccoli, eggplant Parmesan, baba ganoush (sp?), and many other dishes. The menu has great selections for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The store has the basic staples similar to any convenience store. They also carry fresh herbs and bread crumbs and Himalayan salt. Wonderful gourmet items separate this place from any small establishment in the area. I am looking forward to my future visits! They also have space outdoors to sit and enjoy dining al fresco. Check this little gem out! Returned yesterday to try the java and got a small cup of americana- it was caffeine packed and delicious. Lovely little find! I had a turkey and brie with fig preserves on ciabatta and my friend had potato chip crusted cod on brioche. Presented beautifully and tasted even better. The turkey was real turkey not lunch meat. Totally renovated space with gorgeous refrigerator cases for deli-style take home meals or eat-in for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Owner is a chef and this is his first place of his own. He clearly is a high end chef - other examples include crab grilled cheese. Can't wait to go back. read more

A hidden gem! You can count on chef Mark for high quality, delicious food. Our family favorites cover every meal. For breakfast, the bacon egg & cheese sandwich and egg ham tomato & avocado sandwich are our go-to's. I believe all the breakfast sandwiches come on ciabatta, which I've always hated because it's so dense and covers the flavor of what's inside, but Chef Marks is so light and savory! For lunch, the rib eye cheesesteak should not be missed! And the Italian hoagie is just outstanding. The rosemary flatbread margarita pizza is lovely, and every main entree (which comes with two sides) we have tried has been great. I don't tend to eat huge portions, so an entree provides 3 meals for me. Every dessert is just incredible, and I personally am not a fan of sweets. The peanut butter pie, sticky toffee pudding (which is more like a moist cake), chocolate ganache cake and lemony cheesecake are all phenomenal. Gluten free options can be found in nearly every entree and side, as well as steamed shrimp or chicken wings, and they offer gluten free bread (Schar! Yum!) for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. On top of the menus staples, the specials are incredible, too. The meatball (so big!!) and spaghetti are a kids and adult favorite. Soups and main entrees are sold cold, but can be warmed upon request. They also sell grocery items to make your own meals at home, in addition to some fabulous locally made goods (paintings, pottery, jams), so it's fun to look around if you didn't call your order in ahead of time. The only space to dine is a few outdoor tables, so keep that in mind when planing your visit. Be sure to buy a jar of Marcos Marinara to take home. Went here to check it out. Very neat place to stop and grab something to eat. They have coffee, lattes, lunch and dinner items. Along with dry goods such as chips and speciality pasta. Brought home some soup it was tasty! read more

Our commitment to support local was the best decision ever! Besides the convenient location of The Landenberg Store, we had several customers introduce themselves as they were also picking up dinner last evening. Never expected such a friendly atmosphere not only from the staff - but customers alike. After seeing the Margherita pizza online, we had our mindset on dinner. Once we arrived, there were so many other items available and the wonderful aroma coming from inside the store prompted our curiosity as to what are our dinner options. After talking to Chef Mark & staff we went a different route and we are not disappointed! I had the Casoncelli stuffed with Butternut Squash and Mozzarella with a side of Brussel Sprouts, and a Lemon Cheesecake that is now a 'must' anytime it's available! My husband had the same pasta but with a side of a very flavorful Broccoli Rabe. His dessert was Sticky Toffee Pudding that was tastier than the one offered at The Whip Tavern. We also purchased a fresh loaf of Chef Mark's Crazy Bread. Needless to say, it was amazing! The blend of ingredients was perfect and delicious. The portions were absolutely perfect. No waste and completely satisfying. We are already looking forward to our next weekly takeout dinner from The Landenberg Store. Highly recommend this little country store gem! read more

Great little store in "the middle of no where" on a scenic creek. Buy lunch and enjoy on the creek next door. Walk over the little historic bridge. Worth the short drive off 41 to avoid fast food. read more
