I was prescribed a prescription for a cough medicine 2 days ago. The pharmacy was out of the…read moremedicine. I waited 2 days for the prescription. I was able to pick it up today. I have walking pneumonia and I'm over 70 years old. The cough medicine was put in a bottle twice the size of the amount prescribed. The instructions are, 10 ml every 6 hours. They provided a couple of syringes. The syringe doesn't reach the liquid. Seriously? I called the pharmacy, explained the mistake on their end. I also explained I was running a little over 100 degree temperature AND I have walking pneumonia. I asked for them to deliver the appropriate size bottle. I didn't have enough energy to go back out in our 100+ weather. They refused. However, they did offer for me to drive over and they would be able to give me the bottle. How kind. So, I get to pour out small portions of the syrup, measure the 10 ml, get a funnel and pour any excess back into the bottle. Shame on the pharmacist for not correcting his employee's mistake. Shame on the person who filled the bottle. Full disclosure, this particular pharmacy has a pretty good status on accuracy. At least I'm hoping so. I'll be scrutizing all future prescriptions. I'd change pharmacies, but Walgreens is medicore at best.

I took my chances and went with the $3 choice. As a new coffee drinker, I'm not too picky about where I get my caffeine fix, and this CVS refrigerated option did the trick. What surprised me most was how big and clean this CVS was--especially for a downtown location! The aisles were neatly organized, everything was easy to find, and the parking right outside was a lifesaver for my morning commuter rush. Good to know I have a solid, quick-stop "corner store" near my house for future caffeine emergencies!

When I went back to retrieve it he said well does the tablet belong to the delivery people or does it belong to you try to imply that I was lying he was stereotyping me, even as I explained to him that I was a veteran he didn't care because of my skin color it's more so who are you for me to take orders from? That's the reaction I was getting from him mind you I wasn't giving him orders, but I'm very familiar with the behavior that he put out. It made me very sick to my stomach knowing that H-E-B locations can be this way. A clerk confirmed over the phone that I could pick it up with the tracking number. The tracking clearly showed that it had been delivered. When I arrived to pick up the package, the cashier was there as well as 4-5 guys from corporate in suits. Everyone was absolutely useless. The cashier was incredibly rude to me when I said I was told that I could pick it up with the number and I had the number ready and showed it to him. He said he needed names. So I pulled up names. He said he didn't have the package. HE DIDN'T EVEN CHECK. I could see all of the packages on the shelf. I kept asking him to check the names and/or the tracking number. He just kept telling me they didn't have it. It was insane.

Pharmacists are good, many are bilingual. Store keeps busy. And there are a few homeless people in the parking lot, but I've never been harassed unlike the CVS Montrose or CVS Harrisburg.

Nevertheless, it had most of what we were looking for, basically just drinks and snacks for our 2-day stay in Houston. My father wanted bakery items for breakfast and settled for the usual Hostess and Hostess-like choices you'd find at, again, a convenience store. However, the gentleman behind the register was pleasant and helpful. A customer came in and while checking out casually mentioned he had a close friend die the day before in a car crash. The cashier was very sympathetic and listened to the guy without interrupting or trying to hurry him along. In all, the store has the basics. But if you're looking for an actual grocery store like what you'd typically find in the downtown area of a large city, this is not it.
